You got some pretty cool ideas, love the fenders on the second buggy a lot and the blood effect looks awesome (even if I usually don't like splatter minis )

Subscribed and looking forward for some more of your minis!

I second the stealing of the hummer, both for my orks AND my guard >

Thanks hindenburg! (and wib, sorry I forgot to respond before)

And also here's a family portrait so far:

They just look so happy together

There will be a third one, but I think I'm going to put that off and switch gears for a little while... I hear a lootin' party of ork pirates calling my name in the meantime...

Thanks everyone! I didn't realize I second page yet so I didn't see the other comments. Woo I got a second page! Haha and by all means loot it! I actually looted the idea for the humma too.

And the splatter effects were done with red pen ink, just be careful not to touch it for a day or two while it dries.

@Spartan Thanks I've just uploaded the template for it here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/316707-.html --though I claim no rights to it and I did not create it, nor do I have any idea who did create it. It's supposed to be done with varying thicknesses of plasticard, though I just used cardstock with wood glue to harden it and it worked just fine.

Thanks, and a question, you said it will be a warbuggy, why not use as a truck instead?

@ Spartan-kun It's mostly because I need warbuggies and don't really need trukks. I could really play it as both, but I have bigger better ideas for trukks that are (hopefully) very soon to come. I would say what mullet steve said, that it doesn't have the transport capacity, but it really is just about the same size as the model for the trukk... I just really liked the idea of building it and I think a hummer would still fit the description of a warbuggy in the codex, so I'm going with that.

@mullet_steve Hahaha well I spose there's a price for eeeverrrythinggggg

I know what you mean, I only need two trukks, whilst i need like six buggies.

Bigger better ideas for trukks?? Are you willing to give some details?

What a joy it is to see this thread! Very original! and brilliantly executed. The quad buggie is my favorite though the humvee is a close second.

Hehehe... Let's just say that some of the nobz in my army have a fanatical, and somewhat highly disciplined following of boyz (as disciplined as orks can get, at least) and due to their collective fanatical beliefs they can do things that otherwise wouldn't really be possible...

I have plans for the equivalent of 2 trukks and 1 battlewagon, along with their respective squads. I just hope that I'll be able to properly execute the builds so that they'll be cool and funny, rather than just kinda weird and dumb. I'm def going to start on them as soon as I finish the rokkz, which I'm just putting the last touches on.

EDIT I just reread it and realized that was incredibly vague haha, sorry I just don't want to give away detail of what it is until I have some pics of at least the first prototype

Your ATV is my favorite! Well done Giving me ideas to build my own too hehe (I'm a thief...).

About the trukk... do you read The Discworld? Are we going to see a 'luggage' style trukk?

Haha actually that is very interesting, but it's not that, I only remembered what the discworld was after googling it.

It's kind of more like, I thought it would be funny to build something that's ordinarily physically impossible, except for the fact that they're orks. And so my way of justifying it is because sometimes if enough orks collectively believe that something will work, it will work. It says in the codex that a lot of ork contraptions don't normally work for anybody else because they haven't actually actually built them properly, but since the orks believe they work, they simply work.

So each of the nobz has a certain personality that goes along with the vehicles, and their squads provide enough collective psyche to make it work. And if it weren't for this psychic ability that orks don't even realize they have, they would just be a bunch of orks playing dress-up that may or may not have ever even made it to the battlefield

Thanks guys!

And you would get an internet cookie, but there are in fact two, count them, TWO battlewagon pieces on it. Haha the grill in the front and the piece on the tail gate that's got the hookie thingies on it are from the BW kit I'm pretty sure. But the rest are all assorted truck bitz and cardstock

And I'm making moderate progress on the two trukks, should have pics within a week

Well I suppose it's time for an update...

I haven't gotten as far as I wanted, BUT I have made enough progress to make it worth an update I think. Orkz is made for fightin! And they've got so much willpower that they're damn well getting to that fight, and whatever transports they happen to have at their disposal will be bringing 'em there.

The whole idea came from a campaign that I'm planning. One of the targets for the imperial player is going to be an ork naval dock, and if they decide to attack a different location after receiving the intel, the orks from the dock will bring the fight to him! 'Da subz will pop up (to the surprise of both the ork and imperial players) at the next battle and they'll be immobile from that point on, after dumping out a squad of boyz or grots of variable size depending how well the ork player rolls. I figure in friendly games though if I need more trukks there shouldn't be any problems with some subs tearing around the board to drop off the boyz.

So without further adieu, 'DA SUBZ

Starting with the shells:

And just like a good elementary school student, I used paper machet to finish their shapes:

Still very much so WIP. They're also each going to have a twin linked big shoota turret on them, and are going to be covered in rivets and plates and all kinds of other stuff.

The two subs will each have their own theme. The older WWII style one will be dropping off a squad of pirates, and the nuclear sub will be soviet themed
Here's the bits going into the nob kaptin of "The Orkula" nuclear sub

As my first attempt to sculpt anything ever, I'm in the process of sculpting an RPK for him to wield along with his power klaw. Though it's not turning out very good at the moment...

I also get distracted very incredibly easily, and just started making a squig for no apparent reason lol

If you guys have any ideas or critiques (or advice on sculpting, I'm pretty bad at it at the moment) on any of the above, please by all means let me know, I want all this stuff to come out kick ass and it's still early enough in the process to add cool stuff!

cool Subz mate, I would put something like a giant octopus or a squid on the nose of the nuclear one, You are already sculpting, make It useful.
Why not a figurehead on the tip of the older one, maybe with a ork feel to It?
