Someone in the past did a M.O.S.H. unit. Was a display board for his Mad Doc. Very well done I may add also. Hope I can find a pic. Last time I brought up something like this I never found a pic and ended doing a mock up for Gitz for a grot Unibike. Please great Dakka gods let me find the pick.
Found the link. http://www.garbo.org/40k/scenery/M-O-S-H.html

Was never a big fan of Mavis tbh, I was briefly caught in the temptation of a sarcastic squigapillar called Arfur though
And as a bonus it appears that the Vegas-bot and Edna bear a certain resemblence to each other, so I think I have my face, can't go wrong with two references for the price of one can you? I'm thinking I'll try and put it over a static-filled screen, so need to find a good technique for painting static, possibly stippling greys and black?
Nice find schank Love the dozer blade table, better than the ones I've come up with so far. The sentikopta's nice too, had plans for something like that. And now I'm wondering about what parts I need for a 'HotLipz' and a 'Radar'

Well, not a lot of hobby time recently, and what little I had I tried to spend doing, rather than dakka-ing Now that doesn't mean I've got lots done, in fact, very little. I have been using a small voodoo doll and a brace of lesser demons to try and loot some of weety's speed skill, but that misfired and now I have a hyper-active zombie demon shuffling at high veocity around the boat. Don't mix and match your majicks people
So just one guy fully built
Chorlton:
This guy deserves the Chorlton moniker more than the previous weilder obviously. Naturally the 'ard boyz need access to rokkits as well as a big shoota. The front should be better, I've been toying with this one for ages and not been able to devise a front I really liked, but just got a sudden urge to get him finished so just started on him. It'll do, but I may come back to this idea if a nice front comes to mind
And a few random daubings on some of the newer guys (Very wip - just making it look like I'm progressing)
Tonka-tink
I'm thinking a nice bright yellow for the tracks, just oozing nonchalance and subtlety
Nob & Nob
Sorry Arakasi, laziness and forgetfulness conspired to keep the smaller arm in place. Laziness ensured I kept it there, forgetfulness ensured I didn't bulk it up a bit with some metal plates bolted to the skin - I've only just recalled that was my plan as I linked the pic
Squigen in the head, sq..sq..squigen in the head
TV Head ?
Just a test to see how it looks, wasn't convinced when I first did it, it's grown on me since. Think my main concern was I've had a mental image of the lower buttons being a 'mouth' to the screen's 'eye' as it were, and so the it jarred at first. Still like the idea of static on the screen, but still not sure how to pull that off, maybe just a neutral colour for the screen itself, maybe some colour in the eyes...
Even managed to get Chorlton redded up a bit
And finally some paint has managed to drip onto Tek-Masta Gutwerkz
Wanting to chip up the armour and the legs, possibly hand-painting it as I've not pulled off sponging on small surfaces very well so far. Or I may just practice a bit more and try to get it down, I do like the effect I've got on bigger pieces.
Thanks for stopping by, watch out for the Gingerbread Ork on your way out, he's been a bit prickly lately...

I don't come in here and leave comments as often as I should. Because the stuff you do is great (and in some cases very funny). I'll definitely be using this thread for inspiration if I decide to build a pit slave gang, when my scavvies are done. The highlights since my last post are below.
The bionic leg and arm and I really like the black ork face mask with the wires.
I think I have a new favourite. The big lense head really make him cute in a good way. I also imagine that the track unit runs off two stroke..the engine at the back is really cool.
"Aw look at that sir...what is it, aw its so cute?"
"Oh boy its a Cybork. Get your weapons ready were under attack!"
"Awwww I wanted to play fetch with it".
Now I know TV head should be the cute one but I find him really creepy.
Great stuff

How about some old rabbit ear TV antennas? Paint the screen to look like the reception is all static-y and fuzzy. (I just realized I'm probabally showing my age with these comments.....) Very fun stuff. We'd make all sorts of krazy konvershuns when we were playing Gorkamorka.

