I did get a chance to paint up a model this evening. About 90 mins work in with cleaning and painting. Been a while since I picked up the brush so he's a bit rough. The model painted incredibly well. Used Krylon grey plastic primer. Went on beautifully.

Not entirely sure if the photos are working correctly.

I fixed your links - and I'm glad I did!

Wow!

Very nicely done, and that should lay to rest anyone's fears over the miniature quality!

Nice work. I'm hoping we get some decent weather here so I can prime a few up this weekend.

I think I fixed em. Thanks for the kind words. I tried to use Ali,s guide. Because I hadn't painted in so long i discovered I need a fair amount of me paints.

The details, IMO, are really nice on the models. Like I said, this was pretty nic to paint up.

Love the halo treatment. It looks fantastic!!!!

Good: I've received an e-mail saying it has been delivered and signed for.

Bad: it's snowing and I had it delivered to my parents (because they have a porch and douchebag posties keep leaving things like my entire Dreadball shipment on my doorstep in a terraced street).

There was no clear ruling. So if anyone knows how leaving combat works let me know

Well, since the rulebook does not say there is a penalty to moving out of combat, it can be safely assumed that there is not one. Why would the rulebook have to explicitly state that a rule is not present for it to be clear that there is no rule regarding that?

Because it would lake sense to atleast be clear on it. It could he argued both ways and thus could have missed adding the rule. Also a problem with it stating when you take the reflexes. Before the model moves, after its movement, or during the movement. Models are great but the orgionization of the book and rules are jumbled and not clear

I agree that the rulebook is jumbled, I played my first game yesterday and it was a pain going through the book to look up rules in odd places (they need a quick reference sheet like most other games have). I still don't see why they would need to say that there are no rules related to something. Is it just because most games have a rule for this? In that case, should we be unsure about the morale rules for the game because the game does not have any, since this is a common feature of most miniature games?

Thinking about it, it makes more sense that there would not be any penalty to leave combat, as such a penalty would just strengthen one of the armies in the game, the Strain.

For reflex, it says on page 7 (again, odd place for it and it is never repeated) "The triggered Reflex ability is resolved immediately, interrupting all other actions. Once the Reflex action has been resolved, any interrupted actions may resume resolving normally." So during the movement or action.

Nice blood effects, there, and I like the visor. I can't tell, is that white with a neutral grey or blue-grey?

Okay, so here's the process I used:

Kyrlon Grey Plastic Primer

Layer 1 --> Fortress Grey (GW) + small amount French Mirage Blue (VMC)

Wash 1--> + more French Mirage, heavily watered

Layer 2 --> fortress Grey+ French Mirage (From layer 1) + VMC White

Layer 3 --> VMC white

GUN
German Grey (VMC) + final light drybrush of German Grey + fortress grey

"webbing"
Fortress Grey + German Grey from GUN, with more fortress

Visor
Blazing Orange gradianted to Sunburst yellow (both GW) then highlighted with blazing orange mixed with skull white.

The blood splatter I had trouble with. I need a stiffer brush or another tool, I think. Anyone have any recommendations?

Gave mine a quick once over, I can say I'm pleased with what I got, especially considering all the extras that are still coming. A quick reference sheet on the back page should be mandatory for games like this though.

As far as miniature quality I can tell you these are pretty good. I can't tell you how dissapointed I was when I opened my first edition spacehulk years ago only to find that the miniatures looked nothing like the game pieces pictured on the back of the box (Sure that was near 20 years ago, but that was a pure bait and switch). Are the minis as mind blowing as the 3rd edition spacehulk, no, that really was a technical feat of engineering and probably an unfair comparison, but these are still very good quality, better than most any boxed game I've gotten in the past (with exception of 3rd ed spacehulk). These are better than most basic tabletop miniatures in the IG range, although they are mono pose(I'll see how bendy they get in hot water for reposing).

The game components are fine, again not 3rd ed spacehulk, but they are very nice.

I think comparing this to 3rd ed spacehhulk as far as value is a pretty good judgment. The components may not be as outstanding, but I'm sure people will get more play out of sedition wars as Stuio Mcvey will probably actually support the game.

Little issues: No cards for the resin Kara. I know you can download it, but I want a real card! Where is my lights out campaign? I have the minis but no campaign.

Miniatures:
Space Hulk 3rd ed: A+
SW: A

Compnents:
SH3E: A+
SW: A

Over all I think the better value will be with SW just because they will hopefully continue to support the game.

I think I read that a printed card for Resin Kara will be included in the second shipment... That should help with one of your issues.

Getting the cards later is just fine. Weren't we supposed to get some plastic wound counters or something? I seam to remember seeing Mike use a paperclip, but saying the would include a plastic clip. Am I imagining that.

Checked the Kick-starter page. There seam to be a lot of people really going over this stuff with a microscope! Someone even noticed that the cards you get with the game and the extra cards you get in the biohazard box are not the same size. I never noticed this, but damn he is right! Not that it should matter in anyway, and doesn't to me, I'm just amazed at how hard a look some people are giving this game.

I'm just going to be sticking mine in card sleeves. So much easier, and I can just use a dry erase marker for my wounds.

That was my plan also. Has anyone got a comparison for size of these with say, warmahordes cards?

No, it wouldn't. The number of rules that aren't part of the game is infinite, so it is completely absurd to suggest they should list them all.

The two additional campaigns (Quatentine Zone & Lights out) are now in layout so should arrive reletivly soon

(Probably before the March shipment of Models)

talking about the reported slight difference in card sizes, I wonder if the 'bonus' cards were among the stuff they had to have done by a replacement printer after the first folded when the manager ran off with his companies cash.

I'd also wonder if those who ordered multiple sets may be able to mix and match the 2 lots of main box cards and the 2 lots of bonus cards to make a 'large' set and a 'small' set... for those who are bothered by the difference

I put my cards into sleeves that are 2 5/8 x 3 5/8 and they fit perfect. Will be great using the sleeves to mark off the wounds using a grease pencil.

Dunno if you did the Zombicide KS or not cause that was a stretch goal for marking off the amount of zombies you kill during the course of the game. The original idea was to use a paperclip. Thinking of that perhaps?

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.
