As someone that has been involved somewhat from an engineering side of "new armor" technology, the issue isn't really about the exoskeleton aspect(although it's not totally there yet either). The main issue for a "power armor" is the actual armor protection.

Our technology in ceramic matrix, and metal matrix composites is really starting to give us the ability to create a thin plate armor system that can withstand many different types of projectiles in the 50 Caliber range. When you start getting into RPG's and large caliber shells, we aren't there yet, without an ablative system.

Also there are issues with blunt force trauma even when the projectile is stopped by the armor plating.

Basically we don't have the technology to create an iron man type suit that is form fitting, like we see in the movies. It would have to be huge and bulky

Think "Hurt Locker" puffy suit.

Lucius Fox: This sucker will stop a knife.

Bruce Wayne: Bulletproof?

Lucius Fox: Anything but a straight shot.

Bruce Wayne: Why didn't they put it into production?

Lucius Fox: Bean counters didn't think a soldier's life was worth 300 grand.

Lucius Fox begged to differ, not Batman If it was developed I could see the costs meaning the standing infantry;
a) Being reduced
b) Being supplemented with these suits in small numbers. Think of a Wolf Guard in TDA toting an assault cannon to support Grey Hunters type deployment - an infantry platoon with 2-3 suit operators carrying M2s or Mk19s as portable weapon systems is a significant tactical advantage.

As someone in bomb disposal in Northern Ireland explained to me, the suit won't protect you. it will prevent your friends having to search for what's left of you.

Now they just need to make it cover the whole body, and be bulletproof!

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

Sounds good and reasonable, but I'd want 'em covered in pelts, runes and war paint, don't forget the war paint xD
