Catypelius, if you'll change the words around you might get my interest. "We can go get plastered and then play some 40k" is right up my alley. Also, "We can go play some 40k and get plastered" works too.

I also dont mind tournies with comp rules. Its fine as long as its not your opponents doing it...

Nothing worse then someone losing and hitting you for comp cause they just werent as good as you and the blame "your cheesy list"

Nope, I wont be in D.C. I started a new job about six months back and I have very little vacation time.

We can drink and play 40k in any order, I do all the time.

Yeah my girlfriend totally digs it when I have wild outbursts of testosterone, it's even more intense when I boil it down to a focused rage and fail to control my actions in that fashion too.

If management won't remove someone being abusive from their store without your asking, then ask, if management want someone who behaves in that fashion there and you want to stay there with that knowledge... well that's your choice then.

What's a gigant? Or are you referring to a Gargant? Or a giant perhaps? Also, it does depend on the amount of damage caused.. perhaps he should've atleast offered to sell you another one with 50% or more off.

Worst Experience? For me at the LGS. I'm a regular and most of the staff know me. So one day I was checking out the new imperial guard stuff and I see the manager of the store for the first time. The guy next to me was checking out the sprues that the manager laid out so people could check them out. I was in love with the command squad box so I got a box from the shelf and waited. The customer at the counter was talking to the manager for a while so I continued to look around the store.

The manager then comes up to me after a few minutes of looking around and asks me if I'm buying anything, if I wasn't I'd have to go away because his store isn't a place to loiter. I showed him I was going to buy the IG box and he just scowled and said "Pay for it already" So I payed for it at the counter and one of the staff which I knew came and talked with me about the new IG. I told him that his boss was very rude.

I came there another time and saw the manager again. This time I went in to buy a new pot of Dark Angels Green and a pack of City of Heroes CCG on special. The store was empty except for me and two people, and I walk up to the counter to pay but the guy just ignores me. I ask him respectfully but he just keeps ignoring me. After a few minutes of trying to get his attention I just told him that he's the worst manager I've ever met and walked off without buying anything. Since then I've never gone back.

Well I never thought I'd post in this thread as my LGS is freaking awesome, but here I am. Well my friend has really helped the 40k scene by getting our own website and setting up tournaments (we even got to run ard boyz this year) and one of the big factors was we got a lot of people to donate/buy terrain for the stores lack of terrain. Nothing to fancy but still it was pretty good. Well this Friday my friend and I go to the store to find that someone had literally taken all of the terrain and put it on one of the tables not like they were playing any sort of 40k I've ever seen. Basically buildings were stacked up on each other, hills and more terrain was shoved under the table etc... after cleaning up the mess we find that several of the crashed lander pieces were broken off, a building needs to be re-glued and just other pieces were missing from some terrain pieces.

Nothing really major but it's just that we had really worked hard on getting all of the terrain together and putting and painting it just have some kid or donkey-cave to come and mess with it. We don't know who did it, it must have happen during the week and we make sure whoever uses it puts it up after the game is over and the magic crowd doesn't mess with it. Like I said nothing really major just bummed that it happen.

I played in a BMF (Baddest Mother F***er) tournament this past weekend. Single elimination, 1500 points. I brought my Dark Eldar; took down two space wolf players, a chaos daemon player, and an IG player and landed at the top of the heap as the winner.

No issues during the tournament, had a great time....

And afterwards, a couple of people who weren't even in the tournament started complaining on the local forum that I was a douche for bringing a tournament list and only entering the tournament to win, promising that they would never voluntarily play me, that their friends won't play me, and that I'm not welcome in the communty. I'm Shelix on the forums there if you want the entertainment.

Those guys were just sad with the level that they take their miniatures game to.

I'm considering making up a batch of popcorn while reading the flamewar Dash mentioned. It's quite entertaining. I've read a few posts of his on here that I haven't fully agreed with, but I can't fault his actions at the BMF-if you're playing to see who's the best, then bring your best-play casual games with a casual list, play the most competitive list possible at a competitive tourney. I don't think it's rocket science. I'm not gonna join the other site to side with you Dash, but I'll say I'm in support on here. I don't want the guys on the other site to strain their minimum IQs and pop an embolism in their brain while trying to add me to their insults.

from the looks of it, the initial argument started because according to shelix (dashofpepper) someone yawned during a game, and it seemed as he/she found it boring.
i think someone else mentioned shelix having a lame list and because of this the person found the game boring or whatevs.
im on shelix's side for this one, because apparently the guys from the club are [the sort of people who would use a politically incorrect name for mentally disadvantaged people to describe people making poor judgements] to flame someone what appears to be someone yawning.
i also find it expecially funny since shelix started the original message saying he had a great time and that the tourny was awesome or something :p

That isn't where it started, but that was added fuel. This whole thing has OFFICIALLY become the worst gaming experience and the worst LGS I've ever experienced. I went to a second tournament there, the TO played in his own tournament and matched himself up against me. He was changing the rules of the tournament around midway through to try gaining an advantage, measuring extra inches, rolling extra dice, making illegal assaults....BLATANTLY cheating.

I monkey-stomped him anyway.

Me and a Mate whilst looking at some models being in there for about 30 seconds hear the cry from the dude working....
"DID SOME ONE SAY SPACE HULK?"
and quite clearly we had not!
Proceeded to then explain all about it and trying to get us to come back and play it with him, he was lonely, he only had one small kid for
company!

He quizzed me on Warhammer and I made some rubbish up about only collecting fun models with things like the staff of wisdom and the orb of
truth.
He talked to my mate instead.

To add my own little story with GW. The local GW had a run of different managers. One day/evening I wondered in looking for my next project to make. The manager comes over(1st meeting with him, never seen him before), says the usual stuff and I respond in a friendly manner as you do, just looking for my next conversion project. Get into conversation of sorts what I did for a living(call centre in customer service), invites me to a vets gaming night, and I mention that I'm more of a hobbist and dont really play that often. To which he took massive offence and had a full blowen go at me, saying that "I should and you think you are to good for playing the game with all us little freaks, is that it..well". He wasnt just talking it was quite agressive.

Least to say I stood there in complete shock, and I mean it was like did that actualy happen? is he being serious?(which he was as it turned out) I looked at the long term staff member and he just looked back in agreement of What just happened?. At which point I took my leave as any longer I would of had to extend my arm to connect my fist up side his fething head. Now I'll mention at this point I was 24 years of age. So wasnt being pissing with him, I'm not at all immature, so was all friendly converstaion till that point.

Next day I went back in with my missus to get the stuff I looked out, (always run it by the missus especaily when you just dropped £100 the fortnight before). Anyways, went in and the manager was there, he comes over as says looking for anything with the look of disgust across his face to say get out. I say yeah, he walks off sits back down at the store modeling/painting table and strikes up a conversation with the regulars about call centres (knowing full well I work in one) and makes a loud enough remark say that all people that work in a call centre are scum and deserve to die. With rage hitting me instantly like a ton of bricks and not wanting to spend the night in the slammer I exited the shop, got back to my house and tried to let it go. Thought F**k it I aint being treated like that by no muther fether. Called the GW HQ up on customer number and proceeded to clamly make the complaint. Next day the regional manager called me at home and disscussed the matter.
Now this wasnt my entention or goal, but that manager who spoke to me like I was somthing he stepped in wasnt at the store for much longer. Went in there 2-3 days after speaking with the higher manager and he was as nice as pie(wonder why) 2-3 days later he was gone, and gone from the GW company as I heard it. And good fething riddance

Stopped me buying from GW direct for 1-2 years.

Dude... didn't I read that somewhere already?
