Ugh, if it is true that Shawn is sharing private e-mail conversations with other clients that is absolutely disgusting and makes me question his business ethics even more than I have been with this commission.

Thats implying he had any to begin with

Jeez, sharing client emails now?

Good thing it is just an "isolated case" innit, MWG?

I've said it before but MWG has been doing the slow circle around the drain since they started begging on kickstarter

For what it's worth, both BTP and MWG's YouTube channel subscriptions have only increased these past 30 days. People talking about unsubscribing and whatnot have not even had any effect.

Which isn't surprising, not everyone is on dakka or warseerer. I mean I am still subbed to MWG if only for the old world wars videos because ash actually has enthusiasm for the game and I enjoy seeing fantasy bat reps.

I'm not sure about the US, but I can tell you as an absolute fact that if he did such a thing in the UK he would be in breach of several privacy laws, including the data protection act, not only could Tenebre seek damages, BTP would be in court on criminal charges too.

I hope we have similar laws here. Any of Dakka's lawyers able to weigh in on whether or not BTP would be breaking US law by sharing client e-mails with other would-be clients?

So I guess for clarity I want to ask what was edited? Were individual emails just excluded or did BTP actively alter what tenebre said?

Jesus Christ... opening that link was like finding a can o' worms on one of the worms from this can o' worms. One filled with even deeper, thicker and darker layers of filth and corruption.

I will start a new thread for the repaint as i do not want to mix the discussions.

When I first read this, I thought you meant your army was sent back to BTP. I was about to call you a sell out.

When can we see pics of the army?

And with the revelation of sharing private communications with potential new clients, Shawn has sunk to a new low.

This is absolutely dire and unethical business practice.

This is good news!

I'm glad to see that you're getting the army you were after in the first place!

I look forward to seeing the 'rescued' miniatures, and I hope that whatever studio graciously offered to do this sees a serious uptick in their business thanks to this goodwill gesture - and their quality work too, of course!

never sold out in my life

I hope to post a video next week. I will make a separate thread and try to do weekly updates on the progress of the new CDs. The artist totally gets my thoughts and energy so im not even a little bit worried. (and he calls me and talks to me and answers emails)

When Tenebre made his 2nd video I was actually worried that one might hurt him because he was sharing correspondance publicly which might hurt any subsequent legal action, but I have no idea... I probably would have consulted a lawyer as soon as it was clear that BTP were just going to screw me around.

It's really a shame that people don't do reviews of their commissioned models more often. It's so damned expensive and if BTP have had 8000 projects surely more of them would have done reviews. I'm not even just saying BAD reviews, but even people who are happy if they posted reviews with lots of close up shots it'd let people in the market for commission painters actually get an idea what they might be in for when commissioning a company. If at the same time people did more reviews of other commission painters that weren't BTP, I have a feeling that would hurt their business more than anything because people would see the quality available from other commission painters.

TL;DR, people need to do more reviews of stuff

If I'm not mistaken, BTP advertises on MWG, which mean literally any criticism of them might be grounds for breach of contract. I rather like MWG, so I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt at least. After closing shop I'm sure they don't have the operating budget to be burning bridges with sponsors right now. Kind of a rock and a crud place.

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

I'd believe that not given the way MWG has handled this situation. Matt is giving the full appearance of dismissing tenebre and his issues and doing everything they can to help BTP whitewash the event.

Agreed! i planned to do a review positively. I find it odd no one else reviews their commissions done by them if there are that many.

Also privacy laws protect the private citizen not the company in this case. (yes i verified i could make that video before i did it)
