And his last words were instructions to a fallen telling him that he was right. Also he murdered a member of the inner circle and allowed Cypher to get further away with geneseed. Yeah he sounds like a hero to the chapter. Er wait, no, that makes him a traitor, and to admit the fallen's ideology was right makes him a heretic! Plain and simple...

Hi all. A mate at work whos brother works over at the printers gw use was back home for easter this past weekend and shared some intresting things. DARK ANGELS are aparently next and set for next couple of months.
Aparrently stuff we have heard re chaplin wolfguard style units is not far from the mark. They are to get a new speeder varient.
New elite ravenwing unit.
I was also told of a new psychic power that works similarly to some sort of shield that a necron unit gets. Basically it forces a unit targeting librarian to hit an allied unit instead. Not familiar with new necron book so not sure what that is.
Know it is not much . Second hand info and all but his stuff matched what i had read here so thought i would pass it on. Anyone able to add anything?

I want to squeel like a 5 year old girl whos just been told they can have a pony for their birthday, but something is a little fishy... GW's books are all printed in China and this poster is from Hull, in the UK. Add to that the lenght of time it takes to ship from China to the UK (about 3 weeks) is also a factor. Unless they are either loading up the ship today or air freighting (at massive cost) it can't be a May release. June is possible, but unlikely given that we have a pritty firm date of some time in June to start the launch of 6th ed. Personaly I think it is far more likely that Chaos is next, given that there was talk in Jan/Feb that "Chaos is at the printers now" and we'll see DA in Aug/Sept time.
That dosn't meen it's not true, its not unknown for people to work in China, but I'm takeing this with a big old truck full of salt.
Having said that I can see GW doing DA first to get the most out of the white dwarf spine and miss direction:
"oh... The WD spine. Thats just some nice art... Hahaha... Fooled you. It was for the DA release. Now were just finishing a nice picture. Fooled you again. Its also the cover of the 6th ed rule book and thats all... And got you again... They are in the box set".
Could just be my paranoia, but it seems that given the current secret squiral attitude they are taking they would release what they have hinted at ( DA with the spine and the paint sets etc) befor something something there is no infomation about.
Equaly though if DA are the 6th Ed poster boys it makes sense to have them as the first "true" 6th ed codex, rather than the one befor the release (Not the last 5th ed as such... You know what I mean).

I also caught my heart flutter when I read this, but then again I did at the April Fools, 'Dark ANGLES' post.
I did post a few pages back though that the Dark Angels 'Eavy Metal display army was conspicuously missing from the Minature Hall at Warhammer World when I was there a couple months back. I'll be up to Nottingham again in a week or two so will report back as to any changes.
It could mean nothing, but if I was working on a major codex release with new designs, images, books etc, I might want to take the army in to update and clean up for photographs etc...
Jsut a thought.
Although, I am liking this particular rumours emphasis on Chaplains and Ravenwing boosts.
I think we actually need Ward to boost up DA individuality this time, then have someone like Cruddace/Kelly to fill in the hypernflated Ward-fluff next edition round. Its one way we can get our own 'flavour' back!

I see what you mean though. As long as we don't get any of the rubbish like killing SoB because they are so pure. Ward has written some good stuff, it's just a shame that his bad stuff is so very, very bad.
I just hope for a fun, playable force with some diffrent choices of lists that are all playable at a fun level without getting steamrollerd by the latest math hammerd torny winning GK/ IG/whatever list, that has some interesting background, diffrent units and a few nice new minis in plastic. Lets at least get a viable RW force a viable DW force and less specialised force. What I'm hoping is that the genral force will be like SM, flexable, relitivly easy to play, forgiving but mid level of power, and the DW & RW forces will be more difficult to play but offer those with the finess a more powerfull force (E.g. if RW were a bit more like DE. Fast, fragile, able to hit hard but errors will be punnished).

The Ravenwing getting a more elite unit, follows a trend with other codices... like Genestealers and Ygmarl and a few other instances of elite armies, which you could build before have been recieving a more elite version. I sure would like to see Deathwing get something in the same vein.
Also this "new landspeeder"... I'm crossing my fingers for a LS Storm that can go gunship with the addition of side gunners and heavy bolters.

Hmm, I always thought it would have to be chaos first. Assuming the rumours for the contents of the 6th edition starter are correct, that means new players picking up the chaos side would have cultists which have no rules in the current codex, as well as lesser demons and those dreadnought things that you dont really see in a chaos army. Dunno just my thought.

I tend to think the LS Storm has just been such a missed opportunity and I'm really hopping GW decides to take advantage of the fact that it is a larger landspeeder to create interesting variances of it. I'm not fixated on any particular notion, I just want to see more done with it.
I tend to think Dark Angels are going to be a one and done release, not as drawn out as Chaos will have to be. Even if DA have more new units then the usual 3-4 plastic kits and 3-4 finecast kits in a given month, GW will likely put off anything left over till much later as opposed to drawing it out to part of a second month as they've done a few times. That gives them more mobility to move the release around, so it could be a case of its ready for May, but chaos aren't.

Meh DA... Chaos... Same thing... Either book, same army!
As a Dark Angel player since they were black, I read all this and absolutely am thrilled for this summer and 40k. I agree with a previous post that says, as long as the book stands up and is playable that would be great. Though the salt on both books is amazing.

Da may get the Ba treatment. 3 or so kits plus characters in the first wave, and a later second wave with 2-3 more models, then done.
LS Storm can be easily fixed- move it from FA to dedicated transport for scout squads.

Its a particularly appropriate fix if Scouts remain elite as its easier to justify an elite choice being able to do this where the standard codex Troop choice can't. That fixes it as a unit, though what I was generally getting on about was the wasted opportunity in producing a very nice kit thats full of modeling potential but hasn't any variants. Its a larger landspeeder... if a normal landspeeder can add missile pods, different gunner weapons, and different nose weapons shouldn't a larger Land Speeder be able to be upgunned to atleast a similar degree when its not transporting scouts?-Yes, so its just upto GW to do so in a flavorful way. Door gunners in place of transporting scouts allows it to function as a lighter faster predator.

Sure, but Wolf Scouts have always been an "elite" unit. They're also, in terms of the background, not the recruits of the Chapter but experienced Battle-Brothers who don't play well with others and as such are sent off on their own.
Dark Angels Scouts had--before the Jervis incarnation--been the opposite. Recruits of the Chapter supervised by an experienced Battle-Brother(the Veteran Sergeant). They were to have something unique in the form of the "Manstopper Rounds" for their shotguns, but that was promptly handed out.

Well things change. Fluff can change. The simpliest fix to the LS Storm is to count as a dedicated transport, and its simply easier to get away with that difference if the count as elites as opposed troops. I'm not saying they have to, just that its easier. In the same vein, couldn't scouts simply count as a fast attack choice... say 5 models and the speeder bought as a single unit with the option of trading the speeder for another 5 models?-Similar to assault marines dropping jump packs for a transport.
Being Elites in the previous book seemed to be done more to prevent the over crowding of offering as many different Troop choices and emphasizing that choice between the three possibilities.
