That's exactly why I only went with 2 Still a bit to do, but hopefully get them finished over the weekend, giving me a couple of days to figure out what I'm doing with bases.

Holy cow DV8 that is beautiful.

If I'm going to finish the whole board game I'm painting, I still have ten minis to finish. Of those, five are almost done, but five aren't started yet. I've painted thirteen, which is a good number already, but there would be something very cool about doing an entire board game in a month.

Yeah, me too. Its kinda a nice feeling when you get down to just the base left, isn't it?

@Arakasi--looking good, especially like the tatooing you've got going.

@DV8 -- Man, thats a nice striking green, but the whole thing looks great.

Still a bit of work to do, hopefully get most of it done this weekend.

Yep, scary isn't it!

I'm calling mine done. It's been really fun to experiment with weathering and rust.

I'm applying a thousand transfers to Celestine's scrolls currently, and may or may not finish on time. But I did finish Ras Nsi, so he'll be my entry if I can't get Celestine done.

Nearly there with the first batch of Kommandos, bit of highlighting, bases and transfers on the backpacks:

One of the details I love on these models is the Swiss Army knife:

I like to think that the Orks have heard about the Swiss Guard who used to protect a really important humie weird boy, so obviously their knife must be one of the deadliest weapons in the universe...

Looks good Zergsmasher. Always nice when things start coming together.

About done with mine. Needs better pictures, and may do another pass on the bases, feel a bit flat, but just so I have something down if I forget:

Hi All

I've been finding the lockdown hard with 2 small kids and working from home so not had much time to post on here. I hope everyone and your families are well.

These models arrived just before the lockdown and i've been slowly progressing them but about time I posted a proof!

Woo! Missed Midget Gems conversions! Good to see them back, and looks suitably loony. Being bold to do that many checks on such a short time, good luck!

I think I might change my entry. Got something that looks better in the works, but I'm not sure I'll finish it before the end of the month.

Not sure yet, what do people reckon? The same concerns/limits about getting specific minis for a theme are still in play, but I'm not too keen to do a complete repeat theme. Anyone got any ideas for other fun twists on an open-ish round?

This month was an open round encouraging people to go deep into the pile of shame. Maybe reverse it, and have next month be the latest entry onto the pile? See what people grabbed before things locked down?

Several people seemed to comment on the idea of retro as a theme in the comments - obviously a few of us went with old models this time round, but the theme doesn't limit itself to old models - colour scgemes, 50's visions of the future, art deco terrain, updated versions of classics...

Most themes have plenty of interpretations, so maybe gather a few ideas and poll as usual - I agree we don't want to keep doing completely open ones, could be a while before everyone is back in a place where supplies aren't an issue in some way or another.

Oldest model / newest model / most neglected model seem like themes everyone could find something for.

There have been a few shouts for a retro/oldschool round, so that might be what we go with since it seems popular enough that it'd easily win a vote. Not just old minis, but retro colour schemes or stuff that's old in-universe? How does that sound?

I'm on board with that! Question tho, will future rounds have the usual 5 model restriction in place? Or will we be keeping with the unlimited number until the world restarts? Just wondering as I've got a big bulk project coming up and wondering if I should start some now or wait until the new round kicks off.

@Deadshot: probably going to put the limit back next month, it was fun to lift it this time but I think that should stay a fairly infrequent thing, so feel free to get started!

Sounds like we're going retro next month! I'll do a proper theme writeup in a bit.
