Haha liking old Nubnutz a lot, looking forward to seeing the mob done!
Also, if you wanna do biker bosses, just put two wheelz on a deffkopta and glue a PK on the rider (and chop of the Flying -fingz)
That's what I intend to do....

Hmmm... Interesting I'll definitely consider that if I do make a mob of bikers. Most of the internet seems to be saying that they're more powerful than meganobz, so naturally I chose the wrong unit to start building.

Makin some progress on the nobs!
Their bodies are all done, aside from riveting, then all that's left is locating enough guns and power klaws for their arms
In order from left to right:
Da Boss - Teachin da boyz ta krump good an proppa
Brainz - Comes up with all the cunnin' ideas and plans for the boyz (and directly responsible for their demise every single time)
Old Nubnutz- He lost count after 2, but he's the oldest ork in the whole waaghhh! --and also, doesn't like to talk about why they all call him nubnutz
Deffkilla- Stompin da enemies dead
Steve - Nobody f ks with Steve
Some of their names will make more sense once they're completely finished and painted
And the back of em
Now just a lot of pinning/green stuffing/ripping PKs and guns off random ebay models for the arms and then it's time for some paint!

Boss is all done!
If he looks familiar at all it's probably because he was heavily *inspired* [stolen] from the internet.
Nubnutz is about half done with chipping:
The other 3 greenskins just got green skin...and that's it:
Brainz has all the best ideas. He decided it would be best for him to hold all of the stick bombz so that way "da uddur guyz" will always know where ta gets em. He has a combi-rocket or a TL shoota [if he forgot to wire the rocket proppa]
Deffkilla will be smashing a poor screaming guardsman if I can fit him onto his base. Though I'm debating changing his name to "Jawz" Since he's already got a big metal gob on top of the scratchbuilt one. What do you guyz think fits better with him and the squad, deffkilla or jawz?
This is Steve. Nobody F s with Steve.

And after a nice lengthy delay, I finally have a legal squad! (though not all 5 yet)
Here's da boss, brainz, and nubnutz all together
Nubnutz from the front:
Back:
Givin the ol' bronx salute
Brainz from the front:
And back with it's electrikey powery bitz:
He painted his armor red cuz he thinks it makes him go faster.... He's got all the cunnin' plans...hur.. hurrr...
And the other two are ever closer to being complete. Deffkilla's base is very loosely thrown in front of him to give an idea of what I'm planning for him. If the guardsman fits on the base with him, it'll look like he's doing a smash attack. But if the guardsman doesn't, it'll just look like he's running with his arms flailing....either way it's a win-win, I think.

Thanks brudda
All 5 are done!
Steve and jawz jammin out
Just Steve:
Nobody f s with steve.
Though I'm still debating between having the guardsman or not. I've taken some shots of deffkilla with and without, tell me what you think. Does it make the base too busy? Is it so badass that it doesn't matter how busy the base is? Is it not really that cool looking? Let me know!
Top down of the guardsman going out with a boom
Obviously I will paint the guardsman much better if I do go with it.
The other thing is, smashing the guardsman is a static event, where the rest of the ladz are made to look like they're slowly but purposefully moving up the board, would the smashy base not look good in the context of the entire squad?
Thanks for looking!

Keep the guard, he's fine
Smashin' 'umies iz alwayz good 'nuff for buzy base
And he's still purposefully moving up the board. He just happens to be purposefully moving over a guardsman at the same time

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Got jawz all did up
The poor bastard's last hope
[edit] damn! I didn't realize the grenade was covered by his pk when I took/posted the pic
And started on the next project:
Bought these suckers from someone who already started trying to scratchbuild some dakkajets out of these spitfires but lost interest, so I figured I'll give it a try and see what I can come up with. They even came with flier bases and everything. I'm prolly only gonna build one for now since I have so many other things that I want to build too. He had some guns on it but I've torn them off since this pic to make them look better
Magnetizing EVERYTHING
Had to make a slot for the base to fit on the plane. There's a thin slit of metal for the magnets to stick to, between the plane and the piece that I cut out that's shaped like the base.
magnetized the prop so that it doesn't break every time I transport it

Thanks guys!
Should have some pics of the dakkajet soon.
And as for the muddy effect, I'll start out by saying that I pretty much exclusively use the cheap crappy paints from walmart.
After I paint everything their proppa colors, they look very cartoony and bad with these paints. So first I do the chipping with white, then brown, then metallic grey in patches around corners and stuff. I then drybrush anything that's metal with black so that it's not so damn shiny. Then I do spots of "burnt sienna" from the folkart paints (basically a brown/burgundy color.) all over the model in the form of using a sponge to make patches of mud. When it looks like there's enough random muddy spots on the model, I do a light drybrushing over the entire model with "Golden brown" from apple barrel paints--again, crappy walmart paints.. To me, that last drybrush step makes the whole model look a lot more realistic, in one step it not only mutes/blends the colors a little, adds some slight highlights, and adds more to the dirty look, all at once. And It gives their skin a more olive color rather than the lime green-ish that they start out as. After all the muddying I then hit it with a black wash, which helps to tone down areas that I went a little too crazy with the dry brushing, and it also adds shading to the skin and everything.
