Thanks guys! the tentacles were actually really hard to do! so fiddly and delicate, i'm hoping paint will hide any little flaws but they were well worth it for the look I wanted :-)

If you wanted more "organic" suckers - roll GS into small balls and apply with a cone pointed instrument (preferably a silicone clay shaper)

Can you temp glue in a piece of brass rod into the joint of it's abdomen? That may give you a painting handle

Yes, suction cup rivets! it's new and it's exciting! :-) the circles on his back will sort of be guides for some filigree stuff at this stage but firstly I need to finish painting that Daemon Prince this week! and hopefully some more bits will arrive so i can finish putting together my termies and Lord etc......

Techno suction tentacles of doom look awesome nerdfest this army is coming along great with a nice concept leading it.

Actually I read something last night and thought of you. Do you have a 3e Rulebook? There is some really nice daemon fluff in it, serious grimdark stuff rather than the modern wishywashy stuff for the kiddies. It's on the two pages after the blast marker and templates. There is other stuff throughout the book too. Very 'gothic horror'!

Casey, no mate i haven't read the 3rd ed rulebook but I shall go and browse ebay and see if I can track it down! thanks for the heads up! I do much prefer the older fluff, writings and images they really were much much better and darker, you actually saw pics of marines getting shredded by shot or eviscerated!

and now onto some progress! I painted some more of the Daemon Prince and he is coming along nicely! suitably nasty looking, suitably creepy and exceptionally Slaanesh! I am quite proud of the paint so far and he should be finished tomorrow!

yes, i am going to aim for a cheetah esque skin on his loins, as Slaanesh are known for being a very swift fighting force and it adds to the old school style :-)

do you think I should add some softer veins on him as well? or will that overdo him? i'm liking the head more myself now as the darker mouth is drawing the eye giving him a focal point, when the teeth get done it should be spot on! :-) any thoughts on the tongue? should it stay dark or fade to purple on the end?

As for 3rd e, I might be biased because it's when I started but I think it was the pinnacle of grimdark. Before and after it the theme waters down a bit. The rulebook is a glorious tome of gothic horror, my absolute favourite aspect of 40k. I hope you find a copy, it's comparably as brilliant as the indulgently complex 3rd CSM 'dex.

whoa... now that is what I call a true demon... the veins look really creepy...I dunno how thin you can get the thought about smaller veins... depends on your skill... but if you feel more are needed... do it...that thing reminds me of that overkill monster of the league of the extra ordinary gentlemen... almost to the end of the movie...remember?

Hmmm, all of those veins painted, looks good! Hmmm, Turgidius comes to mind for a name
