Very cool!

I've always found the idea of a dwarf rogue/thief vaguely amusing, although they have undoubtedly done a good job with that.

I cant see why. Dwarves tended not to have much in the way of wizards, being bannedfrom the clas until 3.0 in D&D and being known to be magically inept outside of artifice in most settings.

So really dwarves are restricted to fighters rogues and the odd priest. Dwarves are highly technically skilled by copariosn to most other races and rogue levels are a good way of representing this.

I think the rogue character class fits dwarves fine, just that we have way too few decent dwarf rogue sculpts. This one is most welcome.

The finalised version of the attack dice. They've gone for the same shape as the new movement dice, with the same number of hero shields, evil shields and wounds as the original game plus the additional HQ and ? sides (critical success and failure?).

We finally get to see the selection. Nice characterful selection, yet without needing to do anything too wacky to get the strong character showing through. They are all generic adventurers rather than a freak show, even allowing for some of the charactr titles. Yet despite being very generic they all show strong personality. Allowing for the 'we redid the elf eight times to get him right' it looks like we are up for twenty five superlative RPG miniatures/Heroquest character pawns here. I for one am happy, are you?

My thoughts.

One change highlighted in red, female merc has had the op. must Gamezone now brace for transphobia comments.
I think the male female ratio for heroes is fine at sixteen to nine. What is better is that skimpy clothing is kept to limited subselection. Only three of the female heroes are sexualised, including the obligatory almost naked barbarian, who could be discounted for that reason. She may look nice but her head is just on the fighting. The female elf looks playfully seductive, the renegade doesn't try to look overtly seductive, she is just dressed to kill. The bounty hunter is fully covered but has a strong feminine edge to her. Very nicely done, I am impressed frankly.

The blokes are also characterful, a mix of worn in warriors, handsome playful swashbucklers, old young weak and strong and you can see their personalities on their faces and in their stance. I am wondering if I can paint well enough to do them justice.

The plucky kids look innocent, and way out of their depth. Girl with a borrowed enchanted staff, boy who is a sureye shot, both turning up to vanquish evil, and likely getting in heaps of trouble. They are walking scenarios by and of themselves. Now I see them it was a envisioned call to include them in the game I am happy I bought them, and I think those who did not, or didn't get them for free as an early bird offer, might want to spend part of their voucher to buy the pair.

it looks like we get four elves and five dwarves. Renegade is an elf? Tracker is a dwarf?
Note that two characters don't even have colour images, I doubt they currently have sculpts either then.

Really warmed up for my set now, whether or not the actual game is worth playing.

With stuff this good I am really rooting for the chaos warriors to be something impressive. The bar is now set very high, and the alpha monsters need to have an even higher presence on the tabletop.

Im really impressed, originally I thought they'd struggle to make so many distinctive heroes but there isn't a single one here that I dislike.

My personal favourites are the insane mage, the female paladin and the archer raider.

Heres a google translation of the post:

Hello again adventurous! How about that vacation? We almost did not remember what I was seeing sunlight and certainly needed a break. After so long working with a really high intensity level continuously we decided to close the shop during Holy Week for the whole team could recuperate. It worked, and although this morning we needed coffee rivers to undo a powerful spell of sleep, we're all back on track.

Point two of the agenda: a couple of typos in the last update. Although we had originally intended that the doors funcionasen the manner described, with two pieces that fit together, frame and door, finally we have opted for producing this piece of terrain independently. That is, on the one hand will have a marker on the other door open and one closed. When a hero is in front of a closed door and opens it, one element for another and ready replaced. Faster, durable and with less hassle for those who go there to paint. Thus, the game now contains 18 open and 4 closed doors. If you need more, soon you shall count with packs of 5 doors of one kind or another.

The second Errata for the size of the box, on which we danced the finger at some number. As the board 57 × 78 cm folded in half, currently estimates that the size of the box HeroQuest 25th Anniversary will be around 58 × 40 cm. We will tell you more as soon as we prototypes Blank's check printing and how about all fits together.

