How thrilling! Theres nothing like a good pop culture reference. I feel like playing this zombie game - or maybe making one of my own. Hoards of zombies coming at ya. Shotguns blasting!

I made an aliens style game once - The player would have 3-4 heavily armed and armoured characters, they have limited but large supplies of ammo and very rapid fire guns and then the games master just throws wave after wave of aliens (genestealers painted black) and once the bullets run out you have to fight them hand to hand (acid burns all over the place). Similar deal to zombies but faster.

Love the walkers, monkey! The runners in particular are ace - I was wondering how I was going to individualise them with their fairly fixed poses, but your little conversions and limb/head transplants work really well. Love the paintjob on the big guys head wound too - gross!

The dance line ups are pure class - keep up the great work!

vik - Thriller bridge! Woot! That is a pretty cool bobble-head. I was going for the look of his skin circa 2001, think it's pretty close

Ramos - I couldn't be bothered with a re-paint so I decided I'll make another one later. And I'll try and come up with some rules for him too
Maybe a survivor version to go with the zed?

mayajid - Well, kind of

ldd - Always in a rush, never bothering to see what's ahead And look, you missed a spot too.

But I just built one

weety - Still to play a game myself, but it does look fun, and I've only heard good things from those that have.

Space hulk without the termies then? That was always the hook to get people to play space hulk (non-gaming friends that is) - tell them it's a bit like Aliens. Always got their attention.

ldd - brief, bloody and beautiful I'd imagine

Llamahead - It is a bit isn't it?

graven - Indeed

ldd - No problem, and yes it will

Skalk - No no, that's fine If you're searching my gallery you're not building or painting

Scarp - Cheers bud! I was debating leaving the zeds as is, but there was no way that was ever going to sit right with me, so quick and easy chops it is. Well, mostly

Arakasi - Good to hear on all counts. Luck with the game, and looking forward to seeing the further adventures of Morgrimm and his boyz. And sorry I wasn't around to get my trukk finished.

So yes, Trotta's Indapendant Traderz are setting up shop near you.

Option 1:

(Those are not the real Del da Boy and Da Plonkork, just stand-ins. Haven't decided yet whether Del will be in a suit with a jacket draped over his shoulders, or a jumper and sheepskin coat)

I'm thinking a stall, with some tables in front, the buggy to the side, the Trottas manning the stall/standing about.

Option 2:

Loading the buggy with a pile of junk that's just fallen off da bak ov a trukk.

And a few more joining the shambles.

That'll do for now, maybe more later.

Rogue - Yeah I think so too, even though the original idea back when I had it was the second option. The pile of junk was an interesting idea, but can be used in the stall scene, and the stall presents some interesting options

graven - It's a possibility, not decided for certain yet. If so, I'm thinking one of the bearded pirate heads

The diorama's a great idea reminds me of the Ork market story in the Rogue Trader Orks. I'd go with the sheepskin coat myself. The Big Mek looks rather Eldritch which I'm not sure go's with Orks. Orks always seem more earthy and brutish than lovecraftian horror. There is nothing subtle about the terror Orks produce.

Llama - It's been gestating for a year or so now. If you went back to the page 50 update I think I mention when the idea was formed - it's all weety's fault I have a couple of TV themed diorama type thingies floating in the ether. I'm hoping for better progress than I've had with the Waaagh-ky Racers. I'm veering towards the sheepskin myslf, but final choice will probably be dependent on the figures I use as bases.

Well, some of the KFF kit on his back is just place-holding at the moment, I was looking for the Talos arm, and just happened to find all those gribblies in the same box (that's quite rare around these parts you know ) so bunged 'em on. However, yes it is a bit less brutal than one might imagine, but remember that GrimSnik and Upzag have been collecting strays from across the galaxy (and outside), so there's a variety of gear about. The head will probably get swapped out too, that's not a very mekky-tekky bonce.

weety - Cheers. It's all your fault anyway

ldd - Well, let's just hope it gets finished sometime, then we can worry about whether it looks the bomb hey? But cheers for your confidence
Suitcase noted - remind me if it's not been seen by 2015, I'll be getting close to finishing by then

weety - See previous text.

