Centurion #6 is done save for the base. For some reason I didn't quite get the gun alignment right on this one. A bit confusing as I used the same alignment system as I used on the other 5. However... it'll do. They sit and look good enough. Once he's done, I'm going to magnetize two sets of las cannons and ML pods... then we'll be ready for paint.

Completely OT... but if you ever wondered what I do for a living (though I think I've mentioned it a time or two)... now's your chance. This is a youtube video made out of a powerpoint presentation that is intended to encourage members of the general public to volunteer to help us one with a biological survey this summer. The local university made the video out of the ppt & will be managing the volunteers... I'm just the "science guy". In any case, that's my voice... though it doesn't sound like it to me. (I also had a cold when I narrated most of it, so I'm a bit stuffy sounding.)

We are having tree problems here too, but not a beetle, pesky elm disease, lots of trees marked with X's

Very interesting stuff... Gits. I spent 5 summers as ground crew for an aerial applicator and 1 summer in Vector Control in my home town. This was while getting my Chemistry and Secondary Ed degrees.
Still grosses out my wife when I identify the species of mosquito that just tried to bite me.

Well, before I can paint them... I've got to finish building them. That involves making two sets of alternate weaponry (MLs and las cannons). Good thing I only have two to do, I'm finally running out of steam on these guys.

I think the cork on the basing really pulls the models together. I have to tell you, I have not been a fan of these models since they came out, but your work on them has really made me want to pick some up for my Alpha Legion, Gits. Also, that video was actually really interesting. Though I'm studying social sciences, I always find biological lectures really cool.

Models are cool as usual Gits and you sound even cooler than I imagined :-) now I imagine you narrating all your posts!

You tube is blocked at work so i will have a look at home. I studied App Bio with Phys & Pharm, so sounds interesting.

@Darth Bob: Well, thank you sir. Very glad I could inspire you a bit. Kind of carrying on the tradition I guess as it was Eggroll that inspired me with his centurions. I absolutely detest the models as originally designed... not that they're badly designed per se, I just think it's a ridiculous concept and the fully completed models look rather silly (they look like kids in those stuffed, padded sumo suits you see at fares or school parties). With a little fiddling however... they become brilliant. The engineering of the models is very crisp. You just have to be very careful that you use exactly the right parts (arms/guns/cables) so that things fit nicely together. I wish there were more options for poseing... but you'd need something like Zinge's flexible cables to pull that off. (shameless plug)

@nerdy: Well, that's the risk of posting like that. I either get more cool or less, depending on how people imagine I sound. You have NO idea how bloody long it took me to make that recording (before it was edited into a cohesive presentation by the University blokes). Had to write the script... then read it. It's amazing how often I would trip over one word & have to re-do the whole slide (or at least a paragraph)... slur a word, speak too quickly, have an odd voice inflection, etc. There are still slides I wish I could re-record... but I was up against my deadline and had to trust that it would be OK as is.
