Thanks guys. I had a very enjoyable day. After work, took the boys out for some Bushido at a local shop, then we all went out for dinner afterwards (wife was tuckered out after a week of traveling for work so we had her blessing). That made Saturday my de-facto birthday and spend it just hanging out with the family... just perfect in my book.

You'll note I haven't been painting a lot lately. That's because I can't get at my painting desk. Both boys have been painting like mad. I'll get some pics up later. Really proud of both of them.

All the bushido stuff is great (and a nice change from the usual PA stuff in P&M in general) but am I the only one who misses me some Mantis and EC action???

Thing 2 has been a painting and building maniac. I'm really proud of him.




The tree is a Japanese Plum, which really does look a lot like this. All his idea... scratch-built tree from sticks, pink thread for the trailing, flowering branches.

My birthday present from Thing 1. A "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed list I put together using the Bushido faction called the "Jung Pirates".




@Tom: I get you. But the idea of painting the same, or nearly the same figure over and over and over again just to get a basic unit isn't very appealing right now. Also the local 40k scene has pretty well fragmented into nothingness. Which is frankly shocking. I'll get back to it eventually. Maybe in the winter when there's more time to paint.

Been catching up with the mammoth amount of stuff i've missed. Much like MT11, i'm sad at the lack of mantis warriors, but it's great to see you directing your efforts into bushido, which looks pretty fun.
Also fantastic to see the next gen of Gits making their mark on the hobby (That tree is really clever.)

I'll look through my Mantis Warriors and see if I can't find a character that needs painting.
