I hate that they changed GD to a single city. I was going to go this year and all here in Il. I missed last years due to just starting out and no ride.

Been following this since day one, nicely done. Though I don't believe this has been asked if it has my fault. Do you have any more projects for costume work such as this or within 40k? Or perhaps any updates etc to the current SOB costume?

Good question...I guess I have to say I'm not sure what to do next after I finish Raven's Halloween costume ( think it's going to be Hellgirl)...I want to make another chainsword and do a tutorial on it, also I need to start project Airsoft bolter and finish project nerf bolt pistol.....interms of 40k costumes....Maybe an inquisitor costume for myself... And for Raven I think a Cannonness all in white and gold complete with a tricked out cherubim would be cool....
hmmm, that's a lot of projects for as slow as I work...

Ah interesting, I'll be hoping something comes about with the costumes and what not. keep up the good work. Have you thought of maybe xeno related? Eldar,tau, and ork etc and other races? Also if you don't mind me asking another question of you, do you run the forum that is in your link? just curious.

Well it does take 9 months to make a cherubim and you would need her consent.

I must say the costume looked even more amazing in person than in the photos!!! Most costumes look "costumey" or cartoony... but yours looked real due to the amazing detail you added. I've made costumes myself in the past and your blew me away.
My bf (and myself I must admit) couldn't stop staring at the cool chainsaw - that thing was awesome!

I have seen some costume out there, but your costume is just out of this world....its a shame I wasn't there to see it.
This could just inspire me to start my own sister of battle army....very tempting indeed.

Bolter, because it's much more likely to be makeable by most people, doesn't have mechanical parts to mess about with, and it's a very iconic addition to a costume (you can do an excellent commissar just with a coat, a hat, and a half decent boltpistol). From what I gathered from this thread a chainsword is much more complex and probably requires you to have a bolter or boltpistol as part of the costume anyway.

Well, I am fairly sure I could make the chainsword about 1/2 the wieght it is now.
The first one( and only) chainsword I built was much a more "how the hell am I going to make this work?!?!" project then it was a well planned out project.
I have a lot of ways to improve the build.
To be fair ,I will be frank though, the price to make a chainsword is higer becouse you will have to be buying more things then the bolter.
Also there are no lights or anything that needs to be sodering in the bolter...
Perhapse a Mod could put up a poll on the thread?
"Bolter or chainsword tutorial " and run it for like 15 days?
So far Bolter is way ahead. I posted on a few webpages asking and it's like 15 to 8 in favor of the Bolter...
