Has anyone noticed how...UGLY everyone is in 40k? Everything from the models of space marines and Imperial Guard. Pictures and Codex and such. Why is everyone in the year 40k so ugly looking? Are all the good looking peeps locked away somewhere?

Id agree with this. To many scary things trying to eat/burn/slash/rape/melt/kill you to remember your late for a shower. Besides the majority of the pictures and such are in the heat of battle. Who the hell is going to bust out the soap and shaving creme when in the trenches being shelled?

That would be an interesting new army Imperial Brothel.....

It's because of the whole grim/dark image WH 40K is trying to put forth...There's no room for fluffy cuteness ....

I never really noticed. I don't think the majority of people are shockingly ugly, but a lot of John Blanche's art has people covered in mutations and cybernetics. Funny looking dudes.

They're also surprisingly dull when it comes to colours. Does John Blanche only see brownred and redbrown or something?

Try spending your life under an oppresive regime,stuck for weeks/months/years in horrible conditions,being shot at by various xenos/traitors while some crazed commisar waves a bolt pistol in your face...your looks would be bound to suffer.

The good looking people in the 40k universe are dead, their good looks were sacrificed to the Emporer so he could could keep his youth (you see how well that worked out).

It's more grimdark.

I think the sculpters should re sculpt the SOB to all look like Angelina Jolie, you might see more people using them (then again some gamers may never be see again).
