Why not make them prepainted then? Hell, why give them a table top game at all, why not just produce a video game and be done with it?

Because it likely is more expensive, difficult and less likely to grant immediate return.
Plus, they probably have better margins on the board game.
VG industry is sorta in a bad place right now

GW will always piss someone off with heir kit decisions. And, truthfully, grumpy old timey gamers are way harder to please even when catering to them and they're the ones that wax nostalgic for hyper customization. It seems a winning move is to cater to the people that want to plug and play with nice sculpted, but hard to customize models. I think you have a... weird definition of "extreme" customization potential, if Necromunda kits are your example.
You have 5 bodies, that unless you're willing to cut up, will always be the same. Then you have arms and heads options. That's basically it. Hardly "extreme", when compared with things like the ork boyz, for example, and that's not even taking into account the fact that the boyz are compatible with like 90% of the other ork kits.

Elucidian Starstriders is one hell of a wordy name though...
Is it good? They are also doing it so that anyone that wants to have the codecs has to buy the box set.
Having to buy the box set to get the codices that are specifically designed to go with the specific models in the boxed set? Sorry, can't get too upset about that one. We also don't know if they'll release them digitally, but they do have a history of doing so in 7th ed's many mini-dexes.

Rogue Trader and Commanders may have switched places due to leaks, as RT was originally meant to come out after Black Fortress. Commanders being first also suits the model of introduce Kill Team with the main game factions, expand the main game factions, then start bringing out new models etc for Kill Team.
I feel like I'm misunderstanding something. Are there going to be unique commanders for every faction? For example, they'll eventually come out with a model for a new Necron Lord with rules equivalent to Elucia Vhane? Or is there simply going to be rules to promote an Immortal or whatever into a Commander?

I'm not going to re-read the lunacy that is the last few pages of this thread, but I'd be very surprised if anyone actually said that. Even that one guy banging on about how relatively difficult it might be for an Inquisitor to acquire power armour, I don't think even that guy said that.

The non-GW parts on the better part of a squad of female cadians with Phoenix Club bits. I still have a Sargent that I havn't put back together again, since.

Yes second option was delivered. Four or five times. and then I started using the bag of books. Along with a chair. And then a table. and then some people restrained me. and then I was banned from certain cons for several years. I havn't been to one since, now that I think about it.
How long did the judge give you for the serious assault that you appear to have waited until he'd broken 10 of your figures to deliver?
Because if I were in the same position, "don't touch my fething models, dill weed" would have been the first thing they got after breaking one piece on one of them. Though even that seems unlikely. Both the chance of it happening, or the chance of it happening to my models while I was anywhere nearby.

They're "boxed game/starter set"-type models. I'd like to see more customisable models for things like Marine heroes, too - but complaining that this type of set with a series of "named" characters, etc isn't customisation is missing the mark. These are push-fit, ez-builds. We might get some similar RT militia-type models down the line, though at that point expect them to be a dual kit and priced similarly to the Scions. At the very least.

Crimson wrote: Nah. They mention Rogue Traders popping up in licensed games so that's covered.
They mention Wrath & Glory.
How do you do an article on the history of Rogue Traders in 40K and somehow avoid the entire game called "Rogue Trader"?
Not wanting to devote a couple extra paragraphs describing how they've had multiple rpg systems, all under different names, many with different partners, all with varying degrees of success, and all containing mentions of rogue traders?
It's seems a wierd nitpick - I mean they didn't mention the other multiple black library series that have rogue traders, including certain inquistors, or the new rogue trader fluff involving Gulliman. If you wanted them to cover everything you'd write up a far longer and more boring article that would lose everyone attention by page 4.

Does anyone know the base size the four big nurgle guys use? Is it 40mm?

It's good to know you can teleport, Azazelx.
Oh, and good luck getting an assault conviction in Pittsburgh if they were deliberately breaking your gak, in front of a room full of people, even if it took a moment to reach him.
This is getting OT now though.

Thanks good sir. Just need to order some resin bases to fit in with the necromunda ones.
