All organic areas are finished now, just need to do the metal floats and wooden spurs. Getting tired of how warm the light from my lightbox set is, she is definitely colder and greener in the hand but capturing it without a stark white light is hard. Then again people say yellower daylight bulbs are better but mannnnn I don’t know, I’m still on the line.

Well, I don't know how it's supposed to look, but what I see is really fantastic!

White balance is always a tricky thing. I usually correct in PS, but I recently found a custom setting for white balance in my camera that is a little warmer than what I see outside of the camera, but I really like how it makes the minis look so I've been sticking with it.

That fish-boat is looking fantastic. I love the way you've done the water too.

I wouldn't even be mad had you put a small water transfer on

I wrote up a step by step a while back but now can't find it! Derp :(

Basically, I start with a very deep blue and start drybrushing it through lighter shades up to a nice strong bright blue, like the old enchanted blue. Once I have enough contrast, I give it a full wash in a mix of green and blue washes with no water to shade it down and give it some nice colour shifts.

I drybrush it again up to the enchanted blue and add a little white for drybrushing wave peaks, making sure that they get lighter as the wave gets taller. I then wash all the waves with just green wash, and wash all the deepest areas with blue wash so the swells in the water are slightly paler and show more green.

Then it's a case of watering some wash and carefully going over the areas I want to be greener or darker, drybrushing the swells once more, then painting on fine lines of white where the water breaks at the top. I finish it all up with a gloss coat for shiney niceness

I am working extra shifts at work this week but have still been getting as much painting done as I can, here is a teeny update of some Blood Bowl amazon ladies that are now finished bar their bases (I will try to get shots today if it's not busy)



These are still early wip, meant to be tabletop but I went a bit crazy :S I don’t think their uniforms are a good idea for a game that involves beating each other to a pulp and kicking a ball covered in spikes, but hey, to each their own.

I have no new "interesting" updates on the juggy, I can't bring him to work as he is far too intricate to risk transporting so I can only work on him at home, it's going slow but I hope to have an update soon

I managed to crunch my ankle pretty badly this morning by trying to stand up without realising my leg had gone dead (cat sitting on it strangely) and sprained it sideways really badly, so I'm sitting here angrily typing with a sore leg :( Such a clutz. Will actually have juggy updates ( and fishy ones) tomorrow as long as I'm not super sore. Derp.