So a bunch of zeds for you. They're shabby, shambolic and stoopid. But I can't be bothered to re-paint so that's how they'll stay

There's still a few details missing on some - I'll try and point out where I remember, but these guys won't see much more attention from me, they're supposed to be quick and easy jobs, rough around the edges is perfectly acceptable to me for these. I'll probably spend a bit more time on the survivors, and the special characters, but these are basically done - already sealed so that's official

Posed with their 'siblings'.

Clark there still really needs his shoes, belt and buttons done.

Yellow-tracky could do with a wash around his massive splodgy eyeballs.

These lovely ladies still need a couple of washes. The undead really whiff, y'know?

Blue-shirt has a reflection on his face, that's not one massive eyeball - although the eyes are a bit skewed anyway
When they're this close those right hands look a bit dodgy

They're zombies. Their physical bodies are decomposing and this affects their anatomy - OK? Nothing to do with shoddy, rushed ...well, to be fair I'm not sure I can use the word 'sculpting' there I think 'she' will stay faded like that, possibly add a number to the back of the top, and colour in her z-pod.

One guy needs shoes still, I may re-do the other guy's flouro sox, and MJ needs a complete re-paint - but he ain't gonna get it. It's recognisable at table-top distance and I'll do a better sculpt and paint later. (Maybe)

Grave-girl needs necklace, hair, collar and cuffs and a bit of work on the base. Others will do.

Arbuckle here needs his tool pouch finishing, a sepia wash over the gloves, a black wash over the boots and a few bits of previous dinners over his vest.

Look at that. More 'finished' minis than I normally do in a year

And some more playing with crackle effects.
Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint.

Patchy medium thick layer over black. Paint was stable to the touch - rubbed with fingers and lightly picked at with blade. Watered vallejo flesh ink was applied.

Medium to thick layer over previous uncracked test (using thinned paint). Chips were resistant to fingers, picked out with blade tip. Flesh ink dropped in places then whole given a water wash.

Thick layer over red oxide paste. Big flakes easy to remove with finger-tips, but brings lower layer with it. This could be because the oxide layer had been watered doen in places and may not have cured fully before I applied the crackle. Heavy wash of flesh ink, dabbed off with tissue in places.

Medium layer over red oxide paste. Stable to finger-tip and blade-tip. Heavy wash of flesh ink.

Medium layer over mahogany and unprimed plastic. Bit of scraping with a knife-tip pulled off the crackle and the brown, had to use enough pressure that normal paint would have been ruined. On the unprimed plastic it was flaking off after banging the other side.

Bear in mind that this stuff is very thick, a 'medium' layer will obscure detail of any but the most basic and large. In all cases, once a wash had been applied the paint chips were stable, I could have pulled the large ones from the thicklayer off, but they withstood a fingertip brush. They've all been sealed now and are solid, I'll try some drybrushing on a few.

Right, that little lot should buy me a few minutes....

Yeah, seems like good stuff. Now to experiment with getting thin layers in place for a colour match, with thicker layers for cracking, learn how to control the stuff. And I have a couple of crackle mediums to play with too. Fun!!

gosh... what a massive update i just missed out on... but it was nice to see it all in one go...!!!

the creckled paint shots really looked super cool! i like that effect... you said it could be peeled off? hmmm... just some testings for later use or for being sure?

and i vote for the first option with that trike car... looks more "completed"... the other option lacks a certain something...

one minor criticism here: the the big mek... with all those facy eldar antennas and stuff... i think what looks wrong here is in fact the eldar stuff... makes him look way too posh and not orky enough... better here some IG antennas then the elven ones...

oh and back to praise...the Z´s look very cool...specially on your neat terrain... looks really like a shot from that music vid of mickey
