Elucidian Starstriders is one hell of a wordy name though...
Is it good? They are also doing it so that anyone that wants to have the codecs has to buy the box set.
For the moment there’s not going to be another way of getting the models than getting back the box set either, so that makes sense, doesn’t it? If they start selling the models separately, they might make the codexes available separately as well.
Anyway, I’m pretty interested to see what all exactly is in the box, so looking forward to the previews. Very interested in the price too - wondering whether the dice qnd codexes will inflate that very much or not...
Am I reading the preview correctly in that this will be a stand-alone expansion? I do have the core KT box as well, but that does seem like a good thing to me.

Too bad?
You don't "need" both of the codices if you're not playing one of the factions. You can split the box with someone else if you choose to.

My guess is within a minute. The dakka site will already be open, someone will read it, and right then and there decide if it's op or ug or say what is wrong with it. Mini codex first thing will be not enough units.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

I don't think there will ever be a way of getting these guys other than in this set, particularly the Rogue traders. Most of the Silver tower figures didn't become available separately did they? Just the blues and brimstones (though the Kairic acolytes and Tzzangors got a kit later)?
[edit]Thaumaturge as well - but none of the heroes?

On the other hand we got the whole Kill Team and the coven trio from Overkill and everything from the Horus Heresy games except Ahriman and that Space Wolf dude. So it's not impossible.

The only thing that i don't completely like is that in the Elucidan minicodex probably everything except the voidmen and perhaps the dog will be named characters so theres only so much you could use in 40k

From Silver Tower? Those all saw solo releases.
There's only a few things that are missing, notably the Spidergrots and I want to say the Skaven Deathrunner.

But the figures... for the codex.. are.. in.. the box..?
I'm sure they'll be available elsewhere at some point, as and when the figures themselves become available outside of the box set. If that never happens, oh well. It is what it is, status quo maintained and absolutely nothing to complain about.
I really don't get your point at all.

Well, if someone doesn't like the models and wants to use different ones (like Plague Ogryns for the big guys or Scions for the soldiers) this is a thing. Though I doubt it would be difficult to get those codices.

Can't wait for this. Models look ace.
Until WHQ Blackstone fortress comes out Given the specific named nature of the two mini dex's I wouldn't be surprised if the RT and most of her retinue are all unique special characters.

Of course they will be. This mini-codex is for this specific crew, not Rogue Traders in general.

Well, the codex is not for Rogue Traders ,is for that specific group of people... just like the mutants are those specific mutants.
I understand your point, of course. But this isn't intended as some "Rogue Trader" codex. People shouldn't hope for tha, and then have their hopes crushed by reality.
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Here's hoping that the Blackstone Fortress model comes with an interesting loadout for future 40k games.
Wouldn't Blackstone model not only be monopose, but with much less thought spent on his gear, seeing he is just a game piece with little interaction with actual game mechanics?
I kinda wish RT models actually had some modelling options, seeing they both have KT and 40K rules, but alas, they will probably be all monopose ETB without even head swaps...

Given that none of the other Quest minis have been like that, and, in fact, none of the other board game minis have been like that, why would you even think that?

That's what they said at Warhammerfest.
The two Mini-Codizes will not really be army codizes to expand upon, they're just 40K rules for these exact miniatures/characters that you can play in their own detachment.
