Subject: 'Angels of Death' animated series on the way from GW...
Holy animated Adeptus Astartes, we’ve only gone and done it – we’re hard at work on an all-new Warhammer 40,000 animated series.
Yup. You read that right.
We’re bringing the grim darkness of the far future to life like never before. Get ready for epic battle, heroic sacrifice, loads of explosions, brutal close-combat chainsword duels, and some pathos-laden dialogue that’ll fill your belly with fire and stretch your heart strings to breaking.
‘Angels of Death’, will follow the visceral exploits of a band of Blood Angels Space Marines as they face Mankind’s enemies, death and worse – the dreaded Black Rage. To ensure the story is suitably grimdark, we’ve called upon the talents of some of Black Library’s finest authors. Together, they’re forging an epic tale for the animators to realise.
Speaking of which, some of you might be familiar with the Helsreach fan film, based on the Black Library novel of the same name. If you thought that was cool, you were right! We enjoyed it so much that we knew we had to team up with the very same team to deliver Angels of Death. Turns out, Helsreach wasn’t even close to their A-game!
Angels of Death will be on its way in 2019 and is just one of the exciting new projects headed your way soon…
What a time to be a Warhammer hobbyist!

I thought it said Blood Ravens for a second, and then I got disappointed. Anyway, good to see them trying new things. Branching out is a sign of health. It means they have the money and confidence to explore other product lines. Could probably work on the animation quality though. It looks like something from the 90s-early 00s

EDIT: Also, using fan works as a way to find new talent for the company to exploit rather than reacting with irrational counter-productive "muh copyrights" rage? Another positive step forwards for the company.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Does this mean GW is cool with fan films now? Is that German fan film that GW crushed into the ground under Kirby now available to watch?

Well Richard did make a short film about a cadian entirely by himself fighting tyranids. I know the creator wants to tackle it. But can't because that a lot of animation work compared to helmets.

Hopefully they'll actually have decent voice actors for this. The ones they've used in their recent videos are awful at times. The Chaos Lord dude in the Vigilus video has such an unimposing voice- it's like if David Beckham was a SM.

I mean, Dawn of War opening cinematic with a chainsaw splattering blood all over the camera violent, or last season of Star Wars Rebels where the characters almost never directly cause the death of an enemy, not even using lightsabres to attack people, often knocking Stromtroopers unconscious violent?

I don't think they'll go full Star Wars Rebels and not have any sort of visceral deaths, I mean it would undermine the whole theme of 40K if they censored the violence. Given how they've promoted Total War: Warhammer and Dawn of War, which have their share of bloody cutscenes, and that its made by the guy who did Helsreach, it would surprise me if they did make it so bolters don't make people go kablooey.
