I'm hoping that as Dark Angels are the plasma experts, their plasma toting vehicles won't suffer from "get's hot" - THAT might put something codex-creepy in there for folks??

don't forget the "thingy" they have on their foreheads. That's convenience!

So.... are their any pics yet?

Whippysticks? You mean those red things that came with Fantasy's 7th Ed Battle for Skull Pass?! I do hope so, I've had hours of making pain, er, I mean fun, with them!

Something rationale behind?

with termis being pretty sexy in 6th edition, maybe the best way to get more people playing dark angels is to give the new blood a taste in the starter set. Or likely it was just that Dark Angels were the next SM chapter to get a codex refresh so they figured might as well go all out and put them in the starter set

In fact, Dark Angels getting a codex refreshment (soon) would be a good reason for including them in the starter box.
Then I'd assemble my 20 DA Veterans.

Or you could PM someone interested in unburdening you of them. Just saying.

I prefer the blue ones marked in cm that came with BFG. They have a bit more whip to them, I feel.

Guess 25th August is indeed the preorder day for the new starter box, including Dark Angels as predicted.

Yeah, I guess this confirms it. So glad it really is out next month, I kinda need to get my hands on a rulebook...

Are we presuming that there'll be a one week gap before it's released, like with 6th Edition? I.e, it'll be released on the 1st of September?

Hold on. Gen-Con’s this weekend, isn’t it?

Maybe – just maybe – GW will actually be using the event to promote a future product. And maybe – just maybe – they’ll show up with some advanced copies to sell. Wouldn’t that be something?

And maybe to guess the librarians identity ( hint : keys ) would have greater success .....than the blurry hooded marine...

It’s a Dark Angel. In a hood. With a sword.

That could describe a lot of Dark Angels.

Hehe there are a lot of hooded DA marines.

Did the rumour say it was a teaser 'in-production?' I was surprised there was no artwork leak for a chaplain. Maybe it still needs to be put in?

Pretty neat. It looks like the that Librarian is fighting the Hell Brute/Dreadnought (power fist closing on him)

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.

8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.

Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

I would be amazed - I doubt anything official will come out before the 25th, particularly now I've seen those captures from the "teaser"...

On GenCon weekend, GW implements the new trade terms forbidding discussions of GW products instore before advance orders are up. Does that count?

Okay the 25th's the preorder date. Did the most recent rumors indicate seperate box for each faction, one box with both factions, etc?

I wonder what the price is? If it is one hundred and twenty five dollars for only one faction, then I'm probably going to take my ball and go home

This isn't worth making it's own thread, but based on the rumors we have, the BRB basically tells us who the Chaos Marines are...

Ok, so rumors say that the box is called Dark Vengeance, last I checked. Chech out the top right of pg. 176 in the big Book.

"Dark Vengeance: The Dark Angels 5th Company battles elements of the Crimson Slaughter for control of the Hellfire Stone. The Nephilim sector trembles as the hated foes clash..."

Ok, so if the Dark Vengeance rumor is true, then it seems clear that the "Crimson Slaughter" will be the warband in the new box. After all, Chaos is pretty much guarenteed, but who is still up for guesses.

So, who are these guys? Well, check out p. 299 in the BRB... We get a picture of a basic Bolter Marine from the Crimson Slaughter. Red armor with Gold Trim, nothing extra ordinary amongst the various chaos armies, but hey, its something to off of right?

I didn't make this it's own thread, as I'm sure someone else has seen this. However, I hadnt heard it yet, so I figured I might as well put it up!
