God, what wasn't an impulse buy. Last 6 months:

1 box of cadians
2 boxes of kroot
Cypher the fallen angel
1 Leman Russ
2 boxes of space wolves
2 dark angel upgrade sprues
1 box of skaven clanrats
around 30 orks on an eBay auction

Oddly enough I find myself strapped for cash at the moment.

I bought a battalion of ogres a few months ago. If I didn't have to worry about the price hike I may go and finish out the army.

Dunno if it qualifies as an impulse buy but jumped on the Infinity offer in March and picked up the rules plus Ariadna, Haqqislam and YuJing deals. It always intrigued me and I liked the look of the minis. Subsequently expanded the armies I picked up about 2 weeks ago.

Got out of Hordes a while ago, sold all my stuff (Trolls weren't appealing to me anymore and didn't like the other factions) and cut down on my Warmachine factions, then saw the Gators and jumped right back in

Suppose I don't really impulse buy, something catches my attention, I mull on it for a week or two, then pick up the faction book/codex and buy an army if I like the book/background fluff. At the moment Dystopian Wars looks appealing but I don't know anyone who plays.

The last impulse buy I made was about a month ago. I was in the Chicago bunker, and I grabbed off the shelf an official GWS hobby drill, and a "how to build terrain" book. I forget the exact name.

The book was pretty good, the hobby drill was a huge failure. Total garbage, it wouldn't hold pins securely (they'd spin when trying to drill pewter), the knurling on it wasn't deep enough to get a good grip on it, and the threads stripped out the third time I used it. I would up throwing it out. I should have grabbed some more brushes instead; I really liked the GWS brushes I have.

I wound up later getting some Windsor & Newton Series 7 brushes, which are very nice, but now I'm just rambling incoherently.

Most of my purchases tend to be impulse buys, or I just get a wild hair up my arse after reading some new (or old) tactica. I recently purchased a squad of 10 Tactical marines to convert into Sternguard to go with my existing Sternguard. I also decided I want to start up a Death Guard army...so I purchased some used stuff from Theophony, that included some Ultraforge models, a couple boxes of metal plague marines and 2 sets of FW Death Guard upgrades....so in advance of that I bought a box of plastic Chaos marines and Minigames was having a sale on GW Metal in lieu of the transition so I ordered Typhus...So I guess after all of that I have proven to be a direct example of ridiculous American Consumerism...

It's been a while for me. Most my hobby money has been going to have my Adepticon Army painted for next year, and that's been planned.

I'd have to say a 1750 point skaven army? Anyone want to impulse buy it from me?

Bought a load of reaper, infinity and hasslefree models as alternative escher models to add to my gang. Got them as a painting exercise, something different to my marines and sisters, probably never game with them but they are great models and it was fun and enlightening finding lots of different companies on the net.

Dark heresy, deathwatch and rogue trader books from ffg.

I told my wife I was going to start selling some of my Magic Cards. She thought that was a good idea, but wanted to know if I was going to put the money I made into savings. I said no, I was planning on buying some Warhammer stuff. She then made the following statement: "That's like selling crack to feed your heroin addiction..." 'Nuff said.

4th edition SM and CSM codecies, plus the second 3rd edition CSM - but I paid about £15 for the lot which is less than the CSM codex sells for new so I'm quids-in!

In a world gone mad, who is left to fight for truth, justice and all that gets you smashed for under a fiver....

First played 40k during 2nd edition, missed out 3rd and 4th, and haven't played 40k since 5th edition - but still read and occasionally paint

Who needs an Armor save when you get 30 of them

Me! I can't remember the last time any of my Ork boyz survived a battle. Even when I win, the most the do is give the enemy some well-deserved comic relief as they die like corn in front of a harvester.

Ork boyz are one of the best troop choices in the game. If they could get a decent anti-tank weapon they would quite possibly be the very best troop choice in the game.

Why do people keep saying that? I can't remember the last time one of my Ork mobs killed anything.
