Does anybody know any girls that play WH40k?I have never seen one.

some peoples wifes play gw games...other than that..there are not many chix playin with plastic toy soldiers y'know

My girlfriend plays Inquisitors (Witchhunters and Daemonhunters)...... and has shown interest in starting a Chaos Daemon army......and she is pretty good at it.

Two of my friends have girlfriends who play.

My GF is interested in starting...

My ex played.

We went to a tournament and she did pretty well. Outstanding at painting.

one of the managers at GW carkeek in seattle is a woman. She has played for the last 8 years at least as long as I known her. She does pretty well.

A guy at the LGS has a GF who plays Space Wolves. I can say I've personally been crushed by her, and her painting isn't too shabby either.

My friend Sarah plays.

My woman is keen to start playing, only trouble is she loves orks as well, so we may become a 2 Waaagh couple.

I keep trying to get her into eldar or nids but it's the cartoon violence and scrapheap look of the orks she loves.

I also know a lady over in the States who plays (/wave to Erin) who I met on EQ2, she's friends with Littleboyblues, who's amazing tanks I had already seen on our guildsite a while prior to them getting posted here.

What is it with all these threads enquiring about women and WH40K?

What is the big desire to have women involved in the hobby? I mean, if they want to play the game, then great, and if they don't....then great?

Is this because young males want to use WH40K as a spring board for some action? or a genuine desire to pit their minds against the female polar opposite in a table top wargame???

My girlfriend has also expressed interest in playing from time to time,seems to primaraly be interested in a Slaneesh based CSM army.
There is also a young lady who plays Orks who I see at the FLGS from time to time.
While female 40K players may be a "minority" to some degree,it's not like they don't exist ,after all we are not a "he man woman haters club"...are we?

our local group has 2 girls who play, with 2 more interested to start....GF's of course, and relentless on the tabletop!!!

I've seen one playing in the GT heat 1 last year.
She played Necrons, nice and very young, but didn't make it to the final.

Right, well, you've completely missed my point! Theres nothing wrong with meeting girls anywhere, however, the reason for so many threads on this subject, is probably because girls tend to NOT frequent your local gaming store!!

My point was, get over it! Unless you have an overbearing need to play against females, then stop complaining about where the girls are not, and spend the energy exploring the places that do.....

My wife plays, my older brothers g/f has interest, and my giant brothers wife also has interest.

My missus doesent play, but she does collect and paint

I agree with Delephont for goodness sakes it seems that the only kids that want girls to play at my local store are horny lonely boys that want to see boobies outside of the computer screen.

The thing about my local store is that there are several girls that go in and show a lot of interest but its not in the game.

I guess it depends on what it is your looking for wheter your a guy or girl but IMHO gaming stores are for gaming not for courting. heck i dont care what sex i play as long as its not a kid

My ex-wife had a SoB army when they first came out which I could never seem to beat. Also played aginst women with Ork, Necron and Eldar armies which I lost against as well... (never play games that involve dice with women or children, the luck gods always side with them!).

Girls don't play with miniature army men, they play with the real thing...

One of the FLGS here is owned by a couple of women, and I believe at least one of them has a 40k army (as well as several other armies).

Hard to get more geeky then owning a game store

My GF wanted to get into the hobby, but right now we're still having fun with Magic The Gathering. Besides, entry level for her is pretty steep. She was interested in Dark Eldar and Necrons, but I told her she might want to hold off until the new DE 'dex comes out. Now I'm smacking myself for not paying enough attention to the rumors since the DE 'dex won't be out for some time now.

Also, a couple girls play at my gamer's club. Haven't been able to play against them yet but they're more in it for the fun than the crushing.

I tend to agree with Delephont about all of this pining for female players. Maybe they just want something nice to look at across the table for once

It's nice to meet someone of the opposite sex that is interested in the same things you are though. By meeting someone in a FLGS, you can see that you at least have one thing in common. I think basing a relationship off mutual interests is a lot better than basing it off how good someone looks while tipsy-drunk in a smoke-filled club.

My wife plays WoW and MtG, so I lucked out.
