Indeed, we have to do it at school, of which my memory is running around desperately trying to avoid a bunch of people with hooked clubs, who are after your shins, and the ball, which to all intents and purposes, is a steel ballbearing 2" across.
I'll take hockey ( in any form ) over soccer anyday!
I think git should start his MW comp. If he's not gonna show us Mantis Warriors and such, then someone should! Otherwise were gonna still be talking sports and weather for the next several pages!
What's next .. women? Game of Thrones, Old SF movies? WM's Miniatures that Ramo's has to paint?
So...VINcent and old BOB from the Black Hole, or Huey, Dewey and Louie from Silent Running?
Spent a lot of hours playing Air Hockey. It been a while since I thought about either of those films.. Nice. I still remember as a very small child seeing Hercules Unchained in the movie theater. Or Staying up late to watch any Godzilla movie. Good times.

As far as sports and weather... Sadly I've little to say about either. I live in a paint dungeon... Unless thats a sport? and my weather is usually "OK to prime outside" or "Not OK- Prime indoors"
Im totally in for a MW paint-a-thon, though... I could use the color change!
Hi guys. Actually have gaming-related news for a change...
Have an 1850 pt game set up for tomorrow night in order to learn 7th. My opponent says he'll be filming it so there may be a video batrep I can direct you too. In any case I'm sure it'll be humiliating. I promised I'd bring a pretty army though so I'm bringing my MW, probably including the partially painted cents. Any other suggestions for decent SM units or builds in 7th?
Anvildude: "Honestly, it's kinda refreshing to see an Ork vehicle that doesn't look like a rainbow threw up on it."
You know you are going to be filmed, and are going to bring partially painted models? Heresy! Madness!
You should bring your best looking units.
I’d offer more constructive advice, but have yet to play a game of 7th myself. It doesn’t look that far off from 6th though, so I’d go with any old instincts you have. But when in doubt, pushing cool looking minis around the table is what it’s about, so whatever floats your boat.
If you're playing with the Tactical Objectives, be sure to bring a maximum of units that are either :
1. Mobile (vehicles, bikes) ;
2. Dedicated Transports.
The objectives you'll have to seize will change every turn, so quick redeployment is key !
And Dedicated Transports are quite cheap, sometimes ignored, but can capture objectives ! (Yes, even your usually-useless Drop Pod)
(Edit : Oh, and as Nevelon said : BRING PAINTED UNITS ONLY !!! )

Well, I know my opponent will have unpainted units... so even my partially painted figures will be an improvement over that. BUT... I will bring as pretty an army as I can muster for the rest.

I think its time to break out your death watch squad from the GMS you've created. It'd be nice to see them in action once again.
If you're using this to learn the rules, bring a nice variety of things. Without looking at any pictures of your army, I'd say bring, vindicator, bikes, two tactical units with razorbacks, deathwatch in the land raider, ironclad, tranquility sternguard in drop pod, and MotF for kicks. Do you have a MW psyker? If so bring him too.
I took a total mish-mash of units... little bit of everything.
2 libby's so I can play with the psychics. sternguard in d-pod small tac in razorback large tac in rhino large sniper scout squad 5-man bike squad (going to use my scout bikes as proxies) TFC 3 cents normal LR w/ a tech marine & a couple of servitors to keep it repaired.
My opponent is taking orks, so I'll get to learn about the new ork dex as well. Should be great fun!

Had a wonderful day. Spent the morning manning a carnival booth to benefit Thing 1's boy scout troop at a local festival, then took the boys fishing at a local hot spot. Grilled a fantastic steak dinner with home-made potato salad and grilled broccoli (it's awesome). Finished the night with our own firework display and singing the national anthem with the boys using the high-pitched "Do-de-do, do, de-do" method (it was very silly). All-in-all a wonderful day.
I did get my game of 7th Ed. 40k in on Wed PM. It was a ball! When the video bat rep is posted, I'll link it here.
Take care!

We refuse to take sides in this anymore. And we refuse to let you turn us against one another. We know who we are now, we can find our own way between order and chaos...
It's over because we've decided it's over. Now get the hell out of our galaxy! Both of you.

Finally got the link to the batrep. It's only about 8 minutes so it should be an easy watch. Very close game. I made some mistakes along the way but my overall strategy seemed to work reasonably well.
Thanks to my buddy Shawn for a great game and a cool video. My first time on the "little screen".

You know, it occurred to me: Orks v Mantis / Gits has Mantis... Then I noticed the tanks and I recognized them right away. Your mantis look great Gits. Fun batrep.
I have to say, I'm glad to see orks holding up so well against the marines. How do you feel about the multi-FOC?
