Nice update Nerdy the dread is looking lovely and weathered, I really love the effect you have done on the power supply as Git's said I've never seen that done before and it looks fantastic.

Now those hell bitches are super sexy lovely skin tone and blending and the mottling effect is out of this world mate

Its cool to see some paint slapped on the lions they are going to look fantastic I'm sure.

The Mek keeps getting better no idea how you had the patience to do the hazard stripes on the cabling.

Everything you touch with your brush seems to come out amazingly well, keep it up

I'll have you an army list shorty for your Alpha Legion a plan is forming

I've been trawling Gits and Dave's threads all night looking for what set up they use for their airbrushes? I want to upgrade and need a good package with a compressor and a gravity fed cup? the googling didn't help as i know not much about it all! :-( anyone else got any advice on a good little set up?

I've always been happy with my Paasche Talon. Its a great multipurpose airbrush- Im pretty sure its the same one Gits uses.
As to a compressor.... well the one I got is crap. I dont recommend it: Paashche D500SR

RiTides has a great thread about it but it's in the DCM section. Seems that MajorTom and many others are saying that the Badger Krome is a great place to start and you won't need to upgrade it for a long time, possibly ever, so it's a solid buy for most people. I found quite a few set ups on ebay with that brush for around £300 I think. I need to check the compressors though.

Best thing to do for advice though is upgrade to DCM and read that thread. There are loads of good videos on YouTube too. AirbrushTutor and WargamersConsortium both have helpful series' on the subject.

Thanks Casey! I've been toying with becoming a DCM for about ......3 years looks like i need to finally bite the bullet and next pay get my DCM on! then I'll do my research and get a new set up.

only a little bit of paint today, I wanted to brighten up the Mek Ork I am painting but didn't want to lavish too much colour to be distracting on him, so I decided to use his backpack to be the spot colour by painting it in tarnished and bright copper tones, what do you think?

got some packages in the post the other day and just had to get a little excited and have a crack with some of them firstly lets see what I got!

and some marine parts incase i need them.....

and some terminator parts incase i need them........

and an Emperor's Children Contemptor dreadnought........ incase i need it

and this.

and this is what i tried? o.k? too dark powder do i need a lighter one?

I also did some painting of my Alpha legion guy! the armour is meant to be a greenish blue right? how does this look? I really want to get some feedback before i continue!

Nice haul

I think The Lord has too much green to him for a regular trooper, but for a hero I think they should stand out more anyway, so it fits him great.

Also I like the dirt effect you did, not all dirt and grim has to be a dark muddy brown. Yours looks more like a desert flats sort of grime.

Well the mek is looking more awesome by the day. The supply drop is just not fair. But I can't wait to see what you do with it all. And the lord looks cool, apart from I kinda agree about the head, can't put my finger on it but.........kinda looks like when a baby is filling it's nappy. I am sure it will look brilliant in the end, and who the heck am I to say anything. It's just slightly off is all, IMO. I will shut up now ...........sorry.

Lol, thanks guys for the feedback the AL guy is my first attempt and it was the amount of green I was concerned about, i think perhaps another blue wash should pull it back enough we'll see how it looks, but at least it's not too much to be ott! and his head Oh you guys! I actually like it, it's only marginally smaller than the GW ones and on a Scibor body it does initially look small I won't argue there, but I look at it as being more in proportion if he was actually wearing the armour! I keep thinking Primarch even though that won't be his role in the force

any ideas on his tabard colour? my initial reaction is creamy white or black, green could work but it'd have to be quite bright and it might pull your eyes too much? Hmmm?

Oh I should probably chuck this in swap shop but I figured here would be just as successful as you dudes know me I've put my HH IF on the back burner now as I had too much going on in my head with my models I needed to strip it back a bit so I have as a result got 15 MarkIII Iron armour marines with Phobos pattern bolters up for grabs, I'd like to swap them for Ork models with no paint on them in plastic if possible some StormBoyz would be ace if anyone has some but i'm open to any ideas

Thanks Nerdfest. I no longer feel bad about having hordes of unpainted SM's after seeing that rabble you just picked up!

You are going to love the FW masterclass books though, some excellent terrain and weathering tips. I also recommend their weathering powders as they work like a treat.
