After what seems to have taken ages I finally finished Big Mek Grimjaw Cogtoof! I will no doubt find something else to paint on him in the next few days, as is always the way. Quite chuffed with how he turned out in the end.
Without further ado here are the pics. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements.

Grimjaw Cogtoof looks great painted....mad idea very well executed and the painting looks good.
I only have one suggestion.....he needs a little battle damage on his armour plates....something like this:

and i finally figured out what was bothering concerning his backpack. There's nothing holding his pack on that is immediately noticeable, use a strip of plasticard and run it over the tank and rivet it into his back, of make straps that run from the tank up over the shoulders but under the shoulder plates, or not. it is your model after all.

Hey,hey, some interesting looking stuff here
Some nice work on Cogtoof, but agree with SebastionSynn about the pack needing something to hold it in place, even if it's just a couple of plates riveted into his back.
Nice simple colour scheme, bright and vivid, looks good. Definitely keeping an eye on this.

Thanks for the ideas folks.
Going to try the battle damage, have been looking into it for a while. Have tried a few examples on a bike which I will photo today, but still need to work out some mixes for the red.
As for the backpack, it was orginally attached to his spine (in that I cut and filed a massive groove for it to sit in) but I don't think it has worked after the painting. So I think I will rivet it to his back. I prefer the idea that its permantly part of him rather than something he puts on.
Will give it a bit of thought and hopefully sort it in the next few days.

Here are the pics of the bike I have been working on. The red isn't a bright as I have been using on the other models, as I was only trying out the Forgeworld Masterclass book technique ofusing layers, purity seal and hairspray. Quite happy with the results although I would have to repaint some of the areas to get it to work. Otherwise I might paint a lighter colour in patches and then a layer of boltgun then mithril in the centre.

Is it just me, or does the Big Mek resemble the good old ABC Robot of "Judge Dredd" fame? If that was intended, hat's off to you for appreciating the classics. If not, it's still a great piece, and completely in character as far as Orky tech goes.

Thanks for the kind words.
@ Marcin: I haven't recall the ABC Robot although I'm a Judge Dredd fan, so maybe subconsciously it may have been part of the inspiration. Certainly the face looks really similar and the armour plates on the shoulders.
Have just taken the photos of the Mek now that he has had a bit of work on the armour and added a bit to the Kustom Force Field. Might need to add a lick of paint to the rivets but otherwise I'm happy with him.

Well, I admit, I haven't read too much "Judge Dredd" comics, but the ABC Robot was probably the best part of the movie disaster. Couldn't help remembering Armand Assante playing with it.

Update for today, with the imminent arrival of my brother meant that tonight won't get a huge amount of time to paint, so I aimed to get the battle damage painted on the Nobz (pics to follow later) and start the work on the last two. Also whilst waiting for paint to dry I got a bit more done on the Mad Dok himself.
Enjoy. As usual feel free to give suggestions of improvements and the like. Cheers

The Nob with the Golden Guns .....groan!
The pain boy is still looking awesome and the paint only adds to it.
Looking back at the Mek the blue tubes really contrast nicely with the rest.
Really enjoying this.... next time you visit Martin we'll have to have a game.

So, since there's a "Da Nob with the Golden Sluggas", shall we get a Blood Axe by the name of Jaymez Borknd?
