[user] Been on the fence on whether, or not to pick up warhammer 40k. Finally succumbed to the temptation. Now, just deciding on what army to play. Here are my choices orks, imperial guard, and Dark Eldar. All I know is that I want a heavy mechanical army. Anyhow, nice to meet you all, and see you on the battlefield soon.

All of those can be meched up and have very good list. I personally play IG, but orks are really cool as well imho. I think it is going to depend on what playstyle you want, if you want a crazy army where you can shout random things in a game and no one will think you are wierd, then orks, if you like WWI era looking tanks and the imperium then IG, if you like hedonistic kinky elves then Dark eldar. All of them are very cool. Also, welcome to Dakka

Orks is the army I'm learning towards. I think a Kos army full of truck and biker boyz would be too much fun to pass up.
