Spruce is a type of evergreen tree. Plastic model kits come on a sprue or multiple sprues.

Yes, yes, I'm guessing that's just the phone posting/autocorrect world we all live in now, right?
And besides, of course spruces prefer rain to not getting rain!
Meanwhile, we're STILL waiting for all those missing Primarch models!!!

Nah, you don't need the likes of Dorn or Alpharius. Just like we don't need that next Imperial Armour book or those decals. We need other things for people to whine about.

So, I was reading through the rules for Inferno and I noticed something awesome. The Spear Dreadnought has A LOT of attacks. 4 for being a normal dreadnought, +1 for having two dreadnought close combat weapons, and another +1 when you add in the Spear. As it is worded, you do NOT give up a dreadnought close combat weapon when you add the spear, unlike the sword and shield dread.
That's 7 attacks on the charge, any 6's to hit are D-strength, and it has a good amount of ranged attacks as well. Add into that the front armor of 13, WS and BS 5, and an invulnerable save and this thing is a beast.
Sure, 240 points is expensive, but for some reason I think this dread might be worth it. Now if only they had 40k rules.

Just got my contemptor today which is nice and early. It is STUNNING. Top 3 kits FW have ever done.
The spear is completely handless so you can make your model with the non spear option. It has the three gun options for each arm and there are multiple hands designed with the spear or no spear in mind.
Well done FW, top tier kit this one. Cannot wait to get stuck in.

Bah. While it means cheaper number of models in army is so small price with resin isn't too much of an issue anyway and resin results in higher quality details. Not nice :(
The plastic Custodes are detailed enough IMO ... leave Resin to special characters (Valdor!?). Plastic Custodes Terminators would be awesome!!!

Agreed. Plastic terminators means more money to spend on SAggitarum upgrade kits, dreadnoughts, and vehicles. And the somewhat overpriced Pallas. Like the model, but both the size and number of parts for 60GBP is rather disappointing, compared to the slightly larger Caladius. The Coronus on the other hand is a lovely model. easy to build, well detailed, and larger than I expected. From the pictures, I expected it to be the size of a Land Raider, but it is basically a grav-Spartan.
Now waiting for the bikers, Saggitarii, Caladius Annihilator, and Moritat to make another order.

This week's offerings.
Griff Oberwald - £18
Skaven Rat Ogre - £20 (seemingly bred for hairlessness, would certainly leave less grappling opportunity for opponents)
There's also a couple of Reikland Reaver bundles, but it's just the plakky team and Star Players.

...how... how did they make a worse sculpt than the previous Griff? I loved this one:
The new one feels oddly older... and I don't think it works as a homage, it just looks dated to me. Ugh.

The problem with the rat ogre is that someone has been trying to use NMM techniques for skin tone and it just looks weird. Skin does not normally have specular highlights like that…
