I think it's all very awesome and intregueing, makes me wanna make an ork army too. I have a question though that may have been answered and i missed it but, do you use ork rules or DA rules or a combination of both?

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

The mistakes weren't all yours and I think my menial knowledge of the rules didn't help. The whole army is pretty run together, and nowhere near what I want it to be. I think by the end of the summer it will be good. I'll have played with them more also. Had it been annihilation then I think it may have been closer. I would have deployed better as well

Are you planning on doing the entire dark angels thing and have about 1000 models ? Also, for that awesome scenic base thing you could put a scarred gaurdsmen next to the giant squig !

@monkeytroll: As always, you must be correct!

@Eckeon: Da Dark Angelz most definitely use Ork rules - they only *think* they are Dark Angels - and then it's only the upper echelons that have been administered "ginseed and progloid lands" by the Painboy - and even then it varies as the Ork metabolism breaks it down overtime so that they need a constant supply... (I guess you could more simply call it an Ork warband with a Dark Angels - rather than Goff, Badmoon etc - theme)

@Imperial Monkey: More games = less mistakes (rules and tactics) - at least that is what I keep telling myself. Still, I don't get to play nearly enough I know the feeling of running a non optimal list due to lack of options - it's why Da Dark Angelz 1000pt list hasn't changed, well, since I initially created it around what I could complete fastest! Don't know where I would be if endtransmission hadn't given me those Nobz for my birthday two years ago... On the upside - I know the list very well...

@MrJakkadakka: Thanks! Glad you like them.

@moonshine: I think "da plan" goes something like this. 1) Get to 1850-2000pts, including key theme units. 2) Fill out the FOC. 3) Look into Spearhead/Apocalypse formations 4) Entire Dark Angels company. I figure I can afford to slow down () once I get to 2 - but I wouldn't see why I would stop building - other than running out of ideas... I'll try to hold off a second army until 1 is complete too... (managing to hold off Dark Eldar while I wait for the 2nd wave of models...) Unfortunately, guardsmen don't really suit my theme - but I have considered more Dark Angel corpses - we'll see. The scenic base will not be completed soon - at this point it is just serving to make sure I do Morgrim's base so that it "plugs in". It will join a long list of other "parts" that have collected along the wayside (like the Trukk and Deffkopta alternative wargear...)

Are you gonna do devasta flash gits or lootas?

Initially Lootas. I think Flash Gitz will be a long time coming... (maybe a new Codex might drop by then and inspire me )

I hear that. Flash git conversions are so hard to find, when done right they are awesome. When it comes to units without models, If the unit is good in the game people will find a way to use it

What I'm sure is to be yet another controversial update... got some good progress done on Morgrim!

First, the last of the planned bitz (for now)...

Nothing final yet - just blu-tacked. I am going to have to do some work on the pelt to make it follow the contour of the shoulder pads/top rather than creating a cavity between the shoulder pads and adding unnecessary height. Will need to fill out the size a bit too to match the head...

Jeweler's saw to the rescue - cut the underside of the Landraider for the scenic base...

And Morgrim, sans bling, in and out of the scenic base:

Still lots of issues - but they're not going to go away until I start finalising things I think... which I would do tomorrow, but I think the Deffwingz needs some more attention (Gives time for feedback too...)

Im sorry, I think it looks really busy and off balanced... I don't know if it will be as bad when it's painted. but right now the he looks like he's going to fall to the right (his left)

SAdly I think I'm going to have to agree with Josh on the balance thing.

On the flat base he's nicely posed and running/striding along a flat surface. In the photo (it may look better IRL) it looks as if he's stumbling off to his left under the weight of the Terminator shield. Maybe if he was charging *up* the slope of the landraider rather than across it might look better?

As for all the extra detail, I think they look great. Getting the cloak to flow properly is going to be your main problem I think. You might want to consider trimming down the top so it sits between the shoulder pads and GS a bit of fur up and over the edges as that will probably involve the least amount of work

@Artsoldier35: But it that a good or bad "*Bites tongue*"

@schank23: Thanks!

