Not much else to show. Hobby time has been sparse, and life hasn't been kind. When I have time, I have no energy. When I have energy, I have no time. Still, doing what I can. And trying to not be derailed by newly arrived KD pinups. Hard to believe I paid for these years ago.

Thanks for looking!

2021 has started strangely, I get you 100% on the motivation and time not aligning. Everything seems hard this year, fingers crossed it all gets better soon. Ball of glue looks cool, have you decided on colours?

That looped piece of silver metal made me think you were making a lifesized wrecking ball to go all goblin looney on us like 2020 did

Ha! Thanks, guys!

No goblin fanaticism for me, Theo. Yet.

Gobert, I picked up some craft paints for this one. Starting with a black/gold colorshift I will be splodging on heavily, then drybrushing some bronze, gold and silver around. Then a drybrush of various greens along the bottom to give it some underlighting. The base will be broken ground with a bit of a crater look. Probably toss a little green around there, too.

Sounds cool, especially the colour shift. I’ve not seen much use of them, so it’ll be interesting to see how it goes.

Those Celtos models turned out really well, I particularly like the tatoos and stripes on the tiger. It's the sort of thing I usually chicken out on doing for fear of messing up the skin if it goes wrong. I'm really intrigued to see how the glue ball turns out too.

The Barbarian girls are looking real good! I especially love all the tattoos, really bring out their fierce nature!
What is your secret for the skin?

More KDM always sounds good. Yet to paint any, but I have one mini waiting for it's turn.

Glad to see the glue ball piquing interest.

Ezki, no secret, just Gulliman Contrast mixed 3:2 with medium over white undercoat with a very thin wash of Death Guard. Tattoos go down first, adds just a touch of an "under the skin" look.

Thanks again!

Oh, tattoos UNDER the skin level. Well that's quite clever, and makes a lot of sense. Quite intuitive really. Nicely done!

That’s a great tip for tattoos in the Contrast age. Nice one!

I hadn’t thought about how tattoos and contrast paints would go so well together. I knew the trick of a thinned down skin-tone wash over the tat to make it look older and part of the skin. Never really thought about how contrast could just make that a one-step process. Good idea to file away for next time.

Very cool kitbash, it's impressive how well those models go together. Also bonus points for taking the pic on top of "the ball".

Very excited to see your take on the tree wraithguard, are you using kurnoth hunters as your base? (also, calling that ball a world spirit, just has to be one!)

The head looks like it’s just tacked on; like it doesn’t belong. I think a few vines/branches coming up from the neck would work to help “attach” it to the model.

The gun doesn’t bother me. I guess it’s easier jump for a tree thing to be packing modern hardware. You don’t assume it’s all the same thing.

Yes! I like that a lot. The head does not look tacked onto me, but opinions and all that. Really admire the work to fit the blaster into the hands, great stuff.

I might have come across a little harsher then I intended. I blame a quick post before I finished my first cup of coffee. A little disjointed with the overall look, maybe integrated a little bit better with the wild aesthetic?

Still amazing work.

Apologies Nev, I was not calling you out... just offering an alternative opinion. I think a lot of potential integration will come when it is painted, but tbh as a mediocre kit basher and converter I just really like what YWS has done here.

Thanks, everyone!

Tyranid Horde, they are based on the Hunters. And it could be a World Spirit. It's the Great Macguffin. It could be anything. Or nothing.

Nev, I totally appreciate what you are getting at. I have spent no small amount of time during planning deciding how I wanted the head attached/integrated. Like this, a few bits here and there, almost swallowed by the tree. Truthfully, I too am not completely sold on this version, but I don't want to paint/sculpt anything too much more involved. Time, attention, effort and all that. The answer may be a few dabs of putty. Will most likely give it a try and let the paint do the rest of the lifting like LTMW says. Will paint this one for sure before finalizing the other four.

I like the vines and leaves reaching up to that sleek head. A couple of painted and/or putty tree parts would likely tie it all together.

Very cool! The addition of the putty does make it look more cohesive. Still need to know what that ball is.
