Ha! Git, that made my day. As I recall though, I think blame needs to be placed with your spouse not on our foreign dakkanoughts. Wasn't it her idea to send cookies?

shoosh, never blame the wife. For she holds the keys to the kingdom, and the recipe to the cookies.

Avery, the label people, make transparency sheets specifically designed to be printed on, by laserjets OR inkjets. Do not feed an inkjet sheet into a laser printer.

The reason to use the Avery sheets is that they are designed to be printed upon (and, in the case of laser printers, handle the high heat of the fuser without MELTING).

This is a situation where you want to PURCHASE, instead of scavenging. The risk of damage to your printer is too high.

It's like really thick PVA, I just spread it with a toothpick. Keep in mind there's a limit to the size space you can spread it over. Really wide gaps will need to be done some other way.

I was (no longer) secretly hoping for judge cookies too, but as they other two are ALSO on the other side of the globe, I wont mention it...

So, today is my last day of life in my 40's. To celebrate, I decided to have a mid-life crisis (even though I should have had that 10 or 15 years ago). So, when you have a mid-life crisis you go out and spend money on something unnecessary and frivolous... like a motorcycle or a sports car. Well, after shipping 4 pounds of cookies to Tasmania... I can't afford that. So I opted for something more humble.

First, I took my Corolla over to the local car wash place and had it washed and detailed. THEN I frivolously purchased a faux leopard-skin steering wheel cover. I'd show you but the dakka gods would just delete it from the gallery.

Secondly, I went to my FLGS for glue and wash. Then I wandered back into the consignment room and spied something I've coveted for decades... and I have a gift card I'd won at a previous tournament just burning a hole in my wallet. So for a *very* reasonable price... I'm now the proud owner of this!

Spoiler:

Give it a bit of a re-paint... some added detail... and I'm all set to sail into the sunset years of my life!

NICE! You'll be painting them in your tranquility pattern right?

Oh nice tanks. Like IceAngel, i'd really like to see them painted in Traquility pattern camo as well.

How many pounds of cookies total did the missus bake for the contest winners??

THAT is the original Armourcast Baneblade/Shadowsword combo. The center section lifts out and swaps. It is, in my humble and utterly arrogant opinion, the finest superheavy chassis kit ever made.

I can see a few items missing, but it is mostly complete, and a good acquisition.

Art, I salute. I have a bevy of superheavy bitz, let me know what you want, and I'll try and scavenge.

Not bad for $50.

@Snrub: Well, the wife made enough cookies for 4 winners. 2 of those have been sent out, the other two will be sent out soon. The packages have been over 4 lb. each... so at least 12 pounds of that are cookies... probably more.

On the tank: I was going to leave it grey and add spots of green to connect it to the MW (and add a lot of detail, etc.). Didn't think about going tranquility pattern... but I could. I CAN tell you that the first thing to go will be that god-awful spotlight. Please... some 3rd party company make a DECENT SPOTLIGHT for a vehicle!!

@Brian: Thank you my friend. To be honest I'm not sure what I'm missing. I don't really have rules for it unless they're in the first Apoc. book (which I own but never really have opened). I've been looking at some pics on-line but it looks as if nearly every tank I see has a different configuration.

@Ramos & all: Thanks for your birthday wishes! I'm honored to have such fine friends as yourselves and also honored to share my birthday with good friends such as Solar_lion and whalemusic360. You know, if we could find one more person with the same birth date... we could field an entire Adepticon team. Now THAT's a scary thought!

I have the combo Armor cast BB/SS original. Painted black to match the PDF I used at Adepticon. It came with lots of metal bits like bolters ect.

I should finish it someday... Have Bcj's contest to finish first.

Got only knows... take 4500 and add a land raider and the super heavy. Whatever that is... Over 5000 I guess. I'm just going to keep painting until I die or can't see any more.

I do have the chassis and turret of a modern baneblade... decently painted (thought not fancy). Size difference is pretty profound. Now that I have the resin model, I'm wondering if I should bother to try and find the side sponsons from a bits merchant, or just say the heck with it and sell it.

4500 + 250? for the Land Raider, 600+ for the superheavy, + anything you've forgotten, it's probably around the 5500 mark.

Nothing to be worried about though - I'm at 25,000 and counting...

Keep going, you'll get there eventually

Mostly, on my phone.

Great score! The FW MARS pattern is that scale too iirc - my scratch blade was built to its proportions. Now you just need to make a modular glaive turret for it also, I picked up a crisis present too which I've not owned up to yet so you know if your mid life crisis is 15 years ahead of mine you've just got that much longer to enjoy your toys enjoy your 6th decade buddy!

I'm having a very fun but understated day. Decided that I was going to spend some special, quality time with each family member. Thing 1 and I went out this morning to do some fishing... Thing 2 and I will do something special together (his choice) later today. I'll take some time for myself and airbrush the squiggoth I've been working on. My family is taking me to a very fancy restaurant for dinner, and my wife... well... that's none of your business.

I'm not actually very creisisy (?)... I remember having a bit of a shock at either 30 or 40... but now... every day is a blessing. I just roll with it and am thankful for whatever time the good Lord gives me. I am NOT however... planning on "signing off" anytime soon. Too much painting left to do!
