I am just hoping that DA don't turn into another BA or SW or even another GK. I would like to see a death wing army that doesn't need the named character to field an all terminator army. Kinda like a space marine bike captain turns bike squads into troops. Maybe have it so a captain in terminator armor turns terminators into troops.

But yes I understand your concern. It seems that theres a difficult line between "Simple but par army" and "Good but OTT army" without a real good middleground

I would like to see a return to the old days when the only thing in a deathwing army was Terminators, dreads, and Land raiders. Tweek it a little with some new stuff like a close combat dread and some different land raiders; a prometheus or a plasma variant would be nice. It would also be nice to see a terminator plasma cannon as well.

i would like a whole set of termies heavies, being relelntless with a HF or ASS cannon/Cyclone is ok, but i want las cannon/plasma or even heavy bolters.

DW Dev sqaud would also be awsome, 4 Heavies in a unit, suck on that SW's long fangs lol, although 8 kraks a turn from a unit with 2+/3++ TH/SS would be far too op

just don't give em the option to tak Th/SS for the heavy support squads.

One is extremely competitive, if not broken. One is stupid and never used except by the stupid that want to lose 600 points in a deepstrike mishap.

I think 4 Assault Cannon on one Termies squad is going to be super broken. But 2 heavy weapons (Assault Cannon, Cyclone ML, Heavy Flamer, Lascannon, Plasma Cannon) for every 5 man squad is not so bad.

Currently the only to get these weapon consistently is with Dreads.

i actually agree with your premise on the squads i was actually trying to remark on what a broken unit that would be broken.

It wouldn't really be that bad, we could have 2 heavys per squad in the last edition. 2 assault cannons is not that devastating, sepecially now that rending only gives an extra D3 on armour penetration rolls. Besides GK get 4 S7 rending psycannons in a purgation squad and people deal with it. 4 cyclones is not a big deal either with heavy armour being so hard to take out anyway. What would be really nice is combination squads with 2 cyclones and 2 heavy flarmers.

Fair enough.

Black Templars can currently run 2 heavy weapons in their 5-man terminator squads, in addition to giving them Tank Hunter or Furious charge. I don't expect we'll get to keep that in the next codex.

4 assault cannons on a Terminator devastator squads? I dig but if GW makes DA plasma focused, I wouldn't mind seeing them with plasma cannons instead. Now 4 cyclone launchers, that'd be something broken.

And I wouldn't mind if they went the SW path at all. The competitiveness of BA and GK but without the slowed feces of Ward? Sign me up.

I'd call it a Plasma Repeater, myself. Stats of a Plasmagun, only available to Deathwing Terminator squads, and give it the shot profile of an Assault Cannon.

Either way, I think it'd be fun to have a "Plasma" Assault Cannon.

Yeah, it was the Plasma Blaster. It was introduced on the Ultramarines 1st Company Captain Invictus but it wasn't a piece of wargear unique to him. It could only be used by terminators and sported two sustained fire dice back in the day (the plasma gun already had one). These days it would work best as an Assault 2-3 weapon with plasma stats or as a twin-linked rapid fire plasma gun (though that does interact oddly with gets hot at that point).

It would be an ideal weapon to bring back, and for once, we would be stealing something from the smurfs instead of vice versa.

Other nifty bits of terminator-only wargear that would be fun to see back are Auto-launchers and Photon Beam Searchlights. Auto-launchers especially would be fairly interesting because it would give terminators assault grenade options again.

I would personally love to see the DA's get their new glory in a Codex,I just hope it's something that lets they run a little unique army not just green marines in robes with lots of bikes and termies.

Str 6 AP 2 plasma missiles - I think we're on to something there....

DW troops stay the same, DW heavy have Plasma cannon/BB/Plasma Missile options. DW Fast Attack, can use drop pod or veil type gear and bounce around.....

the plasma blast gun, it was actually a twin plasma gun/pistol, it was a nice thing and i would expect it to return at some point

its things like this that i would like to see return, all the old mad stuff, like grav guns/ beamers (i know vanilla already has it) rapiers and the like, if any chapter should have the old tech its dark angels