Nice to see you back monkey but i cant blame you for wanting to work more than dak. latest work is very good, for some reason i am particularly liking the skin tones of all of them , maybe its just the darker shots?
Tv head is so freaky looking like a friendly sociapathic cartoon character from a over nice 50s tv show or something although i do see where you are thinking of doing a more toothy static option , maybe somethng like this ?
maybe you should consider paper static if you go down this route?

weety - Thank you! Finished-ish is a pretty good description of the state most of my stuff ends as
PDH - Cheers! Likewise my comments on yours Yep, when Tonka-tink's engine is chuggin' away his telescopic chassis bounces up and down and his jaw flaps merrily away A regular at the low-rida meets around the camp. Never mistaken for a joyful robo-puppy more than once though
Arakasi - Thank you, I said 10 Hail Morks in penance. Yep, it'll be more orky, that was just a test to see if I liked eyes and mouth on the screen. Need to try some static tests too. Triangular buttons, hmm, next time. Well, maybe not 'next', but soon
Mr. Konrad - Staticy and fuzzy is what I'm aiming for eventually...I think Glad you enjoyed.
neil - Cheers! There's some new skin tones in there, but they're also badly lit, so could be either you like Cheers for the pic I still like both styles for TV-head, think I'll probably do a few mock-ups on some plasticard blanks and see what they look like...
Scarper - Thanks guy! TV-head will probably switch styles a few times before he finds his face...(low growl)'Where's my face?'
GG - Thank you! Just a nose? That's a route I hadn't considered, possibly some deep-rooted aversion to noses from the clown nose looking eyeball earlier The bunny ears are cool, but will depend on the final (well, possibly final) face-mate.
And so onto tonight's main attraction..well, main-ish, anyway
Bit more of that coloured water type stuff been splashed about a bit, not so liberally it's actually worth showing much, but even at this stage I like the look of
Da Judj
One of the top Roolz Nobz from Morka-City One, this guy joined up with Upzag & Grimsnik after a nasty incident involving some Squiggoth Rex blood, an inquisitive grot orderly and his neighbour. His arm was replaced with bioniks and the half-chewed remains of his head (and brain) were sealed into a helmet.
Nob (possibly trophy hunta)
Still need some tidying and GS, banna pole, and probably a rokkit, either mounted between the shoulders or under the shoota. Finally found a use for an ultrasmurf piece too
Shoota boy
He's taken an 'heroic dose' of da Dok's Speshul 'shrooms, and is now busily blasting flutterbys out of the sky. They're rainbow coloured and smell of 'urty. And only he can see them. Lot of GS work yet to do.
Thanks for stopping by, join us soon, same bat-channel, different bat-time....

So do you effectively double your boyz-per-box, doing all this chopping, adding and convertin? I've noticed you're only using one half of that one's body, so I'm guessing we'll see the other half one of these days, with a cybork'd upper body.

Right... first - you need to slice off the screen from TV Head and magnetise several plasticard replacements - that way you can change his face to match his (or your) mood!
Trophy hunta is compensating for something?
All looking good (as always). Like the bionics on Shoota boy - reminds me of what I'm doing with my Meganobz (now where did they get too?)

I just remebered what tv head reminds me of ..
http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110430225741/fallout/images/e/e2/Yesmanterminal.jpg well that and the tv witch from willow the wisp Evil Edna .
Your latest Creations are fun fun fun ..fifi
Da Judj is about the cleverest use of an ork bar tv head i have ever seen , like weety says a pastiche on so many levels , and just bloody good! he should have his own tv show .. on tv head guy.. and i have to say Arakasi ideas is genius i second using multiple heads idea ,
The nob has the best use of any ultramarines piece bar none, that is where those uptight boys in blue belong . although i do think you should go the whole hog and turn him into a orky calgar , with dual cyberised power fists with shooters underneath. More ridicule is what dakka needs, and your the mad genious to provide it.
Really like the off the shoulder asymetric summer bionic dress style you have going for the shoota boy , that is one fething huge shroom he has their. I guess he will be shooting flutterbys a while longer .

