Turbo Dork came out with their first two zenithal paints today. Picked one up because I'm a sucker for good technical paints.

I bought a Shadow and Pain boxset because I wanted to get into AoS by building a Temple Nest. Then I went and bought a 2nd one because you can't have enough snake ladies right?

Osprey has a deal on their books again so I finally picked up Frostgrave 2nd edition along with a few models to start my Frostgrave warband. Every shop I go to is sold out of the offical plastic kit so I'm improvising some thugs with Reaper models.

Something I've been after for a while, Eldar codex for 2nd edition 40k, already got 3-4 projects on the go so why not one more?
ccs wrote:1 spilled drink the other night & I had to replace my Sons of Behemat tome this evening.
Amazing how slow my reaction speed vs the speed of the tipping bottler. Even more amazing was how fast every drop of liquid in that bottle transferred to the pages....
Oh no that's awful..
Were you able to separate the pages out and get it onto a radiator? I've managed to (half) save something I've dropped in the bath before..

There was no salvaging to be done. Hence my having to replace it.

Managed to nab one of these in a trade from the UK. It's covered in dust and will be a fun project along with the Harridan/Hierophant. I'm going to paint big creatures back to back after I finish the table

An exploration deck for Blackstone Fortress, from Ebay.
When I received the main game last week it was missing and came with two encounter decks instead. For £2.85 it was a quick fix and the deck was sealed.
Happy days.

The Void Dragon C'Tan.
Wasn't really on my shopping list just yet, but....
Because our Crusade game has survived to the point where fielding such things is about to become practical. And several people have such options 1x TSons, 1x Deathguard, another Necron player, & to some degree an Ork player with Grazz.
So if I draw one of those players I'll be able to match their monster piece....
Draw anyone else? C'Tan stays in the case.
If not for this I'd have put this model off until into Jan. - after I've finished building all the other Necron stuff on the end of the desk.

Either a lucky lottery or complete waste of money!
Ebay listing of 'Warhammer Box' (!) - with no info at all in the description. Looked to be the old 2nd edition 40k box + a random smattering of miniatures (possibly a blister pack or two?) from the really bad photo.
It looked like a classic parent - kids have moved out and left their stuff behind - attic ebay dump.
So I have either been scammed by the 'mystery box', with something like a soiled pair of cacks being the low point, or I've been lucky and might have a few bits of classic 40k stuff in there!
Fingers crossed!

Ouch!
I risked a trip out to a Warhmmer store.
10 paints + 1 free. Fun fact the most expensive was free so that was nice.

Was supposed to go with my dad (who was born in '43) to the WW2 museum in NO on the 7th, but Covid killed those plans.
Instead bought a Flames of War Hit the Beach starter set and a Panzer IV platoon, and watched Tora! Tora! Tora! with my youngest son.

The MtO warg riders were still available on the OZ website, so I broke and ordered a pack with some Rohan Royal Guard.
Can't say I'm overly pleased with myself. But if nothing else, it'll save me buying them later on for a much higher price.

Bloody hell, well you've definitely got the right username!
Really happy with the 'parent ebay dump' I received - a few Eldar aspect warriors in there that will need a paint-stripper bath but otherwise fine.
Lots of tokens and cards for 40k 2nd edition that would have cost a fortune from resellers. Some still on their card sprues!
At the other end of the scale from Opulence, I treated myself to a single original Eldar Dark Reaper from the 'Bay, to be able to finish off my unit of those guys

Ground Zero Games Full Thrust intro fleets - New Swabian League & Crusties + Brigade Models ships, satellites & stargates for civilian craft etc. Both are for getting ready for Osprey's "A Billion Suns" due for release February next year.
For dirtside operations (using, funnily enough, Dirtside II), I got 2 10mm modern platoons from Pendraken Miniatures, and 3 OOP 1/172 scale Star Wars Republic Gunships from Revell.
My Christmas holiday will be spent hunched over my painting desk, squinting!

I recently bought and built a Gorgon.
My first large Forgeworld model and, although I was happy with my use of a hairdryer to reshape bits and use of Greenstuff to fill gaps, it was a lot more effort than I wanted.
Next up is the Primaris Battleforce to bring some extra oomph to my Silver Templars.
