Problem with that line of reasoning is that it ignores the match-ups. Even assuming Ravens Defense is "better" (which over the last 4 or so games I don't necessarily concede). The question is really what the Offense/Defense differentials are.
Ravens D might be better than the Giants D but the Giants O is far and away better than the Ravens O.
I think Eli is Brady's Nemesis. I think that the Pats stout run D (in the playoffs) doesn't factor in because the Giants don't need to rely on the run game. I also think that Brady is more susceptible to the type of pressure the Giants can bring.
Each team has great coaches and clutch players and really anything can happen.

Rex Grossman is still high on the Redskins
Rex Grossman kicked off the 2011 Redskins season with what many thought was an overly optimistic interview about an NFC East title, so it’s only fitting for him to close the 2011 Redskins season with another tremendous interview, filled with sunshine and puppies.
“You know I’ve been on a lot of good teams in my career,” Grossman told Adam Schein and Rich Gannon on SiriusXM radio. “And it’s hard to say this, but we were a pretty damn good 5-11.

Towards the end I was really cheering them on. To me it seemed bit like a stroy thee way they were fighting back with their 3rd choice QB who was also a rookie.

Hopefully Jack Del Rio can help with the defense.
I don't trust him drafting talent. But he can utilize defense talent pretty well.
He had a few good hard hitting defenses and punched the patriots back in 2007 on the nose. but had quite a few poor drafts which resulted in mediocre teams and his firing.
We will see, but the Broncos having 7 DC in 7 years... a DC is not exactly a stable position for us. Automatically Appended Next Post: CT GAMER wrote:Piston Honda wrote:Patriots 27

Will be interesting how this game compares to 2008. I believe in that game the Patriots were missing Welker right? I don't know how much of that was to do with it, but I had never seen Brady with such leaden feet as I did in that game, I think the Giants got so much pressure on him that he got rattled.
Will it happen again this time? The Patriots almost seem to have slipped under the radar this year, everyone was going on so much about the Packers and the Saints, suddenly both of these teams are out and New England are at the Super Bowl. Everyone expected the Patriots to win in 2008, I wonder if the pressure (at least a little) is off this year, and we might see them triumph over the Giants even though the latter seem to be on such a roll.

The Madden playoff had Giants winning .. by a field goal, I think... The Madden games have a 6-2 record, but one of the 2 losses was the last time these two teams met.

How old is he? If he grew up in the 70s and 80s, I can easily understand why he became an Eagles fan. I think the Pack had 3 seasons with 10 wins in that time.
Besides if he grew up with obnoxious Packer backers, I could pick a team just to be a contrarian.

I live in the UK and I think it's definitely starting to get more popular. I try and 'spread the word' wherever possible, and have got a couple of mates into watching. One of them used to be really into British football (soccer) and these days hardly watches it at all, and instead (perhaps unwisely ) has become a massive fan of the Vikings.
I love the professionalism, the skill level, the tactics involved and the pressure that some of the players can continually excel under. And each year, it's almost like a plot to a film with the different teams running for the Superbowl.
IMO, soccer doesn't get to even 25% of the criteria above - every time I see Frank Lampard chip the ball over an open net from 6yds or another player dive to the ground, face clenched in agony like they are trying to get into Rada, I feel like switching the channel.
Also it's nice listening to the NFL players being interviewed, it at least sounds that they can breathe through their nose without having to be shown how.

Brady played horrible.
He gave the giants those first 2pts. as he could have easily thrown it anywhere but where he did and made it look less like intentional grounding.
His interception pass was also a horrible idea.
He left his accuracey at home. He was pressured often, but even when he had time his throws where off. The Pats also dropped some balls that should have been caught and that they needed.
Gronk being a non-factor due to injury really hurt.
Manning's passing game was solid. He deserved to win...

Honestly, I thought the game was a snoozer until late. I'm a Steelers fan, so I appreciate a hard-fought, close game, but the game just seemed to lack big plays until the end...mostly FGs, not many big catches or runs, not a lot of sacks and turnovers. Good ending, though.
Of course, my utter lack of interest in either team probably had something to do it too.

Well, not easily. I've never played quarterback, but I've been around the game long enough to know how hard it is to control the ball when you're falling over. My guess is that he knew he was going to take safety if he got sacked, so he gunned it and hoped for the best.
After all, its better than throwing a pick in field goal range, that very well may have ended up a touchdown.

I tend to concur. That play was too optimistic. Sometimes he seems to expect Gronk to be Randy Moss (when Moss was good). Still, a healthy Gronk would have probably had that ball and a TD.

Wow, really? Were we watching the same game? What was it, 15 straight completions and a new NFL record?
I would question doing a play action pass when you are so close to the endzone, I think there they may have out-thunk themselves and the Giants were right on top of it.
And if you're going to throw an interception, that's the kind of one you want to throw, pretty much the same effect as a punt but great effort from Blackman (perhaps with Gronk a step too slow with his injury)./
I thought both teams played well. The Patriots looked absolutely awe-inspiring halfway through, and I was worried that Manning would slip into his dour mode, but he produced probably the performance of his life and didn't put a foot wrong.
The Giants were a little lucky that both fumbled balls went back into their own hands, and that Welker dropped a difficult but achievable catch, but other than that it was just so close. Even the final Hail Mary by Brady could have gone either way.
Wonderful evening's entertainment in any case, and well worth staying up till 3.30am to watch! Definitely going to get tickets for the Wembley game when they go on sale later today.
