I am annoyed at the Tyranids, because they choice of cuisine is inferior.
I am annoyed at Chaos, because they are on the side against everything else, including themselves.
I am annoyed at the Necrons, because the sleeping beauty better damned well keep sleeping.
I am annoyed at the Dark Eldar, because they refuse to abandon their misguided ways.
I am annoyed at the Tau, because they had to look so different that it was annoying disguising our farseers as Ethereals.

And this is why I say: GAK everyone and long live the Eldar! Our choice of clothes, our superior physique, and our perfect cuisine are not to be underestimated!

And here is what really annoys me in 40k:

I am annoyed on SM because they are pathos super-soldier-monks.
I am annoyed on Ultrasmurfs because they are ultra-pathos ultra-super-ultra-soldier-ultra-monk.
I am annoyed on Sisters of Battle because they want to burn everyone in the name of the Emperor.
I am annoyed on Ecclesiarchy and Lectitio Divinatus because they made everybody in the IoM mad religious fanatics.
I am annoyed on High Lords of Terra because they rule humans in the name of the Emperor.
I am annoyed on Adeptus Mechanicus because they don't want and can't develop human technology further.

And I'm not annoyed on humanity. I'm just annoyed on how it's represented in 40k.

And Necrons also annoy me a little. They are portrayed in the fluff as being too unstoppable and in gameplay wont stay down.

But I love Eldar and SM:s

What Humans in Tau Empire are treated liek second class citizens, there are even rumors thta they are sterilized. And Gue'vesa solders in Tau Empire are used like cannon fodder, same like the Guard ( but at least Guard is fighting for it's own RACE ).

Ultramarines are one of the finest chapters out there, without them there would be no Imperium ( and not because they are M.W. chosen, but becvause they provided large number of marines after H.H. to stabilize the Imperium ).

Those that are conquered, not those that willingly join. And who said they aren't fighting for their own race? They just understand how stagnant and insane the Imperium's become, and are willing to join as human representatives in a multi-cultural galactic federation.

So, if you don't Kraken, it's really only one, and again, they had a stupid amount of help. Although the rest I agree with. I like to forget most of what Matt Ward has said about them, remembering them from the Index Astartes age rather than the over the top idiocy the codex has.

If you are ranting about the shared illusion of 40K fluff on a net forum it's everyone's business, not just yours. If someone were to spam your pm or email account with their opinions then it would be an intrusion into your business.

You have accused people of having posters of executions on their walls and plotting the downfall of the human race (and quite clearly weren't joking ) before, because they don't subscribe to your viewpoint that the IOM is the greatest thing since sliced flaan

You've called people racists, racial traitors and so on, in increasingly rabid rants about how humanity needs defending from the xeno threat etc.

40K is a somewhat poorly written GAME, though one with a degree in awesome from Nottingham University Everything in the book, novels and so on is fiction. None of it is real.

It's a pity that RPG's have to actually print the difference between reality and fantasy inside their book, for this kind of occasion I think White Wolf makes a point of including a disclaimer that they take no responsibility for people acting as if their stuff was reality. I'll have to dig up my old Werewolf book to quote it

If the most developed nations today resemble any faction in 40K, it's the Tau. We have similar views on technology and military, and we also have a near-complete disbelief of "magic". Most of the successful governments are secular or near-secular, unlike the Imperium.

Maybe Games Workshop is run by misanthropists?

We also resemble the Squats, but they're kinda dead. :( Now that I think about it, the Tau are probably GW's attempt at bringing back the Squats... Battlesuits? Short guys with technological innovation? A small, reasonable faction in contrast to the titanic-but-dogmatic Imperium? Yep, this post just went there.

No, they are not us in the distant future. Chaos is not real. The Tau are not real. Tyranids are not real. The Emperor is not real. We will never be them and they will never be us. Ever.

It isn't treason or betraying your face to support one fictional group of people over another (that is closer to what we are in real life) because they aren't real and never will be!