Anvildude - Doubles, triples, something like that But sadly, in this case you probably won't see the other part resurface. Used a boar boy as a basis (which reminds me, I need to check out those savage boar boys), and actually cuty off a lot less than half, and not sure it was a good clean cut either. That said, several of the heads I've cut up have both parts used on different guys, still want to try with a vertical slice though
schank - Why thank you sir. DakkaDakka - bringing mad geniuses together since, err, since whenever it started.
Arakasi - Oh, don't tempt me. I keep having to stop myself from magnetising various pointless little bits as is.
Iz youse kasting aspurju..., err, asparation.., dispersio..., I mean, is youse sayin' bad tings about my orkhood? I was thinking of having Da Trophy Huntas as a nob squad, give this one some smurf helmets on his banna pole etc, then maybe a 'nid hunter with a power klaw made from carnifex claws, a Tau hunter wearing bits of a battle-suit and so on. I have a couple of ideas for 'themed' squads of nobs, some of which I'll try to flesh out a little as I start them, one of which is secret till I have all the parts together for the squad and their ride.
Feel I should have done a bit more with his foot, but was thinking they just had a length of I-bar they just chopped up for his whole leg. I suspect there'll be some wiring added, so that may cover it.
weety - Thank you! I wanted to give him authentic citadel judge boots but he complained they were a bit tight It helps it's such an iconic image, even with just the basic colours laid down it jumps out as a judge. It was a fairly throw-away decision, based purely on the fact that the head (which I pulled of an old ogryn-stealer hybrid ) looked vaguely judge-like on an ork. Now I'm thinking that if I'd planned it I would have put together a helmet with chin. However, he should be getting a servo-grot who might bear a slight resemblence to a certain lisping robotic servant. Plus now I'm thinking a Roolz Nob on a Lawmasta is needed too.
And thank you again, look forward to it
neil - Oh dear, do try to keep up boy
Arakasi : Was it suggested to put a smiley face (grinning Ork face?) on TV head's screen? If not - I'm suggesting it now (Think the robots in Fallout: New Vegas - if that means anything to you )
monkeytroll : I was also thinking of looking up Will O the Wisp, trying to remember what Evil Edna's face was like, that's another idea. I'll go check up on Edna and the Vegas 'bots now...
monkeytroll : And as a bonus it appears that the Vegas-bot and Edna bear a certain resemblence to each other, so I think I have my face, can't go wrong with two references for the price of one can you? I'm thinking I'll try and put it over a static-filled screen, so need to find
a good technique for painting static, possibly stippling greys and black?
Yes.yes, multiple heads, I get the idea Won't be on TV-head though. Hmm, maybe a small set of rollers inside a hollow head, with a paper strip running around it with different pictures on it, and a small handle on the side of the head? Probably have to be a body actually, bit fiddly at head size.
Orks - putting ultra-smurfs in their place since time immemorial. I'm toying with adding some power gubbins to the sword, but I'll leave the Orkus Astartes to Arakasi
I'm hoping when he eventually finds himself caught under a brush he'll lose the 'summer dress' look
moonshine - Thank you, glad you like 'em.

graven - Thank you! Incontinence pants should have been available at check-in.
neil - not paying attention in class ?
Bangbangboom - Cheers!
So tried to get some modelling done, but kept picking up a brush to do odd little bits, so not much of either done, but figured I'd throw up a few more pics anyway
Mono-ork:
Some of you may remember mono-ork, well he had a head and arm re-fit then finally trundled into the paint booth. First pic is auto adjusted, the wheel housing is actually purple. Skin needs a wash or two and a final highlight, purple just needs a tidy-up, everything else is pretty much base coat.
Nob #1
The first nob I made, way back around page 1, leather work and skin need a bit of sorting, that's about it. Unless I re-re-re-re-do the fist, it's been etal, then different metal, then red, then blue, then metal. Didn't really like any of them, but the metal's too plain, so I may go back tp red. Bad choice using that patterened shoulder pad there, his left ear is a tiny green triangle in a blue triangle surrounded by yellow triangles, it gets a bit lost
Pogo-boy:
Bad pic, auto-adjusted, but it shows that something's been going on
'Eavy D
Still some detailing and then the weathering .
There was a bit more done here and there, nothing progressed far enough to warrant showing yet. Also did a bit of chaos related stuff, hopefully that'll get updated fairly soon.
Model wise, various little bits put together, a few pieces coming together, again nothing worth looking at yet really, but here's a preview
He bravely looted the power sword from the original Ghaz, his armour from a Leman Russ, and is awaiting the installation of some tekky/whirry gubbinz. And his gun, obviously his gujn, don't forget his gun.
Thanks for stopping by, feel free to bring cake next time.

