Maybe he meant "in a new codex" since he left out a noun.

Looks like the printer leaks came through, as to be expected.

And the fact that he has an aquila on a chain around his neck; that's the end of "he's a Fallen".

He's Asmodai, minus the Crozius.

Aye, it's the exact same image as Asmodai except for the parts that have already been revealed. Fake.

I think I mentioned it in this thread already, but the spikey backpack makes it almost certain that it's Azreal.

Check out the pic comparison http://www.3forint.com/2012/02/white-dwarf-spine-image.html

The image from the codex uses the exact same art.

That aside, a plasma blaster would be pretty awesome.

That would make sense if it weren't a Dave Gallagher Artwork. His art is always pretty much 100% accurate, aside from maybe a couple of the 'Big stuff' scribbled in the background.

Wasn't trying to pass off anything as real. making an educated guess/image.....that was all....Not meant to be real or claimed to be real.....

I see the ONE skull with spike thing on it.....but the actual backpack is mutated....

Except you're ignoring the sculpture directly above the spiked skull and calling it a "mutation".

Any chance you can stencil the 'sculpture'? I'm sure you're right i just cant for the life of me see it. All i see is a mass of (to be fair) mutated looking bone.

Gathering the Informations.

Look at the middle White Dwarf's spine, and you can go from there.

The middle has the "mass" of the sculpture, and it's easier to extrapolate from there.

Specifically, here you go. I cropped the image, since it's not really something you can "stencil" well.

With some of the extraneous stuff underneath cut out, it becomes clear that the "mutated bone" is in fact sculpted angel wings as part of the sculpture on the backpack.

...I feel like this is becoming more involved than a stereogram calender, an Eye-Spy, and a Where's Waldo book combined. I can't wait till GW finds their blue period and decide to take up impressionism.

Imagine that lunging at you with a 2 handed swipe from above its head straight down.

That's what the sculpture is.

As cool as that is.... Given the degree GW took the Angel motif for Blood Angels I'm actually worried, for the sake of distinctiveness, if GW were to do anything similar to DA. Space Marines are collectively named "Angels of Death"... so the motif really doesn't need to be used to strongly for yet another chapter.

Dark Angels in their books have always had a very grim and serious persona. They are very businesslike and are about getting the job done, no frills, no lollygagging, none of that stupid space wolf-like behavior. I could see GW building on that grim determination and making them even more sinister and dark in both fluff and new models. Also hopefully more shooty, since that's pretty much their thing.

It will probably revolve more around the fluff. More deathwing sacrifice, more secret rituals, and even more pissed off chaplains. Which is saying something, because if anybody knows who Boreas is, they know how pissed off DA chaplains are all the time; they're like angry marines

DA chaplains are less furious than BT, but at the same time far scarier because the DA chaplains are more Tranquil Fury rather than the Unstoppable Hatred of BT, DA one's are the ones with blades that torture you to the breaking point afterakk

How can they have more secret rituals!? They have far more than every other chapter combined at this point!

Chaplain Boreas spat in Ghazkull thraka's face after Thraka broke his jaw and he couldn't scream at him any more.

If you un-focus your eyes and stare at the GW front page for long enough you'll see a hidden image of Azrael, or possibly go blind.

Back on topic, have we actualy had anything more solid than:

The 6th ed set is probably going to have DA in it
There is a picture on the spine of WD that is 99% sure to be a DA of some sort.
There will probably be a Codex of some sort next month followed by 6th Ed build up in June onwards
There will probably be another Codex after 6th ed but before November when the Hobbit is out
One of these MIGHT be DA but we have no idea which
Update: DA on paint set and painting photo (Above)

Am I correct in thinking this is all we actualy have on DA? Not wanting to spoil the fun, just want to do a quick sanity check.

remember DA chaplains are not the fire and brimstone types, i agree thats BT, DA ones are the terrifying ones that will break your body and spirit, while the libs break your mind, they are torturers pure and simple, and embody all the evil that comes with, DA are not and never will be good guys, even by 40k standards

Later on he goes on to lose his faith in his chapter and Primarch and misleads five Dark Angels to commit suicide cover his shame. He is a heretic and should be remembered as one!
