i dunno where they have gone in my house. And i don't mind playing whatever, but connor wanted to play me. If someone else ends up playing him thats cool.
and to be fair, 'nids vs. chaos, nids are the bad guys.
It ends up being the showdown between the two causes of gologtha's fall.
Some people would end up thinking that nids are bad and chaos are good, and another might percieve it as the other way round.
the enemy of my enemy is my ally of conviniecne as is the case in grimdark.
The imperium would think the eldar are evil for turning up, just as they would the tau.
It can still be map campaign, just that i cannot take terrain, seeing as i harvest.
phail on spelling damn work computer.

The only way it can be map is if those scenarios are fixed to specific tiles which is fine, and chaos fighting nids is fine as well I can write fluff for that and as you pointed out it in the original fluff.
The problem comes when ther are mulitple versions of the same scenario eg three jungle missions, 1 nid vs chaos, 1 marine vs cron and 1 ork vs guard. Thats three lots of fluff plus three jungle tiles. The fluff/map isn't driving the gameplay, the gameplay is driving the fluff/map but with situations like the above you either have to have really vague fluff and map tiles that mean nothing except to record wins and losses (which in my opinion isn't worth having as it removes their importance) or mulitple set of fluff and tiles.

Then we should soprt it about after this thursday, if we do that, we can make sure that we have fluff/scenarios for each match. means that we can have it all done, apart from the results afterwards. Means the focus flips in the end.

all fair questions guys. To answer alex's question, the cap was specifically to stop people targeting things like single characters or say... platoon command sqauds... twould be nasty eh. And yep we are useing planetary empires, the missions are optional and just to add a bit of variety to the " d6" mission generator in the book. I take what you are all saying, and this campaign does need more focus both in fluff and organisation (both my fault) so I will endeaver to do better. starting with simplifications. from now on, we use EXp and planetary empires rules, for everyones ease, select you army lists as you please (heh poet) Fluff wise it would be easier to do this from the Grand scale rather than the micro scale (as in what going on in the campaign at large as oposed to individual battles) this will cut down on the vaguenes that was required and allows for more linnier(sp?) and focused stories. Really good games may get a mention, but to help our fluff guru Alex out, I shall try to write those ones or do it yourselves So to cap. This thursday. Bad guys place Flags on PE map, Good guys then choose where to attack, play games, then capture territories. this then allows us to see what is happening and write the fluff accordingly (I.E, the imperials win every game, there would be a clear surge in there number of territories) As always question everything. I will try to post as often as possible and reply as quickly as possible, but as you can see, i only got free at 03:00 in the morning lol... god i love it Peace out Bit%s

All this is a bit over my head as I'm more used to narrative campaigns rather than map based. I'll try to figure everything out between now and tomorrow, although I won't be helped by the awesomeness that is the new Tomb King book.

Yeah I think we've all got to shoulder the blame a bit.
BTW I really didn't enjoy last night's game, I generally don't like really big games as it is but last night was really quite demoralising. Combined with the fact that my Thousand Sons frankly suck I'm really starting to reconsider my army choice. I think once this campaign is over I'm going to have to build a completely new Chaos army (still Tzeench but not pure TS)

It seems that Jason might well have decided that we aren't running it like he wanted. And the big game wasn't bad, just kinda annoying because of the amount of people in the game.

Yeah games that size ain't brilliant, I think when you get more then 3 players on each side you might as not be playing in the same game and that's still stretching it.
Nick I wouldn't count out your thousand sons based on that game, your end was frankly always going to be in pain.
Gorillawizard, that sucks, you will be missed. I was hoping you'd put the beastmen through their paces again.
 Begin Rant
I don't really know what Jason wants us to run though, how can he have a cohesive campaign when you have to allow for random player participation. Its not like he's given us a lot of feed back or in put anyway. I kind of think the only reason he is letting us run it is because he can't be bothered I mean look at how badly the 40k tales of many gamers turned out, it was hardly well organised and if I recall correctly by the end we were dishing out our own points.
 Rant Over
I might start work on another campaign, will be calling on you guys for help I'm sure. I'm thinking of something along the lines of Shogun meets DoW, basically a strong map focused campaign with territories offering up points to spend on repairing/reinforcing your army or to spend more tactical elements like planet strikes or additional Heavy support slots. Oh and you better believe there will be a narrative

Indeed it was with 2 blood angels aremies and an eldar wraithspam list (although I do like that army) but I'm not writing my Thousand Sons off based on one game but every game I've played with them. Since I've started using them I've lost every game aside from 2 draws and 2 wins. It doesn't help that we have so many BA players in the store who like to run mephiston or Death Company based lists, that and the current mech = win approach really hurt the Sons. The real problem with the army is the lack of Anti Tank at 1750pts the only reliable anti tank option I have is the DP. The Defiliers are ok but they're really best at distracting my opponent (shoot the big ones ). Aside from that the only squad with any anti tank potential is the Termi Squad and they are 300 points I can't help but think that the points spend on them would be better spent elsewhere (maybe a Vindi/Pred and some summoned Daemons). Of course I could put the dread in the list but that's just asking for trouble.
Hmm I'm getting idea's time to rewrite my list.....
If you want a small Fantasy game let me know I'd love to get a second game with my Empire (ideally not against Johnny's Nuln list).
That new campaign idea sounds good but I think we should try to give the current one another go as it's not really got going yet.
I agree about 40k TOMG ending that was terrible, so was the WOTR one if you ask me.

That's the spirit that's how I ended up with over 5000 points of guard
You can keep the TS core of your army and just play around a bit to fill the gaps your missing e.g. anti tank
Yeah I'll play you at fantasy, but I'll tell you what I told Gorilla wizard you better have a lot of patience.
My campaign wasn't designed to replace the existing one, it just something i've been thinking about for a while and it would e good to get a rough draft down. It was originally an idea to get my mate Moe to play more. He has about 1500 of orks but doesn't want to play at GW.