And after the mea culpa, what if we stop stories and started to teach how it is becoming the game? For starters, serve this small sample of the 25 heroes that will be available initially: 8 Core Set, 15 pack of 2 young adventurers and intrepid ...

I concur qwith that, though with a caveat, we haven't seen all the sculpts and while each hero is well conceptualized I have some misgivings. Two so far.

The Wizard holding his staff horizontally looks good, but might cause practicality issues in game, I will convert so he holds his staff upwards and forwards at an angle. I suspect that the right hand and staff are a separate piece so its isn't really a conversion, the elbow will be slightly out, but probably not noticable under the sleeves.

I never liked the Cazadora's fighting blades, especially the dagger point on the inside of a sickle. I will likely replace them or trim them down.

Love the serene pose on the paladin and the cocksure swashbuckling raider. He will charm away your woman and steal your purse, but apparently only if you deserve it. Not yet sure on the last part.

Not too happy about this, archways are good, closed doors are good, but opened doors should have a door insert included, to be posed open.
If they mean separate frame and door and separate one piece with door then I will be happier. But it appears the open doors have been added to the original total, which are in fact just open archways.

19 x 26 squares, plus a tiny bit for the border perhaps.

3cm squares, thats significantly chunkier than most games of this ink provide. Thumbs up.

That google translate is not that bad, but if you need help understanding any specific part of the text let me know.

About the doors.
In the beginning they said that there would be archways and doors that you could clip-on/clip-off but that idea had to be dropped.
From what I can read there will be two different elements: "opened doors" and "closed doors".

When they say "opened doors" I think they are only referring to an archway or frame without an actual door in it.
The "closed doors" should be the archway with the door.

About the last part where they talk of the delay, there is nothing new there.
They only thank the support they are receiving via email and promise that they are back to work at full steam after last week's short vacations.
(I think I read somewhere that they had previously skipped the 2014 summer and christmas vacations)

I'm betting on a summer delivery.
There seems to be some work left to finish and with that there is also the possibly for some more delays .

I like the art and the ideas behind all these heroes, but I would have preferred some more info on what rules or mechanics set them apart from each other.
Let's hope they start making more regular updates this time.

Well
LINEA DE MOLDE CASI INEXISTENTE

means

LINE PRINT ALMOST NOT EXIST

Which I could broadly work out even in the Spanish.
So it looks like a 9 minute video of the same models saying no mold lines,

Thats good but again isn't news, we have seen the models all before including the lack of mold lines.

There is too much filler and not enough news. We see the same items over and over, it's getting suspicious actually and even a little grating. No news I can take fake news builds anxiety not expectation, and comes up to one conclusion: delayed release.

Sure.

There was some talk on the spanish forums that the HQ25 minis came with very noticeble mold lines, and lots of extra bits of resin that would be very dificult to clean and assemble for people expecting a "boardgame" (as oposed to a "miniatures game").

In this video Forja y Desvan show several HQ25 minis and compare to other minis from diferent companies.
They claim that the HQ25 minis have almost no mold lines and that they think it will be easy to clean and assemble for everyone.

In the end they also say that they are expecting some new minis from Gamezone and that new videos with new content should be expected by monday or tuesday.
Keep in mind that ForjaYDesvan are not an official news channel for Gamezone, they only show what little they can wrestle out of Gamezone who are notorious for not wanting to show anything before the final delivery.

Now if Gamezone is really just being paranoid and holding back or if they use this excuse because they really don't have anything else to show is something that I don't have an answer to.

Gamezone are hard at work, we know that much, and they laid on extra staff so they are onto the problem rather than shirking it.

I can also also understand Gamezone saying little until release in case any legal problems occur.

FyD Forja y Desván TV appear to me to be a painting service related indirectly to Gamezone. Until today seen little of the sactual painting though

I'm really hoping that the '100' quests that we're supposed to be getting are well thought out. Although the original only came with a dozen or so in the basic box, having half a dozen expansions and 25 years worth of fan made quests online meant you never struggled to find something that felt new and fresh.

