Gee, this month certainly got around fast!

Lots of covid restrictions changing in my neck of the woods, so I am back on-site for work which has been challenging but fun - it also means I can get onto a model for this month.

Here it is....

Theme idea; given that the nights are drawing in, how about “into the dark”. Could cover special forces, spaceships, heroic adventurers or those fallen to evil.

Late entry, but here I be. Looking through my models, I decided that skulls were too common to be scary anymore, but then I found the dyniaq and spawn figures. Pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns are the scariest things possible, reminding us that our time is limited and that others will shape us without our consent to suit their needs. I cry every time I see a pumpkin and feel my labor-sore shoulders. They're almost painted.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And they're done. I'm happy with how my vines on the spawn's base came out. I left a little bit of fingerprint on the knight's base. Either way, I can put them in my team now.

If it's not too late, I'd like to get in on the fun.

My entry: Kromlech squig-o-lantern (no idea what it's really called).

Oil paints? Nifty. Did you find them hard to work with?

Actually they were quite easy to work with. I still made mistakes obviously as this was my first time using them but overall they were really easy to blend and ultimately finish with. This model took me about 6 hours of work and thats with making some rookie mistakes. I'll totally be doing this practice again. Hopefully next time I'll have more than a handful of colors. XD

Well, his head is too big, and there isn't the detail I wanted yet on his legs, especially. But, it's already almost the 30th, so I'm just going to primer the Ghost Rider anyway.

Bit of a late entry for me as I thought I had posted my proof ages ago!

Bit of a departure for me doing an AoS model so I decided to experiment and play around using contrast Blood Angels red and guilliman flesh for the bodice and then nuln oil and drakenhoff nightshade washes for the cloak. There is only contrast wash and drybrush on this mini (except the base)

And finished
