Some progress on the raptors. Planning on a range of blue-green skin tones with Contrast white armour and a few other spot colours. Albino sniper and angry red assault raptor.

Okay, since I still can't get primer and time is running out, I'm switching up my entry:

That's Moto Tsume, fallen Unicorn clan samurai from Clan War. I have a nostalgic attachment to my original model, so I managed to get my grubby mitts on a second one for an updated paintjob and base. The poor guy kept getting put on the back burner for other projects. So now is as good a time as any to get some paint on him.

Reborn Crusader Squad WIP:

If you've seen my blog, made some headway on the squad. I started during third, where mixed weapons was part of the fluff and I've tried to continue this tradition with colors and weapons. I like the "questing knights" dynamic that is Black Templars, so each has slightly different colors and heraldry. Trying not to over customize and slow down too much (I do that a lot...).

A little progress. I need to go back in and do a ton of cleanup around the lacing:

But I do like how the verdigris on the gold came out.

Nice WIP, KidCthulhu. I have a bunch of those old Clan War samurai, and I remember the lacing as being a lot of work to get right. Keep at it!

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Liches were too much for me. I had to append to another model I did this month. The God of War Horauthin, once mortal remade into a God through deeds of strength.

Some Ossiarch Bonereapers are on the bench for me this month

I've got one finished already, and the other five have been started. Hope to get them all done and pick the best 5:

Reborn and remade.

But remade by who? Why not have a little self reinvention.

This is my Stargrave Crew

Amongst this gang of reprobates is a Crontyr Heavy Industries "Immortal Series 3000" combat automaton, which the crew began to refer to as Dakkabot. After a generally successful expedition to Imperial Research Station 37, during which many zombie victims of Hastian's Plague were encountered, Dakkabot's APE (Adaptive Personality Engram) * appears to have continued to pick up further characteristic traits from its employer and comrades.

Unfortunately its employers and comrades are, mostly, Ork pirates. Dakkabot has modified its rapid fire weapon to include a large "bayonet" on which it has engraved it's motto, "Dakkabot Loves You"

It has repainted its legs to match the striped blue trousers that several other members of the crew sport

Additionally, it has acquired a hat that it is very fond of, and added several "tattoos" to its forearms.

Dakkabot has been spotted in several areas of the galaxy, most recently on an uncharted desert planet

(Basically I decided that after some Stargrave with Flinty, Dakkabot had developed enough of a personality to earn itself a new miniature)

*Not to be confused with the much derided "Real People Personality" system used by other manufacturers

I was putting the matte varnish on this guy and a gecko friend dropped in. I will most likely be taking updated pics for the contest but thought these were worth sharing.

Now that would be dedication to basing… training a gecko to just sit there and pose for a whole game what a great wee event. And the dread does indeed look awesome.

Lots of great stuff so far.

Freya: Is the texture on the robe there to take advantage of the printing layers, or did you do that freehand? Either way, it's a neat effect.

Graphite: The pirate hat on the Necron is delightful!

Toofast: If you're going to feature the lizard, shouldn't the Dread be in Salamander colors?

I finished a few more zombies:

I'll have to narrow my entry down to the best five, but for now I'll keep plugging away at the set.

It's just freehand texturing to make it look a bit more worn and rough. Though there are some very fine details on the print if you look close enough, it wasn't the intent of the lines. If anything, I was doing it despite the details in the print lol.

Also I love your little family of zombies. Reminds me of some of the potlucks back home haha

I tend not to take painting WIPs, but I figured I'd make an exception this time:

I thought it might be interesting to have a picture of pre-shading on Vader to compare to the (yet to be) finished model. You know, for science! I've been working on my black in the past couple of years and had some success improving it, but there's always more room for improvement.

Also I'd like to state that I really hate how we're running out of April now. I was happy procrastinating in peace and then that happened! Rude!

I know! I haven't even been procrastinating and it feels like I'm going to barely make it in under the wire.

Barely on time is still on time. Stay positive.

After I've spent an hour and a half (give or take, probably a little more) putting black paint on Vader, I certainly know why I wasn't in a hurry to paint him. But the big stuff is done now. Some highlights, some details, a bit of touch up, and he's finished. I should be able to get that done in the next few days.

Huzzah! Not only did I finish, but with time to spare! I actually finished this a week ago, but have been lax about getting round to taking photos. A mighty warrior of the Thousand Sons, fallen, remade and reborn into the even mighty ironform of a Contemptor Dreadnought:

What about underdogs? Grots, Guardsmen, must be loads of models that just know they are doomed when facing a galaxy of horror. My Tau always had Blue Section that just knew they would be hitting the recruiting circuit after every battle
