These have been sitting on the desk looking at me for months. Promise they'll look better soon (and I might even add some of the other parts of the kit if I'm doing well)!

Nice looking squad there JoshInJapan.
Always good to get some more painted terrain on the table smallchanges, look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I need to get a move on with mine, only one model completed so far:
At least I'll have something to enter.

Whoah...old school cool!!! Those models are great.
We really need to have that as a theme soon!
So many to choose from for this month (my pile of shame is perhaps more like a n Everest of humiliation) but I eventually have decided to go with some Nurgle warband bits...not sure exactly what I'll enter but something from this bunch.

Well, over halfway through the month and slow progress.
Proof of...something:
Several attempts at the black to green fade on the robes and I'm not convinced I got it at all. Going to carry on with the rest and see how they look then.

Had this guy laying around for a couple of years now. I remember it was a fun built, but I didn´t make it with a particular world for him in mind. I just wanted to use the cyclops head on something else than its original body.
So my question for you guys is: what faction/world do you think he belongs to?
- Dark Eldar (40K)
- Slaanesh (AOS)
- Goliath Gang, as a mutant (Necromunda)
- Corpse Grinder (Necromunda)
- something else?

Utilizing Careful Highlighting
|
I"d say he feels much more Goliath or Corpse Grindery--something imperial or ex-Imperial adjacent anyways. Mostly the pants and the fairly intact and smooth skin I think. Doesn't feel as showy, spikey, or distressed enough as is for Dark Eldar or Slaanesh. I could see him as some sort of AdMech project or something as well.

@Tim 121RVC - I think he might work as a DEldar, too, but I agree with Vejut that he's maybe not showy/spikey/distressed enough - maybe if you'd add something more weird as a belt buckle, or some 'laboratory experiment' style stuff to the back or shoulders, etc.?
And here's my mostly finished first Mordheim Sister for the challenge. This range had some pretty interesting models and I kinda regret not getting more sets when they were around, but the heroic proportions haven't aged *that* well - these Sisters are around the same size as the current 40k plastic Sisters, with about twice as large heads and hands

I found inspiration in an Acolyte with no head from 2002 so I decided to convert him to the undead persuasion to with a bit of help from some green stuff make something unique for this months entry!

Some progress:
Black base coat becomes this:
Which with some stippled orange, a gunmetal drybrush and a few layers of blue then becomes this:
Still got some more work to do on the dome, working in to the newer rust on the blue panels.

Quick update. Trying to go for a black to red gradient on the talons to try and give them some good contrast from the rest of the model. Anyone have tips on how to do this that doesn't involve an airbrush?

Glazing or blending medium into the color for thinning with lots of layers or blending on the model wet, and in either case using several intermediate colors. Granted, thats "what I'm told", not "what I've managed". Also, push up towards orange or yellow for the highlight.

Finally got all base colours and washes on the first of my models, the back of the cloak and the spear head are mostly done, but I feel like I've still got loads to do... :/
I posted seven models, but I feel like this might be the only one I get finished, after all.

Looks alright. usually red feathers nicely over black. I'd do a few more thin layers of your red over that, dragging the paint to the red side. once your transition is smooth, I'd highlight the red a stage or 2 up aswell, using a flesh tone, or an orange it you want a vibrant tyranid look.

4 bolter brothers are getting there. Needs a cleanup pass (particularly the whites) and all the basing, decals, and other sundry bits.
Going to try to get them a fearless leader done by the end of the month. I should also try to get one more basic guy done, just so I have 5.

Here are my proof pics:
A Primaris Eliminator Squad
I had actually started these guys but then hated the metallic/reflective coat. So, I broke them apart and stripped the paint off, and started over.
Then, since I had them apart I figured I'd convert the pose of one of the crouching guys, so the two would look a little different.
And I decided the bright red of my army's armor works counter to the camo cloak, so I went with a black with red tones and highlights.
Of course, I didn't take a picture during any of those stages.

I have finished the bases so just loads of weathering in my future to finish up. As always feedback is very much welcome and appreciated.
