Well, since Tau are seeminly based on anime, I would go with giving them huge boobs.

But to be honest I know very little about Tau fluff, so their females could be kind of like brood queens for all I know

Have a look at the artwork and possibly read up on the tau to see a) if there are appreciable differences between male and female, and b) if they have any differences in dress sense/haircut etc that can easily distinguish them from males of the species.

At tabletop level the male/female model divide can often be difficult to detect without it being really obvious.

Iam pretty sure I read that Tau females have a more sleek face that is a lot brighter in color.

Seeing as the Tau seem pretty big on equal opportunities and caste members are only allowed to pair up from within the same caste it follows taht roughly half of all Fire Warriors must be female... unless of course their "battlefield" is the maternity wing of the local Tauspital.

Big chunky armour tends to androgynize the wearer.

If none of that appeals then go with Gorechild

Commander Shadowsun is female, but her armor covers up most of her "feminine features" so I would say find some armor that maybe looks more smooth or elegant (Edit: Like that forgeworld broadside in your avatar ) If she is wearing a battlesuit, there won't be much way to show she's a girl at all. Or you could have her wear no helment (I know this dosn't really mesh with the way battlesuits are constructed, but still, it could work)

I agree, based off of Shadowsun's armor, hers seems to be more elegant and has more smoother edges in comparison to the other battle suits such as the XV8. Just a little thing that might help, maybe you also add a retinue of bodyguards, that would be interesting for the fluff.

Yup, the only real visible difference is the Y-shaped nasal slit.

Her armour is different, but that's because it's a more advanced, experimental version, rather than specifically because she's female.

I can agree with Red8sn because tau should be able to have some revealing parts on her XV22 battlesuit so that it is easier to see she is female because it looks like she is actually a He
that really frustrates me because i am gonna buy shadowsun soon but i would like it if you could see a bit more

also i have an idea for a female fire warrior
this could work use a eldar unit body like, um i dunno a howling bansee body?
it may look more female then or even use an XV8 body with certain items to make her look more female

Shas'la you may have a point there because even though she is female there is no revealing parts to let you know that she is female, i bet most people think she is a HE!
come on GW make it more revealing

more boobies does not equal more better

I don't think there has been much official GW feedback on differences between Tau male and female. What if Tau females are actually giant slug monsters?

Yeah and breasts may not develop on Tau. I mean, female fish and birds don't have boobies; they lay eggs.

Maybe the Tau are monotremes? Maybe they lay eggs out of those wierd holes in their faces.

Well, this topic has been beaten to death regarding Female IG. Not all models have to have the boobs of doom modelled into their armor. Plus, if the character is in a C/Suit then there is no modelling for females since the suit is built around a cockpit in which the pilot sits.

If you are doing female firewarriors the 4+ armor is bulky enough to hide all shape of the female form. Here is modern day example of a 5+ basic body armor on a female soldier and see how it removes the female form.

shadowsun is a female. I'm pretty sure i remember a version without her helmet. She just had a skinnier head and a topknot

Yer but the version that people buy dose not have any revealing parts so you might aswell make her with em!

It would be a good idea to make the revealing parts visiable so that she becomes more populare in the games workshop shops

Why not just convert the suit so that it is open along the front as if she is just getting in/out etc?

Then you can display her torso and show she is more obviously female.

This would probably look better on a display model rather than a gaming piece, as it would look odd for someone to be fighting in a half open suit
