Whelp. After such a long time I haven't gotten much done. I wanted to finish the buggy before posting again, but after a month of not doing that, I'm coming to terms with my utter lack of interest in the tedious process of chipping/weathering...And I'm hoping that posting this will get me to stop procrastinating, finish the damn thing, and move on to bigger things!

The buggy is in it's "clean" stage of paint-everything is the right color--I just need to add some washes to the boys, cover it in mud, and make it generally look all blown to hell









I've also started sculpting *another* thing (despite all the other things that I've started sculpting and not finished)... Let's see if anybody recognizes it so far?


Still MUCH much more detail needs to be done...primarily in the arms department. And also all the surface detail. And also everything else about it.

Not exactly sure where he'll fit into my army either... Probably something to do with the mek, or maybe as a stand in for a got herder or something. Any ideas? Maybe I'll cast him and make a whole squad of them too.

Nobody plays borderlands, eh? Oh well.

Anyway, as it turns out, putting up that last post did help! Got just enough fire under my butt to get it done. Finished the last warbuggy, which also means that my entry into the ork vehicle competition is complete! Woo!

Thanks guys, I know I've been out of the game a wee bit, thanks for comin back!

I figured I should probably actually build a mek, since he's been building all these fun toys. Nothin particularly fancy, I actually had a much more bad ass picture in my head of him, but when it came to putting the pieces together he didn't exactly come out as I originally thought. Much more static than I had planned.

Well anyway, here's the mek behind the machines: Big Mek Hind Grinda (wittier name pending)

I must admit, I think I went a little freaking nuts with the blood. His face is nearly completely covered lol. Since it is ink, I'm not actually sure if I'll be able to fix it though unfortunately. I did want it to look like he was this blood covered maniac hauling ass toward the nearest enemy, but I think there's a weeee bit too much blood on his face.

To be honest I think the blood is genius. It looks great. The Ork deathheads (or whatever they call the ork face thingy) are all about intimidation.

Agreed, and I usually HATE blood effects on minis. But you pulled it off nicely

just one question about your big mek though: do I recognise a piece of a guitar straplock used for the KFF?

Thanks, and actually it's a piece from a Dell laptop power cord. It used to hold a rubbery strap that went around the converter box to keep the cord wound around it and organized when not in use. Now it's on my mek's back. I do see what you mean though it does look a lot like a guitar straplock--and really it pretty much did the same thing.

I have some pretty serious ADD--the mek is almost done, but I started on yet another project. I'm making a few objectives for a sort of "recover the geneseed" mission.


I looted the banner from something a made a few years ago, so that's not the best quality and I may redo it later, but I finished off this one:

Once I get a decent sized army I'll be making terrain for an orky town, and even orks gotta go somewhere. I'll be experimenting with that stuff used to make water effects for this, so I dunno how it'll come out, but I can't imagine it being too difficult to make something look crappy. Those black spots will be bubbles once I get the water effect stuff on it.

Grah I want to do nob bikers, but they just have so many damn parts to paint, I think I'd get sick of em before finishing them. I still have yet to play a 6th edition game, what is this I hear about all individual regular nobz/nob bikers being characters, but meganobs NOT?
