Runnin up on ya.

And.....FUNDED!!

That was fun. Special thanks to scarletsquig for the updates.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Agreed, Thanks SS for all your efforts, both here and on the Mantic Forums.

I caved in towards the end and pledged so I can get models for all the units that I liked the concept sketched for:

Golems, Ogres, Trolls and Werewolves.

Now I just hope that Mantic has learned their lesson and the models really do end up looking like the concepts!

if you go for $225 you'll get a bunch of models you can use, and a bunch you have no use for.
as do we all.
I would think you'd know what to do with that, in your own domain

Lol, you'd think so . I actually am a rather poor salesman- I tend to let things go on the cheap when I want to be rid of them, and pay top dollar when I want them! Also, too jaded by seeing deals gone wrong to really trade anymore, so it's all buying/selling using Paypal and the safeguards it gives.

I successfully resisted the urge to donate, but will watch their production with great interest. A local FLGS just opened and is carrying a Ton of Mantic, so it will be cool to see some of these things in-person eventually!

I also wasn't too happy selecting the 'no reward' option when what I really want is the "Buy One Get One" option x4!

I'm sure it will all sort itself out in the end...

I think Mantic should commission a likeness of SS mounted on a My Little Pony for all his hard work!

Anyway, Mantic will send out a survey to everyone to see what they want! Hopefully, the no rewarders will get one too!

A lot of 'good faith' pledges here... Mantic should work hard to make sure everything is up to snuff, I'd think!

yep.
I actually made two $225 pledges (and some change); looking at how they did in terms of keeping sculpts close to the concepts lately, I have full faith in this endeavor

...and anyway, at that price, I get almost three complete, decently sized armies plus a boatload of gak to trade for a few hundred quid; I'm happy. even if, God forbid, not every sculpt turns out as awesome as one might hope.

I am pretty stoked about the Cat Cavalry coming in at the end there. Now I have all my choices down for the BoGoF, and they're all pretty much the Celestine forces. Will be interesting to see how they turn out.

Not too shabby to see all of the activity overnight, not to mention Cat Cavalry and something that looks like it follows the lineage of the Chaos Dwarf Boar Centaur War Machines!

Well done!

Now I might need to change a couple of BOGOFs...

I imagine it'll be a little later than that, Hulk - though I would expect to see one down the line.

Glad I got into this at the $225 level - the amount of freebies that'll be turning up next year is nuts - and, in the meantime, I have quite a nice Orc army to paint up...

In a few months the 2nd version of the WP rules are due, in just over a year the 3rd - and therefore hardback book if they follow the same pattern as KoW - is due, so expect it in just over a year IMO.

I'd hope/expect they do the Warpath one after they've produced and sent out all of the stuff from this one - else they risk some Avatars of War-style backlash on asking for money before having met current obligations. Yes, it's a bit different, but close enough. They've earned an awful lot of goodwill from the community with this KS, so I can't see them being silly enough to damage that with a too-soon Warpath one.

probably a good year from now. the revised Warpath rules are coming out soon, and they'll go into another round of community playtesting. then a few months to do the book layout and then plan a proper kickstarter with stretch goals... wouldn't be surprised if next july or august we got the official Warpath launch kickstarter.

Got an email from Mantic, and that will be happening since they noticed this thread, and they're awesome like that.

Didn't quite have enough spare cash this month to make a $100 pledge, but will get a skeleton dog handler anyway instead of having to hunt it down on ebay next year!

Hopefully there will be a little more advance warning before the next Kickstarter, this one came completely out of nowhere and I had zero savings. We were discussing the idea of Mantic doing one over on Warseer about a month or so before it happened, but I had no idea they'd take the idea on board and go ahead with it so quickly.

It is great to see so many new people giving Mantic a go because of the kickstarter deals, it has been a good show of just how well Mantic really listens to its customers, having polls on the stretch goals to put up, taking on board some requests, being totally flexible with specific requests (such as an extra $5 to ship the rulebook seperately, flexibility with choosing different armies at the higher pledge levels, adding smaller army deals to the special extras etc. etc.), being totally fine with people making 2 different kickstarter accounts to double up on their freebies, getting the Mummy concepts up before the end since a lot of people asked for them... they did a whole lot of stuff and made it into a totally brilliant campaign, right up until the absolutely insane closing few hours, where they originally said that $290k would be the last goal, but then the comments asked for more so they kept putting up stretch goal after stretch goal, taking the campaign right down to the wire, with the final stretch funded 20 minutes before the end. It was crazy good fun to watch the comments turn into a real-time chat room, full of giddy backers.

3rd biggest board/tabletop game in kickstarter history! Will be 4th after SW finishes, but that's still really impressive considering the fact that the kickstarter site usually isn't all that interested in wargames compared to board games.

Congratulations it is well worth you did a better job at organising information then they did. And I am sure they got a lot more support thanks to that.

Hmmm I don't have the option to select elite armies with my pledge. Sent a message to Mantic to ask how I should proceed to do this.

Okay. Apparently it was the dashes that were the problem. Silly online forms. :/
