Reaper and Bigfish: Not to further draw attention away from Sigur's awesome painting, but currently 11 other countries having similiar laws/bills in motion that would achieve the same goal for them. It's not just the US. This legislation has $94 Billion behind it. So stopping SOPA or PIPA alone will not put an end to it. They will keep rehashing it and tagging along with other bills down the road for a long way to come. That is why us friendly internet-goers have to step up and stay vigilant. This will not go away over night, we will have to fight this for a long time to come.

Nice work Sigur, those salamanders are really nice.
..And the EU already has it's own version of the SOPA, the ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement wich went active in late 2010) wich also has been ratified by the U.S and Australia to name a few. This concerns IP and 'Immaterial Property Rights', however the acctual contents of the document are still secret and any documents released to the public that in part or directly relates to ACTA has those parts blacked out. Wich as you understand, blatantly violates scores of laws (like the US Freedom of Information act or the Swedish principle of public access and the Freedom of the Press Act.) forbidding the sequestering of information (non-vital to national security) from the public.
..*ahem* that ironclad is quite cool too..
I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.
Thanks for the lively comments on the whole SOPA/PIPA thing. For now SOPA seems to be pulled back , getting the much required overhaul. Still, as Moltar says, we have to keep on being on our toes on this issue and, above all, informed.
Thanks to STC_LogisEingine for pointing this out. I really have to read up on what I can find on ACTA.
...and of course thanks to everybody for commenting on the painting as well.
Between interweb strikes and me working on getting a new photo setup ...set ....up :shifty: I almost forgot updating the logs!
So here we go.
Salamanders Captain (pretty FW figure)
Ironclad Dreadnought
Terminator Librarian (pretty Finecast figure)

For my Infinity "army" - my TAG and some remotes:
Hope you like everything so far.
Next up:
Salamanders army shots
Space Wolves (or more Pre-Heresy World Eaters. What would you prefer?)
Sallies look great, Sigur! That FW boarding marine turned out amazing. Detail and script work really set it off. It's also refreshing to see some more Infinity mini's.
I really like the power weapon style that you have here! Very original and very fitting for Salamanders!
If I was to vote for your next project, I'd vote Space Wolves.
Keep up the great work!

Wow, that captain is just.. wow.. Awsome in the true meaning of the word.
Sorry for the threadjacking but if you want more info on ACTA this vidio explains it all quite nicely:
(p.s; if you don't want the vid link here just poke me and I'll remove it)

@Rogue Wolves: Thanks and yes, SOPA didn't pass for now but we gotta stay informed indeed.
@STC_LogisEngine: Thanks for commenting and the video. As it happens ACTA made it into the headlines yesterday as AnonAustria attacked several government websites to draw attention to the ACTA situation.
@D.Smith: Basically what Moltar said. In fact, I was touching up the bases I had done for the Infinity robots, cut myself, after a brief inspection decided that it wasn't that bad and happily cut on when I noticed that the wound was of the "small but deep" kind and bled much stronger than I had thought. SO I went to do something about it but forgot to clean the knife in the meantime.
@Moltar: Spot on.
@Tortured-Robot: Thanks very much.
Alright, here's another update.
Yesterday was mostly spent with upgrading my photo setup, tidying and reorganizing my painting place a bit, assembled another paint rack so I finally have some more order in my paint collection than before and more space on the table and all that. Also, my new camera arrived and it had to be activated, manuals to be read, software to be installed and so on. This is what I spent much time today on as well so there isn't an update that huge. I really have to get to get behind that new camera first, what it can do exactly and I have to get to know what I can do with it as well. As a result, not all that much painting got done and my eyes are rather strained.
Anyhow, here's some pictures.
First, a test picture of good old Sicarius:
...and then some more pictures of a Pre-Heresy World Eaters commander:
Hope you like them. As you can see, there is still a LOT of work to be done (and learned) about how to make really nice pictures but I think I'll get there soon. As for the model itself - very much fun to paint. Not sure if it's the metal or the red cloak (I love me some red cloak painting once in a while) but this guy was very much fun to paint. The pictures are a bit so-so. He looks better in real life actually (haven't used that excuse in quite a while... :p ).
I like that you haven't used a pure white for the armour on the World Eaters, and that some areas are cleaner than others. I always find it incredible how people manage to progress from red to increasingly white without creating pink in the process (such as the cloak). Good pictures, good work!
