Megan Foxx as St. Celestine for the trilogy and Kristen Stewart as Dominica for the prequel.

Let's make it happen.

Anything other than yet another depiction of Martyred Lady. Let's go with.... Ebon Chalice?

Ebon Chalice would be a good choice. They're very much the most default Sisters in terms of mannerisms, from reading their studio desctription. They'd probably be one of the better choices for brining the Sisters to a mass audience. A thing about them is that they really should be the "main" Sisters, since their colours and combat doctrines are based on the organisation's original ones, and have Dominica as their saint.

I would vote for not feeling any need to conform to such ridiculous stereotypes. They should all be from a single squad from a single order, unless the plot requires different.

They're not stereotypes, they're how those Orders behave. It's studio fluff. But yes, mixing Orders could be confusing. Just threw that option up in case anybody wanted multiple Orders in.

 AlexHolker wrote:
But that is only an interesting comparison if you have some basis to consider it noteworthy. For all Joe Average knows, everyone in the 41st Millenium does that.

The comparison to the average Joe being "oh, they both get stronger when they're hyped up". Simple enough to do.

Why not? Sure, by studio, none have ever fallen to Chaos... but one does not need to fall to Chaos to betray their oaths.

.... such a scenario also allows a sequel, with her in the background as a Sister Repentia.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Can we have Kevin Bacon as one of the Confessors?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

The new priest is a GENE STEALER the inquisition is hunting, the Cannoness thinks they are hunting her for a precieved failure and the priest thinks they have finaly found him. The inquisitor knows SOMEONE is a double agent but unsure who until the final little bit of the battle against the Gene stealer cult.

Its a game, have fun. If you arent for some reason...find a new one.

Let's steer clear of traitor SoBs, chaos or otherwise. Having an SoB knowingly betray her beliefs seems like it goes against the core themes of the Sisters. Their thing is that they're uncomprimising, after all.

But by all means, we could have one failing in some way and exiling herself to the Repentia.

Sure. As amusing as those mobile phone adverts are, he needs something better to do.

So I've been thinking about a screen adaption of Faith & Fire ...
I also picked up some of the excellent suggestions that were thrown around in this thread.

Spoiler:

Nothing against Judy Dench, but she just looks .. a bit too old and brittle for a battle-ready, juvenat-pumped Canoness of the Orders Militant. Just a bit, but still over the line. Looking at her, I see a leader or a sage, but not a warrior. Would make an excellent Prioress, though!

That being said, I have to give props to the Hybrid Son Of OxayotlMade for mentioning Melissa McCarthy as Praxedes - after watching the trailer I could totally see that work out.

Plot wise - anything that DOESN'T revolve around some major character turning to chaos. It's so obvious. I've removed that "other movie" from my memory.

I want to see sisters investigating/fighting genestealer cult, then the subsequent tyranid invasion with the sisters desperately trying to get off planet/save people/save relics while the exterminatus clock counts down.

Pure survival horror. But with extra flamers.

Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

What about Claudia Black as sister Isabel? Or Uma Thurman as cannoness? Maybe throw in Sharlto Copley?

I honestly feel that the only way for a 40k film to be done right you'd have to make it an HBO series. Oh and have Neil Blomkamp direct...

Oh please God-Emperor no no no please tell me you're trolling.

My favorite queenly/commanding types for a Canoness would be Cate Blanchett or Helen Mirren.

And if we could just go back in time to when Natalie Portman was 12 and did the best acting of her career (City of Lost Children & Leon the Professional), we'd have the perfect Novice. Or chaos sorcerer of Tzeentch, actually, the one you think is the innocent kid sitting shellshocked next to Mr. Black Goatee Cult Leader until he screws up and she explodes his head before explaining to the rest of the cult that they'd better not feth it up this time or she'll eat their souls.

On a lighter note, I want a special guest appearance by Hugh Laurie as Caiphas Cain and Gwynneth Paltrow as Amberly Vail.

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

How has Mila Jovovich not been suggested to be in it?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I really, really thought about this, but at least for my Faith & Fire cast I think she'd be "too powerful" and detract from Ms. Mitra's portrayal of Miriya. It's the same reason for why I didn't include Kate Beckinsale, even though I think she might fit the bill (though not as well as Rhona). With so many actors next to each other, and with such a clear focus on two specific Sisters (Miriya and Verity), it'd be a waste in talent amd budget, and I fear it'd split audience attention.

She might make an excellent Sister Superior Imogen for the sequel tho!

Nnnoooooo...
Honestly, this would only lead to even more people buying into Mitchell's idea of Commissars and Sisters
