as Lex noted its nothing amazing, but likewise I find the magazines are actually worth reading through before touching the models, and worth keeping too

I Know it was never going to happaned, but did they have to use stormcast and nighthaunt? Couldn't have used i dunno... Beastmen and skaven or something?

Nope. The only options they had were Stormcast vs Chaos or Stormcast vs Nighthaunt as these collections are predominantly made up of sprues from a starter box and easy to build kits (any other factions would need to be more advanced standard kits which cost more than easy to build and are less suitable for a beginner). Nighthaunt are the more recent models and more distinctive compared to Chaos so were the more likely choice.

Just received a subscription confirmation email a day after I signed up. The subscription number is in the email comes up as invalid when I try to add to my existing account which is what usually happens when it’s a limited trial run.

how do the trial subscriptions work?

do you get the first few earlier, then when the main one starts up pick up where you left off?

assuming the main release goes ahead?

Generally, unless you can find them In a physical store which are usually limited to the north east then you won’t get the issues. They have the online sign up page to get an indication of how many people are interested.

If you so sign up online now then you may find that if this does go ahead then you receive the first 4 issues for free as a thank you for waiting so long.

Traditionally, early subscribers get the first four for free once it launches proper.

Which is nice.

Though it's worth noting that the subscription signup page does say you'll get your first set of issues within 28 days, Don't know if Conquest also said that, but I'd assume that means you're at least getting something?

No it did.
As it’s the same page setup that will be live during actual.

That’s why you got the email and the offer of the free mags.
To say thanks for the interest and waiting.

Just to add to this, I think it is live now or will be soon - the subscription is showing up in my account along with the 40K Conquest one (although, confusingly, the thumbnail picture of the mag they are using is of a Routemaster bus). Hopefully, it will be out soon.

I'm part of a facebook group and the trial runs are showing up in Spain as well as the UK so if that's anything to go by there might be quite a big release if they're releasing it at the same time everywhere in Europe.

Funnily enough, the magazine's first issue is 2 euro in contrast to £2.99. Feeling a little hard done by!

Same here. Don't want a bus though!

Same here, subscription set up on the site (with “the bus”), will see what happens.

I honestly don't even know why this is such a hilarious juxtaposition to me. Battle bus or bust, dammit.

The first one did if you already had a login on there, even at trial stage.

Though it could be sooner, I’d rather it isn’t as then they will do the free first ones offer again

Nothing for me yet, the subscription shows up (with the bus picture) but they've not sent or charged anything yet.

Keen on getting down to business with it, I've never done a part works before and having just picked up Conquest issue 1 from Italy I have plenty of gold for the Stormcast!

Will say if I receive anything, I'm expecting my delivery in the next 10 or so days (I subbed on the 28th of August).

You are likely to not receive any deliveries until next year.

This was only a trial run in a small part of the UK. If the trial was successful then it properly launches about 3 months later so would expect Issue 1 to hit the stores at Christmas at the earliest.

As a thank you for signing up during the trial run you are likely to get a couple of free issues as a thank you for waiting so long.

When subscribing, the email said subscribers would receive their first delivery within 28 days so are Hachette being legit here?

I wasn't part of the conquest subscription so I don't know how it works fully.

Conquest sign up during trial said exactly the same thing about getting first delivery within 28 days. Then it was about a four or so month before they emailed to say the full version was launching and you had to reconfirm you still wanted to take part.

I’ve been enjoying Conquest so I immediately subscribed to this too. Really looking forward to my first delivery as I’ve never painted any AoS models...

I'm on the fence about subscribing to this one. Stormcast hold little appeal to me (much like the primaris from conquest) but I would like the ghosty boys. This might be the sort of thing I pick up individual issues of.

Also, has there been an image released of the full collection yet, like what was seen for conquest? I'd like to know what terrain/larger units we might see in this.

With Conquest the big image of the entire collection wasn’t released until they launch the real subscription rather than trial one.
