Thanks Selvaggio! I'm definitely going to make them a lot more orky. I'm still nowhere near done with either of them yet, but here's a bit more progress on the WWII one. There's still a whole bunch more crap to throw on, I'm trying to figure out a good spot to put a big ork "gob" symbol...I'm trying to incorporate in on the nose of the sub, but my current ideas are not totally looking right at the moment.

Anyway, here's my progress so far:

I also made a little snorkel for the grot gunner

Thanks Sentinel!

I think I'm just aboot DONE with the building part... All that's left to do is glue on the last periscope aka peekin' tube on once it dries and.... *shudders* ....riveting...

I didn't glue on his snorkel because it will be infinitely easier to paint the little bugger separately

I carved battle damage all over it, but it's pretty hard to see. It'll hopefully look reallllllll nice when it's painted tho

Let me know what you think!

Mate, great idea, will def have to give that a try...do you think a hair-dryer on a mid/high heat but a low power might help dry it out? Also you've got a great weathering technique going on there, the rust and mud looks awesome!

i think the grot gunner should be blue, like he has come out of the hole too early and gotten frost bite or just really cold. but yea my oppinions aside, the facts
THESE ARE EPIC
not many ork subs around and these are by far in the better half already... keep it up and i am hope in the not so far future there might be a fleet of these bad boyz?

@Ghostflame Thanks! And to be honest I never tried that, but it seems like it's worth a shot. Like you said tho it's prolly a good idea to keep it on a low setting

@bigfish Haha thanks man, and I like that idea, I'll try and see if I can make it come out alright

@TaWaaagh Thanks!

Thanks tough n' orky!

Somewhat noteworthy progress time! I don't think I've been able to make progress this quickly since....ever..

I'm now finished with the "clean" layer-- just about everything is the right color and all that's left to do is get this sucker dirty as hell and all blown to sh*t
(except for the grot, I'm doing him last so I don't mess him up while muddying everything)
And I haven't done anything with the base yet, just sprayed it.

The squad going with this sub is going to be a bunch o pirates

Also, this is the first thing I've ever sculpted ever. It's an RPK for the nob of the nuclear lookin sub. That squad/sub is going to be soviet themed.

It's not too bad for the first thing ever sculpted....butttt it's not really too good either lol

Also,

Yargh.

@Wulfe haha that would be awesome! I think I might make a larger battlewagon equivalent one after these two, and I might just do that... Maybe I'll make it like a magnetized (and therefore usable) diorama or something.

Thanks guys!

Man this thing was a huge pain in the ass to chip/weather! [almost makes me second guess my intentions of a stompa in the near future]
Well it's FINALLY done now, let me know what you think about the weathering, I don't know if I'm totally sold on it...

Here's the grot gunner!

And Bigfish I tried to make him blue-ish to show that he was having trouble breathing under all that water/ground, but it just wasn't coming out right! I had to stick with regular green

I love the model and answering your question about the weathering.. I would do It more in lines from the front to the back to give a sense of movement underground.
