People are still complaining about BoW? You bitch when there are rumors, you bitch when there aren't, you cry when GW doesn't release fliers, you cry when they do release fliers. Must you guys gak over everything? They gave out some tidbit of information, be happy that there is that.
Personally I'm butthurt that only 5th Ed armies are getting supplements while I have a year to wait on a new codex. You should at least be happy that you get something new.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

People will complain about the things they don't like. That's just human nature. You seem to be overlooking the fact that the people who like fliers and the people who dislike fliers aren't the same people... Forums aren't a single, gestalt hive-mind that all shares the same opinion.
They gave out some tidbit of information, be happy that there is that.
They posted some sketches of things that may or may not be actual releases. I'm not going to complain about them doing it, because I didn't waste any of my own time watching a video for promised new release pictures just to wind up with a bunch of dodgy sketches... but until they're confirmed, and we see some actual model pics, it's not really anything to get excited about either.

I'm not quite sure what your issue is with this?
My issue is that they are being treated as some prophetic entity, with people citing their reliability based upon sketches that, to me, look as though they were made lifting the Codex art almost wholesale.
Yeah, that position works somewhat for the Necron flyer, but I for one haven't seen any other "StormTalon" pictures around, certainly not in my SM codex...
Well, to be fair I'm referring more to the Necron flyer, Stalker, and the Tomb Blades.
The only notable deviation of codex art->production model I can think of is the Manticore. They used the artwork for the FW model and then released a hideous version.
Your being bull headed. BoW which have been quite reliable many many times on new rumors, AND who do have inside sources say that the pictures are from someone who HAS seen the models. This is prophetic portion to me.
BoW HATE!!!! looking like idiots so they will usually not post something that they have not attempted to confirm. This can take MONTHS!!! but they do it regardless because they are a huge name AND actually loved (somewhat) by GW because they help boost their sales, give them some ideas (which GW tends to ignore anyways) and bring talent into the sculpting/painting community (not just for GW though).
Taking this into note, I am loving the Talon, it is perfect for a gunship and since its going to likely be 1/2-2/3 the size of a Raven (without CH upgrade kit) it will be great for me. At the pts that BoW have put it at and the likely hood of the "Escort" rule, if this comes to Blood Angels am getting 2 since it is either going to be a Heavy or Fast Attack which I usually have slots for. It is cheaper than a Dev squad and has almost the same firepower.
The Escort rule alone helps BA out and will make them more competitive since I can Deep Strike an Assault Squad and have this thing pop up ~6" away and then have it shooting everything. This also means that if it can have Melta's (wishlisting) then I can also have a better chance at popping anything. If it does have melta's/flamers Vanilla Marines will have a field day with it.
All I know is that I want 2 for normal games and many many more for Apoc. Automatically Appended Next Post: Thought just occurred to me.
Since GW has put into effect the no Leaking of information until just before the release rule. What if GW is using BoW as the hype builder for their upcoming releases.
Think about it. BoW has dates, rules and arguably horrid sketches. This plus the fact that they are NOT bothered to tell us any of this on a pod cast style with no real complaint by GW makes me think that they are being told this info on purpose.
There are a couple of reasons why.
1) Since the rule of no leaking got enforced last year they have had no real way to build hype, and (I have not confirmed this next part yet) likely their sales dropped because of it.
Now BoW does this for them in the form of rumor-mongering and codices reviews.
2) GW wants opinions and thoughts by the community (even if they don't always listen. . . well most likely never but still) and let BoW do their podcasts and watch twitter and FB like hawks.
These are just pure speculation but it does make sense.

BA need to be more competitive, why? Because they're #3 on the power scale to GKs and SW?
From everything said on BOW, it will not have meltas. HB/ AC standard with options for TL Las, Typhoon MLs, and Skyhammer missiles. The HB/ AC aren't bad for deepstriking. But DSing AV11 into enemy lines is asking to get shot down. You'll have to hope that it and the DSed unit you dropped can clear a good amount of space to keep it from dying next turn.

I don't care for the look of the SM flyer either. I'm not sure why they bothered to provide a sketch of the Necron Nightscythe as we've already got art for it. The ork flier is spot on, though it looks exceedingly similar to the FW version to me.

The Necron flyer looks "loosely" traced. Just a quick sketch over the (presumed) box art to get the general shapes. Look especially at the gun.

Have never tried to transform it. It was purchased for a Tzeench flyer conversion, that might now actually happen.
I suspect the new flyer rules will generate a lot of scratchbuild/kit bash modeling from people that want better looking models.

IMO I like that the space marine flyer follows the same design as the thunderhawk, storm eagle and storm raven.
The Valkyrie is identical to the vendetta and the night scythe and doom scythe are the same.

Wave 1 in june is as bow has revealed. But i am expecting the de bomber before end of summer along with a tau and chaos sm flyer. The csm flyer is likely w the codex so the other two may have "something" with them.
The tau flyer as ive heard from 3 sources is named after a snake, not a fish. Has a networked marker light like item/weapon that can stack. 4 missiles. Options for rail guns or some gattling cannons. No transport.
Orks still have another flyer that is ready for release. And its in the codex.
Eldar get nothing until their codex. As others have stated.
Tyranids harpy has been done fore some time, but its looking like itll be held onto for a while longer. Rumor is another nid wave release with the spore later...
BramGaunt wrote:The orks are a pretty easy guess, Killakopta, since they'll be out of miniatures in... what, 4 months?
Nids will probably be the very last wave release, since they still lack several units.
Tau Aircraft puzzles me, but maybe it's to patch up time for them until the release of their own codex.
Sad for Eldar Players... but they have plenty Antigravs, and maybe Falcons will get an option to be used like a fighter?

Because the fliers we have so far are so overpowered. Yup, Stormravens and the Dark Eldar fighter sure have broken the game. Vendettas notwithstanding, I wouldn't think they'd be that ridiculous.

I know they'll get more powerful, but I like giving the benefit of the doubt once in a while when we haven't even seen the 6th ed rules yet. If you go by the Apoc/Forgeworld flier rules, they will definitely be better but hardly game-breaking.

A unit doesn't need to be ridiculous or game breaking for people to be persuaded.
All they need to do is make fliers B grade, and mechanized meta down to C, and gamers will be lapping it up, with shinny new toys as seasoning.