@joshoftheforest: Well, I can live with the off balanced. The base isn't currently stuck together - not even with blu-tack - and I couldn't quite get the same position when I "rebuilt" it sans scenic base - delicately balanced as he is for photography. It was more to show the height. The left pic with him in the scenic base looks better, right? As for busy-ness - well that was sort of what I was going for - sort of Marneus Calgar busy. Now that there is more there, hopefully the shield isn't drawing so much attention? I think you are right though - its going to be hard to tell how busy it actually is until it's finished/painted... Appreciate your input!

@CommissarKhaine: Nope. Well, it may be angled "slightly" lower - but not on purpose at this point. The shoulderpad, pelt and gun are all higher though... (and higher than they should be...)

@endtransmission: See above response re balance

Yeah, I know. It was meant as a suggestion on *how* rather than that you needed to do it.

That'll teach me to post after no sleep

Being that I've already commented on the shield and it's starting to grow on me, I am going to bite my tongue and just enjoy watching you work your magic. There hasn't been anything of yours that I don't like so I'm just going to wait it out. I'm sure you'll continue to tweak until it feels right for you.

Ah yes - the downside to showing plenty of WIP steps. I'd wait till I'm done, but then their would only be monthly or less updates (and good ideas *do* arise...)

It's looking much better, the other stuff really takes your eyes away from the sheild. My only problem with it is, it is looking over complicated and it is hard to take in the entire thing. Nice work though.

Looked a little busy at first glance, but looking at zoomed pics changed that. As already noted I think getting the cloak right will make all the difference. And the shoota's cool, FW I presume?

@Artsoldier35, whalemusic360, prototype_X: Cool. Enjoy the ride! On the up side, I do enjoy (once a project is finished) going back and seeing the progress pics - sometimes you can see the end result from the beginning, sometimes not...

@moonshine: I'm hoping that as I refine it some of the busy-ness might disappear / it will be easier to take in - I think this may be my first model that may not completely come together until the paint goes down. Well - I wanted to challenge myself with new things, I guess this is meeting that! Another goal is for that busy-ness to turn into a depth that makes you notice more and more with each look of the finished model... Lofty goals I know...

@monkeytroll: Getting everything right will make a difference! But yes, no doubt I will require more feedback on the cloak as it is refined... Good eye - yes the Big Shoota is FW. It's bulkier than the original I created, and I think will double as a Twin Linked Shoota okay too...

Currently working on Meganob Codename: Warmachine - just started on the arm armour (after much cleaning up and pinning) - this should be fun

I know what you mean. My wife complains about some of my "creations" being hard to see with all the different types of material. Having Plastic and metal and plasticard and whatever else all combined on a single project "muddies" up the eyes. It can get confusing really quick. It isn't until I primer the project that she finally can "see" what I was trying to get to and then is ok with it. So, I am just going to give in to the mantra, "In Arakasi we will trust."

@moonshine: I have thought about it - just don't really want to cover up the Mega-armour... we'll see...

@Artsoldier35: Here's hoping your trust isn't misplaced

Some progress on Meganob Codename:Warmachine...

Let's see...
1) Guns blu-tacked/not cleaned up/drilled for the moment...
2) Plasticard arm braces not glued or detailed yet...
3) Everything else should be cleaned up and glued...
4) Still lots more to do! I've picked put the Rokkit and Skorcha. Can't glue the plasticard arm braces until I sort out magnetisation for the Skorcha. Gauntlets are waiting on braces. Still to do glaive... ie typical Arakasi WIP

Still - I can already tell I haven't seen a Meganob like him

I like the belt fed one, but the drum mag one looks like an upside down shoota. Maybe if it was side mounted?

I agree with Whalemusic 360 that the drum-fed one looks a bit off. Maybe you could turn the hand 90° and have it wrist mounted?

Ha ha - they are supposed to be wrist mounted - I didn't rotate the fists because I figured I wouldn't be able to see them once the gauntlets are in place

I was trying to keep away from using two of the same gun - otherwise I could use two belt fed ones. I do want to keep both on top preferably. I've tried rotating the gun (so the drum is on the outside) - but my pesky brain keeps getting annoyed about covering up glyphs, workings or ejector ports...

Some more thought required then... good thing I have three more to be getting on with in the meantime!

Or maybe I should use two belt fed ones - and make belt feeds that go around to the back... (of course, I'm sure you will all love that idea - as I have been trying to avoid converting one to have its belt feed from the other side...)
