I assume that Omegus is comparing Russ to Conan the Barbarian. Granted, I'm not really sure why, but that's my guess.

And what he is saying is basically true, in that during Magnus and Russ' fight, Magnus was holding the upper-hand throughout the entire fight (Until the end), but Magnus was also focusing on more than Russ, also fighting the wolves that he brought (Proving that Russ has roughly the same concept of honorable combat as the Joker from The Dark Knight), and using his powers to kill the Space Wolves that made an attempt on going going around the battle to finish off the weakened Thousand Sons. Russ then flailed wildly, and scored a lucky hit on Magnus' eye, blinding him, which enabled Russ to grapple Magnus, and end the fight by breaking him over his knee.

Whether Tzeentch orchestrated this or not I can't say, it's possible, but nothing is said either way that I can recall.

Oh, now I see where the Conan comparison comes from.

Conan was also a skilled, cunning thief, and a wise, capable ruler, not just a drunken barbarian.

So not sure the comparison to Russ is accurate.

Given Russ didn't always keep a level head, there are still much worse leaders to be found.

I quoted the wrong person, Shadowbrand had compared him to Conan.

My response was basically pointing out that Russ beat Magnus through either sheer blind luck or the machinations of Tzeench, and according to some fluff he was dying when he finally went off into the Warp.

Or just a tool?

A tool, both in the derogatory and literal sense. He is the epitome of a useful idiot. Strong, smart enough to get most jobs within reason done, but not so much to be a threat outside of direct physical conflict. Willing to disregard inconvenient beliefs or become an outright hypocrite to achieve the mission. Single minded, predictable, and tough. The emperors attack dog is very much apt with Russ.

Of course, Leman Russ and Angron are still better fighters, Magnus a stronger psyker and AlphariusOmegon and Reboute Gulliman better Generals, but overall Horus was the best.

Horus was the first. That's why he's the favourite.

It was stated that they all represented a facet of the Emperor-Magnus his power and quest for knowledge, Rogal Dorn his honour etc.

Horus was his ambition. Kinda lame.

Or maybe they have, and fine him a bad@$$.
Have you read all the SW books?

Also I can Magnus was just a giant cry baby one little knock in the eye and a smack down and hes crumped and beaten, while Russ was stabbed through the heart by his mind powers, Which tells me Magnus can't take the pain.

No one has any idea of Russ's status. He could be dead in a ditch on an anonymous Daemon World for all we know. At least, as the reader, we know that Magnus is alive.

Mortarion is the greatest I would say he is now the strongest primarch since Horus is dead.

Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.

After he was backhanded by a single Grey Knight? It took about a hundred to take Angron and his goons downs.

The previous GK Supreme Grand Master was killed by Morty, then that made Draigo the Supreme. He jumps over, kills Mortarion, and his first official act as Supreme Grand Master was to carve the name of the previous one into Morty'as heart.