With a completely incompatible board, If the official questbook (or 2 books if you pledged for level 3) aren't good, we'll effectively be losing the option to go back through decades of tried and tested missions.

I agree, I hope there are some decent big room tiles in the modular set. From my experience with the original, having small rooms does make it feel like there's more to explore, but there has to be a balance between having lots of rooms and having enough space to fight in those rooms.

When you consider that, a lot of the time, 4 squares are going to be occupied by the heroes, as soon as you put something like a table down in 75% of these rooms there will be seriously limited movement options. It will be hard for more than 1 or 2 monsters to be able to attack in a single turn, which I find is the only way for a GM to have a decent chance of winning.

I can't see why you would ever use 4 2x3 rooms in a single mission.

There was mention of the tiles being double sided though wasn't there? If that's the case you could probably just put two side by side on top of the board to make a larger room, assuming that there are at least two tiles with similar/the same colours.

Metal bits, no problems, so long as they glue to resin ok. If not then problems.

I like the artwork, less pumped about the miniature, to make this work the serene expression on the face needs to be painted just right, or she will look boring.

As for the board pieces, as they are modular double siding only effects flooring, the pieces have a wall rim and placing two side by side will strongly imply separate rooms.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I spoke to one of Gamezones retailers yesterday at Salute.
i go to them most times I attend Salute , adn often top up my Bretonnians with Gamezone miniatures from there.

So i figured they would be good people to ask about Heroquest.
They wont pre-order it the reason not to pre-order is because Gamezone is best described as overly laid back.

Gamezone are honest to trade with (though I heard that already from other sources) but are exceptionally disorganised being artists more than businessmen. Catch them on a good day and the work gets done immediately, otherwise you might wait two months before they do anything. Siestas are involved somehow, or so it seems.
This is a very Spanish way of doing business and one I can well believe of a Spanish small business.
Gamezone will work hard to make a quality product, that they can be relied upon to do, their artistic talent is above question, and their ethos of itself is fair.

I was warned that Gamezone is not the best company to send a cheque to unless you see the products being shipped on the day, which doesn't reassure crowdfund backers, but any unreliability is due to their laid back nature rather than any intent to deceive.

Gamezone have frequently answered every question their business customers have set EXCEPT about Heroquest. Those questions just get blanked.

One anecdote given to me so we know what type of people we are dealing with.
Five years ago Gamezone themselves came to Salute, they were well received in the industry and made good business.
They Fed Ex'ed their stock for the day to Salute, it arrived in boxes from Spain and the Gamezone team just came by train. Simple. However they didnt tell anyone about this, so Warlord's (Salute show organisers) had to accept a delivery of several boxes out of the blue which they handled as a courtesy. After the show finished they packed up that stall, refilled the remaining boxes and left the building.

As final packing away just before 7 o clock Warlord's noticed the stack of boxes. As the company manager I spoke to was a trade partner of Gamezone they asked them about the boxes. The manager phoned Gamezone to find they were already on the train home halfway on the way to the channel tunnel. As far as Gamezone were concerned Fed Ex would collect the excess stock the following Monday, completely ignoring that the exhibition centre hiring terminates on the same day (Saturday), and nothing would be allowed to remain by the venue owners. The company manager, as a courtesy to Gamezone, took the boxes amongst the stock they had to take home, and allowed Gamezone to Fed Ex them from their company storeroom rather than Salute.

The impression was that Gamezone are far from a nightmare to deal with, in fact they are rather agreeable, just painfully naive. A bunch of head-in-the-clouds artistes who have no idea how to do business, and are rather innocent.
The trolls at boardgamegeek, which broadly includes the official sanctioned opinion, try to make out Gamezone are a bunch of conmen. I see nothing to support that, but it is clear they have bitten off more than they can chew with Heroquest, and I hope it doesn't hurt them, or us.
