I all but garuntee it.

Although simply having IG kits as the mainstream option wouldn't be the end of the world.

it's almost a guarantee. Unless GW decides to stick us with DV cultists, I expect to see a ~10 man box with options for CCW + autopistol or Autoguns, plus options for some special weapons ( flamers, heavy stubbers.) and a champion with options.

Real nice models there!

Will probably convert the space marines to Space Wolves, The Cultists to penal/conscripts and the rest can go to my bro inlaw who is going to start up a chaos army.

I was thinking painting them a flat white, then using a grey wash to make it look like smoke.

Not that there should have been any doubt Hastings is reliable, but that's about as concrete solid reliable as you can ask, especially in GW's Dark Age of Secrecy.

Really digging that Hell Brute. Shouldn't be hard to Nurgle that guy up at all. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an upgrade to a standard dread giving it the Daemon 5++ save, and other special rules. I can't see them dropping the dreadnought for this unless the direction of the new codex is to really emphasize the warped nature of Chaos marines. Although judging by the looks of the Chaos stuff here that might not be an unrealistic assumption actually.

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

It's clearly a warped Dreadnought though, it's not some entirely new thing like the Defiler was back in the day. There's no reason you couldn't use existing Dreads as Hellbrutes, barring specific gear selection restrictions of course.

yeah, but it is a completely different unit. Definitly a Monstrous Creature.

Sure. My point being if Dreads are gone people aren't left with models they can't use for anything.

I don't particularly like the Hellbrute that much, but damn, it's just begging for a Slaanesh conversion.

Vaginas. EVERYWHERE.

That, and I still want an army that I can paint bright pink.

Yeah the hellbrute defied all my expectations. SO excited to nurgle one of these up. Fantastic. I was expecting lots of spikes and some weak khorn icons or somesuch smeared all over it but as a nurgle conversion it will be pimp.

Cultists say it all if you ask me. THey are fantastic stuff. I could care less about the loyalist scum though they might be conversion bait....

I very much look forward to adding these models to my army in honor of Slaanesh.

I am rather impressed with all of the Chaos in the starter, all of it. From the Hellbrute to the Cultists, I look forward to playing with these in my army.

My dilemma is that I am now debating stripping my entire army to redo their paint scheme.

Keeping them Slaanesh, but I want to give both old and new a paint job that will do them justice.

Cheers!

Yeah, I see it now.

With that bit of info, my guess is that its either the second stage of the Obliterator Virus. Kind of an Obliterator Daemon Prince.

Or its a Dreadnought thats caught the Obliterator Virus.

I like what I see, though I don't think the Chaplain is nearly impressive enough to make me rush out and buy the "Limited Edition" version. The Librarian is far, far cooler. Enough that even if I don't ever get the box, I will be getting one from a bitz service for my Deathwatch squad.

I can definitely the viability of painting those Deathwing and Tac marines' armor black to be fallen to make the box into a giant Chaos Battleforce, though. I'd definitely put together one of the current multi-part robed Dark Angel marines to be a unique Cypher, too.

$105US is a helluva lot of money after getting SedWars and now eye-ing a Crusader for a Knight titan model, but especially if making an entire Chaos force out of the contents, a huge freaking deal compared to the existing Battleforce boxes.

I think the Hellbrute is the new Dreadnought.

Wouldn't bother me. Helps to further differentiate Chaos from "Imperial with spikes". The only stupid choice is the multi-melta. It's a low-class weapon for a dreadnought anyway, but for use against the Dark Angels in this box set? Really? More like plasma cannon or twin-linked heavy bolters.