Ok, just a Sunday night quickie for you :
Pics aren't great, all bad angles on the second guy
Itz all rite dolly, youze safe wiv me.
Picked up a lucky charm along the way.
Does my 'ead look big in dis?
The head is not as bad as that in RL, difference in materials and my inability to take a shot from a good angle make it look far worse. The legs need GS'ing still, filling the extension and adding some armour to bulk them up a bit. There'll also be power cables from the backpack to the fisty-stabby wotsit.
Said it would be quick

Fixture of Dakka

schank - 'dollies for every ork' is a very popular cry amongst a number of Upzag's mob. No one should ever be contemplating throwing bits away. That's heresy that is. I'm calling the Ordus Modellus right now... But it's not just bitz you shouldn't throw away, vik and neil are doing a great job at using other bits:

prototype - hmm, a little like
 but without the rhino ?
It's a possibility
Haonn - Thank you. I'll let you in on a little secret...I'm not totally serious
OK, So today is my first birthday on Dakka. I'd originally planned to celebrate by getting decent pics of my finished guys up, you know, using the lightbox and backgrounds and all that jazz. So quite obviously I forgot all about that over the weekend. A quick glance over my shelves shows that there's a depressingly small number of models fitting into that category for a year's worth of work. Now it was perhaps feasible to get pics of such a small amount done tonight and put up (dis-regarding any fancy background ideas), but I'm really not feeling it right now.
Today started with it taking us nearly 3 hours to get into work, and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day
So a wall-o-text progress report instead. I'll get round to new pics someday, don't worry. (Don't hold your breath either, I got the lightbox a few months back and re-doing the finished guys was supposed to be my first job).
Not very pretty I'm afraid, and more of a progress note to myself than of real interest, but half of you have probably stopped reading by now as you've realised there's no piccies coming
So what's actually been finished
1 Deff Dread - cheating a bit, this had been started before joining Dakka, and still needs some options to swap with the big shoota
1 Painboy - Dok Herbork West
1 dok-grot - orderley
1 attack squig
[search error - pict-file alpha-alpha-7123 cannot be found]
1 squig hound
3 tekkies -
1 mek
5 boyz with sluggas and choppas - including Hovva-boy, Ol' GruntKnacker and GutSlumpa, still my fave I think
8 assorted servo-grots - 9 if you include spider-grot, who still hasn't had his broken legs fixed
2 deffkoptas - Da Red Kount and the bionikopta
1 'shroom patch
[search error - pict file 756-gamma-alpha-alpha-793 missing]
Err, and that's it, 25 models in a year, at that rate, with my current collection, I'd estimate the sun will become a WD whilst I'm putting finishing touches to the last few. And my calculator blew up when I tried to add in the effects of buying any more.
Of course there were other guys finished who weren't part of this lot. Like the 2 cyborks sent out on trade missions, the marine seconded to Death Watch, a handful of muties, a flying cyber-beast and , err well, yeah, that is about it now
  [/url] ]
What has seen some brush love
GrimSnik - each time I type it, it's a 50/50 chance of getting 1 or 2 capitals in his name
15 boyz with sluggas and choppas - look at that. Fifteen. That's a big number that is. That's like more than 2 'ands worth of fingas I reckon. Some of them are even 'very nearly done' too.
2 cyboars - close, so close. Unless I decide to re-do the fur of course...
1 cyboar rider - just one? Yep, just one.
3 tankbustas - 2 with boom-spears. None really at the 'almost' stage yet
3 burna boys - pretty close, then I'll have to find the cabling I had for them
1 Orkus Mekanikus - actually, come to think of it, he has some paint, but is still awaiting an upper limb of some description
4 'ard boyz - 2 with sluggas/choppas, 1 with rokkits and 1 with big shoota. And over the last week, one with a broken wrist
1 mek
1 trike
1 burna boy
1 shoota boy
6 nobz
2 buggies
2 grot-koptas
2 deffkoptas
Bit better, that adds 45 with some paint on, only a couple are at early stages. And there's a few more in other projects that'll drop into this category.
What has been built and is waiting a bit of GS love/undercoating
5 nobz
1 burna boy
2 'ard boyz
1 mek
4 boyz with sluggas/choppas
That's 13 more guys almost able to smell the paint.
And then there's the things still being built (some seen, some not)
Upzag
1 bike
3 cyboars (no riders)
4 nobz
2 Orkus Mekanikus
1 shoota boy
1+ big mek(s)
1+ tankbusta(s)
2 servo-grots
1 skorcha
1 'ovva-wagon
and assorted other sundries like un-claimed heads and limbs
Not a vast amount by anyone's book, but I can safely say that without the support and interest shown by dakka it would have been a LOT less, and I would probably have long since moved on from cyborks to another project.
So thank you guys and gals, next year I'll try and get some decorations in. And cake. Lots of cake. In fact, forget the minis, I'll just go with pics of cakes.
Damn, I'm going to have to work hard to get some interesting pics up next update to make up for that text-a-rama.
* decided to throw some (old) pics up
